Micheal, I got the butterfly feeling in my chest, it follow with few beats, big dumps and tightness. My tightness in the chest can last half a day long. I discovered it could be a LBBB. Just my discovery. As everyone has LBBB is being told it is harmful and the Drs "Don'T CARE". I learn to live with it. Have a run, power walk or strong coffee. You may have luck!

when my chest tightens up, it does hurt...actually it is a dull ache. Nothing will move, even mucous and the sensation just gets worse and worse as plugs form. hurts like hell, I will admit. I can also relate with the jello knees sensation, feeling very weak whenever this happens. I guess this might be because I am usually getting some kind of infection which results in worsening asthma and the tightness. Are you seeing a specialist for your asthma/allergies right now?

its only the 4th day and Ive had some chest tightness and some aching. This lead me to a couple panic attacks which I got control of on the 2nd day when I realized what was going on. But I dont understand this chest tightness and aching. No erratic heart-rate or high blood pressure. Doesnt feel like lung issues cause on deep breaths it doesnt hurt more. Anyone else experienced this kinda of side effect with this stuff? Are these normal for starting this stuff?

old female who for the past week has been experiencing difficulty breathing with a tightness in my left upper chest. I struggle to get a deep breath and sometimes have to yawn to do so. If I thought about it enough and panicked, I could hypervetalate trying to catch my breath. The only relief I get is when laying down to sleep or rest. This started out of nowhere.
From what I understand about it, it is an irritant that will cause you to have chest tightness and SOB. I already experience SOB and am kinda weary of taking this test. I don't want to not be able to breathe at all. Anyways, if you know anything about this please let me know.
Right now the neck is too tight, I have keep taking Advil which is not good to relieve this tightness. I feel like no doctor cares to help and that I'm the only person in the area with this problem. it all started around the time I was experiencing symptoms of mono before I was diagnosed. I see another endo in November. what else can I ask for to see if this problem can be solved (aside from having the thyroid removed). I'm at my wit's end! Thank you for any help!

There is a history of heart problems in my family. Also, I was diagnosed several years ago as having a heart murmur.
I have been on wellbutrin to quit smoking for 10 days now, I have such chest tightness I feel as though I can't breath, like there is no air in my lungs. I heard this is a side effect should I keep taking it?
A few tests will relieve your mind and can't hurt. Sometimes just worrying about chest pain and why you have it will cause more chest pain. I hope this has helped and good luck to you and your family.
Anyway, I was having the chest pain and tightness and spasms and went to the ER. Had EKG and blood tests done and found my heart was okay. BP was a little high 140/85 but been under 128/65 for the last 6 months with diet and exercise. These symptoms were really worrying me, giving me anxiety that I would have a heart attack etc. Hopefully, this is what everyone else if having in lieu of heart problems.

I have randomly been having rapid onset breathing difficulty where it feels like my lungs and throat are swelling up and hurt\itch. I think it used to happen very rarely but has happened like 3 times in the last month. The last two times I had been inside a clean modern building for about an hour. it comes on very fast and fluctuates gradually decreasing for about half an hour. Both times I stayed in the environment where it happened and it decreased on it's own.
If you feel it in your chest and throat, it is possible that a small amount is being carried to your lungs just from normal respiration. A friend's mother a few years ago ended up with lung cancer that the doctors suspected was from years a reflux. My experience is to drink plenty of water over the course of the day, take your medications, no coffee or carbonated drinks and eat smaller meals.
i would describe it as a tightness starting in the middle of my chest bone and radiating to both lungs., im not short of breath and am not on any medication.it started around the time i had slipped a disc in my back. could that be the cause of the pain?
I noticed my heart rate would go higher than my husbands, once heart rate hit 130 I would get a tightness, squeezing, pressure in my chest. once I stop and get the heart rate below 125, the tightness goes away. I tried working thru it and heart rate went up to over 180. This has happened when I have been under SEVERE stress also. Went to family doctor, he had me do a nuclear stress test, it was normal. Doctor sent me to Cardiologist who said I needed a heart cath.
I took antibiotic for two weeks and the pain on my chest go but right now i'm feeling shortness of breath, tightness on my chest, and chest burn with mild cough. Can someone help me what this might be now.
it becomes all the more significant because of your associated symptoms of shortness of breath. Cardiac pain or chest pain can be felt as a tightness and worsens with activity or exercise. This could be more relevant if you are a smoker, are overweight, have a positive family history, are a diabetic and have hypertension. The other causes to consider would be cervical spondylosis (neck problem) or disorders of the nerves, muscle or shoulder joint.
it seems to be made worse from stress and sleepless nights do not help. I get a tightness across the chest and feel restricted, which is only alleviated by the cracking of the sternum. I worry that this cracking will cause issues long term, like Arthritis, etc. However, sometimes there is no option as the amount of times that this occurs is increasing and the cracking (and sometimes popping) can happen from just sitting up, turning or running up the stairs.
She calls it a bubble feeling, but that's how she is describing the tightness in her chest. She did have this wake her up last night in the middle of the night. That seems like it's a first. So any information we can get will be helpful to us to understand this. We're learning as we go along. Her doctor told her that she would probably breathe better in the warmer months than the colder months.
Won't even go into the unsympathetic reaction to my sever anorexia. Have not even told them about my shortness of breath and chest tightness as of yet, will wait till I get labs done. Don't trust them at all so I go get my labs everytime I get a test done.
Hi all. I had an ablation 4 weeks ago and since that time I have been experiencing chest tightness, pressure, and sharp pains in the heart. I am seeing my doctor on a weekly basis to determine the cause and undergo treatment. Following a work up of tests (echo, nuclear stress, ekg, etc.) the doctor has determined that everything in the heart is normal and that this "discomfort may be something that I just have to ride out.
I have trouble with tightness in my chest. Do your ribs and sternum hurt? Since I had sarcoidosis in the lungs, I have gotten what my doctor refers to as a severe case of costocondritis. Think that's spelled correctly. Anyway, I feel like something is squeezing my chest and it is painful just to touch the ribs and sternum. Anyway, I can certainly appreciate your discomfort because I have been dealing with it a long time.
After the blockage was discovered thanks to a persistent PCP, and the stent inserted, I had chest pain afterwards. Was re-catheterized, all the major arteries were given a clean bill of health, but was placed on a beta blocker. Terrible reaction to the first one, put on a second one, and finally my cardiologist took me off that one as well. Although I see some improvement, I still have chest "aches" on exertion.
But it is really scary and it is being accompanied with pains in my chin and jaw, tightness in my upper abdomen, sharp pains in my stomach and chest, and sharp pains in my shoulder. The only thing is that I am uninsured for another month and can't afford to go back to the ER. I need help for whatever it is. Any feedback is appreciated. P.S. I am on Toprol, Lipitor and Aspirin everyday.
