thyroid zest

Well MH family, I am 120 days today clean and sober from a 4 year addicition to opiates. My life is 180 degrees different then it was when I was an active addict. I love living again, I haven't been this happy or had such a zest for life, like I do now, in such a long time. To those of you strugling or just starting this journey, stay strong, get help, and post here as often as you can. The people here at MH, are very smart, caring, and loving people.

I used to love life and was very methodical and disciplined, but now everything from a small chore seems daunting to me,even before I start I feel tired and Ive lost that zest for life,I had a purpose when I was fighting for the kids in Court but after four years its been going down hill,I have good kids they love me and respect me,but I see that they are having emotional issues because I have changed.

I am frustrated since the last time I felt this way (seven years ago) it was my thyroid and now I am told my thyriod is fine with my current medication and leaning towards hyper range! I want the zest back into my life!

I found that I still had no energy,no drive,depressed, just no zest for life. I finally had my testosterone checked (2 times) My total testosterone level was 195 & 203. Both low levels for a 54 yr. old male. I just started taking testosterone injections once per week in the last 2 weeks (2 injections-1 ml) I understand it usually takes up to 5 weeks for the full benefits. i'm posting a question asking for your medical advice as i've suffered from long term depression since i was 18 as i'm now 38 going through various medication regimes throughout that time. I've previously been on mostly SSRI's ie prozac and seroxat, with in addition dosuphin and amtitrypline. Prozac and seroxat worked well with me for some time until they "pooped out" on me.

My son who has been diagnosed as bipolar 3 yrs ago at age 29 is on 100 mg Lamictal and 3 mg of Rispedal. Is otherwise symptom free and functioning at a high level (prestigious work & economically) but in spite of his young age and great looks/gifts he seems to have lost the zest and wonderment for life. Background: he had a perfectly smooth and healthy life up till when 3 yrs ago he decided to take diet pills and then a fresh graduate Dr. of Osteopathy just handed him packs of Lexapro.

My jack russell terrier was in acute kidney failure last month and is now in chronic. Her blood work, off the charts in some areas, has normalised but her urine showed high protein and she has high blood pressure; she is taking enalapril for both of these. She is on Hills KD and has shown improvement in weight gain, appetite, zest for life, her coat looks fantastic. But I can't seem to control her vomiting for more than a few days.

I think one of the most important things an addict needs to feel, especially those in early recovery and struggling is hope. without hope what is the point in fighting, right??? since i came here ive had a lot of pm's asking if it was really possible to be happy and have a zest for life after using drugs so long. i truly believe that not only is it possible, but chances are we will become better, stronger, and more determined people.

I had some questional kidney funtion tests and as a result they told me to keep my blood pressures in 120s. I was on the smallest dose of zest..... and was doing ok, but when I asks the doctor abouth the clonopin for withdrawals he gave it to me and told me to quit what I was taking. He said 3 paths or maybe more would not be bad.

I dont understand why smaller doses of thyroid meds arent utilized. There are many doses between 100mcg and 150mcg - 112, 125, 137. Maybe ask your doctor to try something inbetween. Small dose changes can make a huge difference in how you feel, so I imagine large dose changes (50mcg) can be the difference between freeling great and ffeeling awful. And yes, you should absolutely have more than just your TSH measured. Good luck.

lives (in suitable cases) -when their only option otherwise was euthanasia. They were dogs with a zest for life, and basic good health who had paralysis problems. When I saw those dogs reclaiming their joy and fun.....and watched how they ran around I was impressed. But I hear it can take some time for the dog to get used to the wheel-cart, and it has to be a very good fit.

i feel drained all the time and tired and i have no passion or zest for the things i used to anymore. i have isolated myself from family and friends and have no passion to speak to anyone at all at times. i sometimes had thoughts of suicide and ending it all as teko mentioned because the depression takes over you completely and you do lose yourself and feel so lost and don't know who you are and it is the most scariest feeling i have ever had in my life.

Everyone should have their thyroid checked. Many individuals have symptoms of sluggish thyroid and metabolism, including low body temperature, weight gain, trouble losing weight and keeping it off, constipation, poor mood, dry skin, itching, and energy problems in the afternoon like hibernating metabolism, a dull and heavy head, feeling too cold, and too much fatigue. You may begin to feel tired and listless, perhaps chilly when those about you are comfortably warm.

I don't know what the science has found but my husband was taking dilantin alone and his libdo was fine. Unfortunatly, his seizure disorder worsened. Once the neurontin was added, his seizures stopped, but soon afterwards his libido dwindled then diminished. Completely. He's very sleepy and has totally lost his zest for life. He doesn't even want to play music anymore or engage in sports. Just an observation.

Just going through the motions and not having that same zest for life i used to have. Im on 125mg zoloft is it possible its pooping out? my dr mentioned in the past that if this happens he can up the dosage.
