hormone

Avatar m tn however, only after reaching optimal levels of thyroid hormone and allowing some time for the body to heal, will the patient achieve full relief of hypo symptoms. Also, to feel your best it is important to assure cortisol is at the right level and Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin must be optimized. D should be at least 50 ng/mL, B12 in the upper end of the range, and ferritin should be at least 100.
Avatar m tn I need to know, how much time does it take to NDT to work? is it six weeks like T4 medications or it works differently?
Avatar f tn I get hot flashes only when I stop the hormone cream and I wake up 1 or 2 times a night and go right back to sleep. I have been on the hormone cream for about 12 years. The sleep issue has been in the last year and a half.
Avatar f tn I have had a low grade fever on and off for this whole time. My main question is, what do I need to take to be healthy? I have had hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings and heart palpitations. There is a history of cancer in my family so I don't want to increase my risks there. Please, any info will be helpful. SHould I take a multivitamin for menopause along with a progesterine cream or something else? HELP!!!!
Avatar m tn No where that I know of. What will you be using it for? It's a pretty potent hormone and should only be used under the supervision of a dr. My mom uses a progesterone cream for menopause and her dr is constantly monitoring her and checking her hormone levels and I used progesterone pills early in my pregnancy and my dr drew blood every week to adjust it as necessary.
Avatar m tn s always best to start a lower dose, usually 25-50 mcg and work up because it takes time for your body to get used to having hormones it's been doing without. You might want to talk to your doctor about backing down on the med until you get used to it again. Was TSH the only thing tested? You also need the Free T3 and Free T4 tests.
Avatar m tn Who in Toronto tests these levels and what should I specifically ask to be tested for. Or do I just go on estriol cream/patch or estrogel cream....and then figure out if I need t add more, and how do I figure that out - how does one know if she needs progesterin/progestin or testosterone added (either the medical kind or the bio identical kind).
Avatar n tn After two years I started to lower the dose down to almost nothing and the joint pain and other symptoms are back, so is back to the HRT for me again. My doctor tells me in time I will be able to get off the meds as she did with out any symptoms, but for now the Natural HRT have helped. Read Suzanne Sommers book on hormone replacement therapy is an eye opener. she has done all of the research for us.

Avatar m tn Hi sorry hormone therapy will not help at all , there are no pills or cream to make your penis any bigger , take care ,
Avatar f tn t use their blinker (my husband will not let me drive the car with him in it anymore for this reason lol) I need to give my husband props for dealing with some of these weird moments of rage and emotions.
3073221 tn?1340774051 I took the hormone cream for 1 month and there was absolutely no changes in pain or the tearing or bleeding. The area continues to tear, bleed and cause severe pain with intercourse. so naturally, it has now been months since I've been able to have sex with my husband. I'm really becoming depressed over this, as is my husband. Can you PLEASE make any recommendations? I feel so very sad and frustrated.
1031264 tn?1318524241 m on progesterone suppositories however I am told to only use it 5 days after ovulation. If you do consider trying the cream just be sure that you've ovulated and I wouldn't recommend using it until at least 5 days after ovulation.
Avatar n tn Hi, i have genital herpes and have had almost monthly unwelcome visits for almost a week the past 1 1/2 years. Almost always at the same time as my period. I've tried daily medicines (valtrex) both the exact week and every single day - but it wasn't all that effective. Instead I've had a lot of pain. And valtrex just produced candida. I accidently took the wrong cream a while ago - and it helped a lot.

Avatar f tn Lil Lady is correct. Progesterone is a hormone supplement, so you have to have a dr's prescription to get it. Why were you thinking about starting it? Did a doctor recommend it?
200220 tn?1361951554 Dr. Lupus: My holistic doctor gave me natural progesterone cream to use to help me stabilize my moods and pick up the free estrogen that is floating in my body. My question to you is it dangerous to use with taking levothyroxine 37.5 with having hashimotor disease. My doctor is an MD also and seem to be very knowledgeable about the thyroid along with helping me with celiac disease. What is your experience with this natural product.
Avatar f tn Ok, I've been spending my first couple days on this forum over in the anxiety section as I've had anxiety/panic issues for 16 years, but recently I've been having some different issues that are leading me to think that they are not caused by anxiety alone.
1449766 tn?1286288181 t go this route do to expense you can also get your doctor to write a prescription for thyroid medication and the dosage. No particular brand because you are going to take this to a compound Pharmacy. You could ask the compound pharmacist exactly how the script should be written before you go to the doctors that way there isn't any problems. There the pharmacist will make you the thyroid hormone from natural ingredients not synthetic.
Avatar f tn Took new saliva test and went to new hormone specialist. She changed me to cream (bio-identical also) plus added 4 adrenal food supplements. I have taken the same blood pressure med for 17 years and kept my levels normal. After using the hormone cream and adrenal supplements for three weeks, my blood pressure soared. My doctor took me off the supplements, but my blood pressure was still dangerously high. She doubled my present BP med plus added another med before it would come back down.
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thank you for the question and we are happy to try to help. Have you visited a dermatologist? That is always best. Clotrimazole at 1% has a satisfaction rate for about half of its users. So, your odds are pretty good it will work. However, there is also clotrimazole 2% as another option. Normally it takes 7 days to begin to see any improvement and I'd try it for a full two weeks to determine.
Avatar f tn I just started prempro 4 nights ago, and my hot flashes (and subsequent clod flashed) and night seats have gotten worse, not better. I'm only (almost) 46 and was taking DHEA and Pregnenolone....and they worked well up until a couple of months ago. I up'd the dosage, and it still won't work for me anymore. I really REALLY didn't/don't want to take synthetics, but it all just became too much...nauseous too....want to cry all the time.
Avatar f tn I too have experienced the same and now have tiny ulcer like sores after 1.5 years of pain. I've seen several doctors who say I'm estrogen deficient and to use the cream they prescribe but that doesn't work. Most have given me lanacane (numbing cream) but I'd like my sex life back with my husband as well. I don't have an SDT (e.g. herpes) but tiny little open sores/ulcers that have spread over the last year and penetration is excruciating.
Avatar f tn I was 23 and had a 14 month old baby girl at home and needless to say it was a very difficult time. Reach out to family and friends for support. Baby yourself, rest and try to relax. Look into alternatives to estrogen and dont stop until you find something that works for you. You are still young and have many more years ahead. I'd suggest looking into naturopathy for alternatives.
