Avatar n tn We have a 22 mos. old who has had diarrhea, mucus, in stool for wks, then stopped temporarily, started again. Very foul smell, mostly green in color, mucus and now a fever. This has gone on for 1 1/2 mos. We stopped milk just in case, that didn't help. She is on gatorade, bland diet, and in between this had a sinus infection and took amoxicillin for 10days. Her fever went up to 102.9 is coming down with motrin/tylenol in between. Stool was tested for parasites.
Avatar f tn My toddler has not been the same after his fever (103/104) broke. He had a rash from roseola and then was not the same boy. He started having tantrums out of nowhere, hitting, pinching, screaming out of nowhere. Nothing like how he is normally. Doctor said it was normal and his brain needs to adjust back to normal. Just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this and how long it took to get resolved?? Scared Mommy!!
Avatar n tn My daughter is 22 months old. She is perfectly healthy, no fever, no cough, energetic and seems to not be affected at all by the red bumps that have been appearing on her body. She first got them in the upper thigh and lower abdomen area. Now they are on her abdomen and coming onto her chest. They are tiny pimples, they do get a little ***** head for less than a day to a full day then just go down to red only. They get better and then more appear.
280369 tn?1316702041 Just letting you know that Jeremiah's rash cleared up completely by sunday morning! I was so thankful. I stopped using that soap and I will try it again in a couple of days and if he gets the rash again I will know it's the soap. If not, then I guess it was just a heat rash. It was so weird though. He's never had a rash for that long before.
Avatar n tn It usually affects children under 10 years of age and often starts with a feeling of being unwell for a day or so. Then there is fever and typical blisters like rash on hands, foot and inside mouth. As with other viral infections, antibiotics are not needed. Rest, plenty of fluids and acetaminophen if there is any fever is needed. I feel that you should consult a pediatrician and discuss it with him. Hope it helps.
Avatar f tn He gets about 10 spots a day, those fade and then he gets new ones. The spots are mainly on his underarm, back, and shoulders. But now a few of them have showed up inside his mouth (cheek) and on his face. Sometimes they are clustered together and sometimes it is just a spot here and there. He had 2 rounds of bloodwork that came back normal. He did have a virus about 2 weeks ago (no fever, just a viral respitory infection). They also checked him for strep too that was negative.
Avatar f tn My lo is currently experiencing this was sick a week ago had a tummy bug then I caught it. Been very grumpy and tantruming for no reason. Has no fever now and it's a very hard time. Just wondering everyone's outcome?
Avatar n tn //www.nonf.org/perthesbrochure/perthes-brochure.htm personally I would have any child checked out that has persistent pain ...
502674 tn?1249543704 Also insect bites and fungal infections have to be ruled out. If there is any associated flu like symptoms then a viral rash should also be ruled out. A consult may be necessary since viral exanthems may present as a skin condition. An atopic dermatitis is still to be considered even if there is no manifest itchiness. Just note for any signs of irritability ,fever, decrease in appetite. If these are present a prompt consult is necessary.
Avatar f tn s had a high fever (he was around 13month old). Since then, every somewhat elevated temperature will result in a seizure. We have been to the emergency a few times and were always told that he is in fact experiencing febrile seizures which are of no concern. The seizures never last longer than a few minutes, at most. One ER doctor did however order an EEG since on one occasion he's had multiple seizures (10 short seizures in 2 hours).
Avatar f tn Last night she really coughing but this morning she has woke up with flushed cheeks and a slight rash under the skin on her chest and red blotchy rash on her arms any ideas?

Avatar n tn It will flair up into an itchy, very small raised rash, and then I scratch and the skin gets shiny and it peals. It does this a couple of times a year and is ONLY on my pinkie. ????? My doctor says thingss like this happens and I just treat the symptoms when there is a flare up. I would consider the cortisone cream. My son has something going on with two of his toes where he says they itch and they become red with a patch on them.
