Avatar m tn oh ok thank you. then which drops are used for scratched eyes? would the whole eye need to be red if it were scratched? are there any other symptoms of a scratched eye? are there any anti-viral eye drops?
Avatar f tn I had the same problem using Tobradex (the generic version though) a month ago. Vision was blurry for about a week after I stopped using it.
Avatar n tn Hi doctor, About a year and a half ago an opthalmologist ended my 10 year span of using naphazoline hydrocholoride which had been prescribed by my gen physician. He put me on flax seed oil, allegra, restasis, sterilid and qtips, moisturizing eyedrops and tobradex. At one point he did tell me to slow down on the tobradex but I couldn't handle having such bloodshot eyes so he's allowed me to continue usage for the past year and a half while monitoring my IOP levels.
Avatar n tn I had an eye infection(eye redness) and my doctor pescribed me Tobradex for 5 days. The eye redness is gone now but I'm having problem now on my right eye Problems are blurred vision ,eye pain upon eye movement and a sensitivity to light. I searched on Google and found in many articles that the eye blurriness is one of the side effects of using Tobradex. My question is there anyone had the same problem of blurry vision? what precautions to take ? Is your eye is now ok?
Avatar n tn Neither Maxitrol or tobradex are good choice for allergic conjunctivitis. Both often irritate the eye and have harseh preservatives in them. You would best use a good artificial tear: Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
Avatar m tn About 1 month ago I used tobradex drops for 10 days. Since then, my eyes have been tearing a lot and it always seems like I am 'crying'. I saw a opthamologist recently who said I have dry eye syndrome and suggested systane ultra. How can I have dry eye syndrome when my eyes are tearing so much? Could the tobradex have reduced inflammation on my tear ducts, thereby causing increase in tearing? Also my eyes are red all the time and looks like I have been smoking pot or something.
Avatar m tn that came and went on my eyelid where eye liner is applied, painful, scratchy eyes), he prescribed generic Tobradex drops which I used QID x 7D. After using the drops and coming in for a follow-up visit the following week, my vision had drastically gotten worse (the first Wednesday I went in was the line below "20/20", and a few days ago on Wednesday it was 2 lines above "20/20").
Avatar n tn My 93 yr. old mom was given Tobradex for an eye infection and has not been the same since. She had no med. hist. other than moderate dementia. After the 1st dose of tobradex, she became difficult to arrouse and because of this, slightly dehydrated. She also had immediate increased difficulty in swallowing. Approx. 3 weeks after dc of ointment, she was in the hospital due to build up of upper resp. fluid.
Avatar n tn For two months now, I've been being treated for an eye infection (both eyes). It was initially thought to be allergies, but the Patanol did not help. Opthamologist then prescribed tobradex, which worked until I came off it. We then moved to longer tobradex usage that tapered over two weeks. Came back again once I came off. Then moved to oral antibiotic for one week and zylet - no results. Now oral antibiotic for two weeks - no results.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have lower lid problem since January 2009. Both lower lids become puffy, a little bit itchy, red, wrinkled and visibly dry. I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again.
Avatar n tn Greetings, I have caught bacterial conjunctivitis three months ago, after rubbing my eyes for one week in a raw everyday for several hours (i had itchy feeling ), afterward a yellow thick discharge began to appear in the morning that made my eyes stick together. I went to a pharmacy, the guy there gave me tobradex eye drops, i used it for 2 days only, my symptoms immediately disappeared in the second day, however i discontinued using the antibiotic course thinking that it was cleared forever.
Avatar m tn It is not improving and he rubs it all of the time. I am a physician and was wondering if I should prescribe a steroid like tobradex or maxitrol for it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Please Help! I've been to three different dermatologists and recieved three different answers. My symptoms started this past summer with a rashy patch on my chest about the size of a half dollar, composed of small bumps. None of the dermatologists were able to take a scrape sample though and ruled out a fungal infection. They prescribed Triamcinolone Acetonnide .1% It works to a point, but never completely goes away. It also gets terribly itchy.
Avatar n tn Would you recommend an 19 mo. old infant to use Tobradex for a chalazion? We just got a rx but we are not sure this is safe for an infant under two years old. The side effects for long term use mention glaucoma and vision problems? Should I be concerned about this?
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm being treated for "bacterial Keratitis" on the left eye. I've had the infection for about two weeks. I waited a long time to see a doctor because I don't have insurance and I thought it was pinkey and would heal on it's own. I was wrong. I finally went at cost of $140. I was diagnosed and given vigamox (4 x day) and Tobradex. The doctor insisted I come back the next day to check my pupil after dilated. So, I paid another $140 for that exam.
755712 tn?1233788474 Also, when my eyes are sore, I feel especially tired during the day. It usually takes about 5 days before my eyes feel like "normal" again. In the past year, I have noticed this goopy discharge....it is not typically associated with my contacts (at least from what I can tell). It doesn't happen during a certain season or seemingly when I am around a certain thing (i.e. dirt or dust, etc.). Overall it seems random.
Avatar f tn Also has he ever been prescribed Tobradex drops- it is a steroid and antibiotic--- I have to beg for these drops, but it ALWAYS gives me relief
Avatar m tn is tobramycin in tobradex effective against s. Aureus? Are there better antibiotics for this condition? Ive tried many others but it seems they make more harm than good. I wonder whether my glands have bacteria inside or not.
Avatar m tn I got worried and went to a urgent care and met a general physician, he prescribed me Gentak eye ointment and I used it for 2 days and the eyes got well. Now, again it started from few days the eyes becoming red and feels irritating, and this time I went to a ophthalmologist yesterday and he prescribed TOBRADEX and he said vision and everything is good and it seems to be an infection (conjunctivitis).
Avatar n tn My opth has diagnosed me with blepharitis, I use sterilid w/ compresses and take flaxseed oil, and I also use preservative free eyedrops for moisture. However nothing has worked to my satisfaction besides tobradex which I've used for about a year and half- my eyelid inflammation is pretty severe even with the other treatments, however w/ tobradex my symptoms are almost nonexistent.
Avatar f tn My husband had his pterygium surgery on 21st Feb. His eye specialist had said he should recover in a day and could even start driving in 2-3 days. But my husband's eye is still sore. When he has his patch on, his eye is ok. Every time he tries to take it off to get his Tobradex drops, it tears "a lot" and is also sometimes sticky that he is not able to open his eye fully. Its extremely light sensitive and he doesn't like a light on.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with GPC 2 months ago and I've been using Tobradex for two months. My Opthamologist says my lids look better, but there is still some allergen there. He told me that I need to stop taking the Tobradex because apparently it's not good to take it for a long period of time. I've stopped taking it and my eyes are back to feeling awful. They didn't feel 100% back to normal on the Tobradex, but it helped!
Avatar m tn 2 drops a day for 2 days after the procedure. Is it ok to use Tobradex, once a month, for 3 days at a time? Any thoughts on what could be causing my reaction? Thank you!
