Tobradex for cats

Common Questions and Answers about Tobradex for cats

tobradex

This doctor told me I had dry eye and Blepharitis. She prescribes me with Tobradex and tells me to use it 3x a day for 3 days, 2x a day for 2 days, then 1 time a day for 3 days. First, the problem went away! (surprise surprise...steroid) No watering, no crusting, no redness. I go in for a follow up and she tells me my eye looks normal again! And to just use the artificial tears. 2 days later my left eye is back to how it used to be! It's PAINFUL at this point.
is what they come up with. Usually given drops for Tobradex or Fred Porte (dont know if I'm spelling right), and told to wash my eyelashes with a little baby shampoo every day. approx. 3 or 4 times a year I get red eyes. Only one eye is affected at a time, but this latest time its both eyes so I need help. Symptoms: Red on only one quadrent of the eye, when I look at things closer to me my eye hurts more and more. As I focus closer, the more it hurts.
here i go....so for the last 6 months i have had itchy eyelids...my eye doctor told me it was due to mild allergies and prescribed eye drops which didnt help in the least so i turned to over the counter allergy medicine which hasn't helped either (so i dont think it's allergies) and in the last 3 weeks not only are my eyelids itchy but when i wake up in the morning my upper eye lids are bright red and swelled up so bad that its embarassing!!!!
I had put up with the problem for 11 months, gradually becoming worse. And now after 2 months of it having gone away, it has returned again. This time it happened much quicker, starting on the right lower eye, then moved to the left. The right under eye is very red, sore and dry. It feels so rough to touch. I have not worn make up today and have only applied vaseline and aqeous cream. I haven't changed any toileteries or make up in the last 2 months. I am not sure what it could be?
I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again. I again used Tobradex for about 3-4 days. Everything went back to normal, but all the symptoms are back once more.