Avatar n tn My 19 month old son has come out in a big rash all over the right hand side of his tummy and chest and on the inside of his right arm. He was awake lots in the night crying and was sick earlier on today too. Does anyone have any idea as to what it could be as i am worried.
Avatar m tn I just had custody of a toddler and when his back teeth were coming in he would start rubbing his cheeks against stuff, had a loss of appetite, cranky, had a high fever and clingy then started rubbing and pulling his ears. When I took him to the dr he had a double ear infection plus a sore throat. He was put on antibiotics but it still took about a week for him to get back to being into everything. He also cut 5 teeth. Freaked me out to say the least lol.
Avatar m tn Never staying the same even though she just lied on the bed for 4 hours (which right there is not normal for her) She also presented at the ER with no fever but within two hours had a fever. Chest xray was clear, ears were clear no signs of infection to explain fever, and ashtma well controlled. The dr sent us home and is setting up a cardiologist appt and she woke up the next morning seeming fatigued but otherwise ok.
Avatar m tn I am still suffering from fever till today along with the pain... however unlike other ARS symtoms I have no rash, no throat ache.. no night sweat and my fever never crossed 100 F... oh also my fever seems to be normal near morning, start rising and then starts reducing around night time... Now my question is, is it possible that the ARS fever could last more than two weeks? because after three days my fever will reach its 4 week mark... please help me out cause its just driving me crazy ..
Avatar f tn It is a common and extremely infectious childhood disease and produces an itchy, blistery rash is sometimes accompanied by a fever or other symptoms. My sincere advice is to get it examined from a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn He took one look and knew it was a type of yeast infection - basically, it starts as slight diaper rash but develops into a larger rash that doesn't respond to typical treatment. She was prescribed econozole - however, many actually get relief from over-the-counter topical creams (apply to the skin where the rash is) for yeast infection. Perhaps your daughter's doctor, pharmacist, or nurse could advise you over the phone if it's worth trying.
Avatar n tn Not wanting to eat is not as much of a concern as not drinking is - a child can dehydrate very quickly and dehydration can be very serious, especially in a child. Dehydration will also happen a lot faster if the child is also vomiting and/or has diarrhea or a fever. Please do not hesitate - take your child to the ER. Please let us know what you find out and how your child is doing. Best of luck!
340909 tn?1295188216 My 13 month old is sick, he has a virus with a fever and a slight rash. They did his blood work and said its a virus but didn't tell me what. I think its Rosela because he doesn't have any other symptoms. Anyways last night I had him in my bed watching him bewteen doeses of fever reducers and he seemed clammy. So I felt his pulse and it felt so weird.
Avatar n tn I thought he kept getting ant bites but the other day at the store he fell asleep and when he woke up he had a couple on his face. They then faded and went away. now he has a high fever and has them on his back and stomach.
Avatar m tn Well, it's been 5 days and I haven't done anything to the rash since she hasn't complained and it has nearly gone away. I noticed she does tend to sort of pull in her lips when she's being shy so perhaps that caused it? I figured it would go away but am still curious what it might be caused by; could very well be what you suggested but probably no way to know for certain without having her looked at. I suspect next time she needs to go for a Dr.
Avatar n tn Within a few days, the redness fades and a finely textured rash, sometimes referred to as a sandpaper rash, develops. The rash is caused by toxins produced by the streptococcal bacteria. The rash and skin discoloration usually last for about three to seven days, at which time there may be peeling of skin around the fingertips and toes and in the groin area. ref:http://www.medem.com/search/article_display.cfm?path=n:&mstr=/ZZZWSJ2K1AC.
1356767 tn?1277275068 ll throw up every hour starting at 5 in the morning going until about 9 in the morning, and with diarrhea all through out the day. Sometimes its green and watery, others normal colored diarrhea. He has no fever and is normal up until he gets sick. The doctors keep saying that he has a stomach bug such as the "day flu" that is going around, however, no one at his day care is sick and no one in our household is. I have a terrible immune system so for me to not be sick is just amazing.
