Avatar f tn the constipation could be a sign that you have low thyroid. Thyroid is responsible for many many symptoms. If i listed all of mine here, they would be similar but different than most people. When is the last time you had a good work up including tsh, free t3, and free t4? It almost sounds like you have two different things going on at the same time. Did you see your OB GYN?
Avatar n tn Candida is hard to treat if it becomes systemic, and it becomes systemic usually because of overuse of antibiotics and steroidal medicines. The little fungi are attracted to sugar and dairy and a weakened immune system. It's easier to spot in women, for obvious reasons. Let's assume it hasn't really become systemic -- if it had you would be suffering fatigue and other things, and doctors can detect that.
Avatar n tn What i have found out from searching the net is that when we make antibodies to yeast or things that look like yeast, we also somehow attack our thyroid or thyroid hormones. Getting rid of the yeast hypersensitivity that way gets rid of hashimoto's. What do you think guys? Please read and comment! I know there is lots of info, maybe too much, but i dont want to miss telling you anything. Anyways, here are the info and links. Enjoy!
199954 tn?1294944669 s and are out of balance, your immune system is compromised and you can have an overgrowth of yeast. Yeast want to be fed and candida LOVE sweets, bread, alcohol and chocolate. Your body is telling you to eat these things to "feed the beast" so to speak, and because they are all complex carbs and highly caloric foods, you are going to have an issue dropping the pounds. I just went through this and could not stop craving bread and chocolate.
Avatar n tn You may also want to have the dog checked for a yeast infection and have thyroid checked. Regular Brushing is often better than frequent bathing. A friend of my daughter had a Basset Hound that always smelled no matter how often they bathed him or with what. He did end up having a thyroid problem. Just a thought.
Avatar f tn I have had all the symptoms of an over active thyroid post natal after my first child 4 yrs ago, I'm having more symptoms which have progressed since my 2nd child 8 months ago. I now have neutropenia and anemia as well as the usual symptoms I began with. My thyroids have been checked each time because the Dr's keep thinking it's my thyroid when I see them but them my levels keep showing up "within normal range" so I am really not sure what to think.
Avatar m tn Recently I got bloodwork done through lab corp for PCOS, Thyroid, and diabetes. I received a letter in the mail saying my labs were abnormal and to call the gyn. I called and was told I had a combination of yeast! I had the swabs done the beginning of last month. Why are they just saying me I have yeast but told me I had a case of BV as soon as the swabs were collected in the office? Wouldn't it be sensible to say to me that I had yeast and BV right then and there?
Avatar n tn This is a thyroid forum. Have you been diagnosed with a thyroid disease? Or do you suspect one? Have you been tested for thyroid function? On thyroid medication? There are many things that can cause itching hands, including the of latex gloves, since you work in a food service industry.
Avatar m tn My wife has re-ocuring yeast infection. Her doc took a swab and said no STS but yeast infection keeps comming back. y wife wants to ask her doctor for a sts test but I tell her yeast and sts are not realted. Is this correct?
Avatar n tn Hashi is an auto-immune disease that attacks the thyroid. It is not simply a thyroid condition. Doctors are so focused on treating thyroid levels, they ignore the underlying auto-immunity and factors that may be contributing to the antibody flareups. Gluten is a large factor to many with Hashi. I wonder if you were gluten-free long enough. Yeast can also be to blame and can cause the mouth ulcers, etc. Many Hashis have an underlying yeast issue and are prone to yeast infections.
Avatar f tn Just started taking one grain of Armour for low thyroid. Also started red yeast rice and dish oil for high bad cholesterol. Having heartburn and don't know if it's from Armour, red yeast rice and fish oil or all of the above. I take Armour first thing in the morning. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Hi -- Congratulations (?!) on getting a diagnosis -- sometimes that's harder than being sick. Well, only sort of.... but points to your doc for figuring it out, and big points to you for sticking with the quest. I'm not medically trained, but here's what I'd do: -- Talk to the doc about your thyroid function generally and with regard to Lyme. In ways I don't understand, Lyme mucks with the whole endocrine system, and that includes thyroid.
Avatar n tn s gene resembles both gluten and yeast cells, so when we have a yeast allergy and eat yeast, or a gluten allergy and eat gluten, our thyroid gets hit as well.
Avatar f tn 5, so it seems my thyroid survived. But they referred me to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist as I have some strange lump on my throat and my skin is glued to my esophagus in that area. Weird. Also, three yeast infections in 3 months and possibly conjunctivitis. I didn't get sick all during tx even though my ANC hovered around 400. So strange it would happen now.
Avatar f tn The other thing that comes to mind is a low level of depression. How is your thyroid? Depression/anxiety and thyroid problems are often interrelated. And of course, thyroid plays a key role in hormones. I really wonder if something isn't going on in this area for you. Something to talk to your doctor about.
1391114 tn?1279954121 Hi everyone, I'm a 22 year old female and I am looking for help figuring what is causing my symptoms. I have had constant fatigue, weakness, cognitive impairment, low body temp, 20 pound weight gain, and what seems like an inability to lose weight. These are all of course symptoms of hypothyroidism and it really seems like that is my answer.
Avatar f tn I'm a proponent of Armour thyroid. I've taken the synthetic stuff for 10 years with nothing but negative results. I've suffered from depression and panic attacks during that ten year span and the only thing I've found that works is a combination of brewer's yeast and Armour thyroid. DON’T EVER take the synthetic thyroid, it’s worthless and should be banned.
7139665 tn?1388442630 My new doctor (since November 2013) told me that given my symptoms even though my thyroid levels are not too crazy, she wants to put me on thyroid medicine. I would love to hear what other people with thyroid issues think about this. Do you think that's a good idea? Did/Does anyone have a similar story to mine? Do you have any questions and/or suggestions? If I take the medicine for a while, will I become dependent on it?
Avatar m tn Sometimes the source of yeast infection may be internal to the body, the common one being candida yeast. In such cases, external application will not cure the disease and internal medicines will be required.
Avatar n tn Why are you taking the antibiotic? Generally, you need to complete the antibiotic regimen, because if you don't you could develop drug-resistant bacteria. Try taking a reuteri based probiotic and see if it helps, but the antibiotic will be killing it off so take it two or three times a day. After you're off the antibiotic, you'll need to do an anti-yeast regimen.
Avatar f tn I have a 14 year old Cocker Spaniel, for the past 8 months I have been trying to get rid of a really bad case of yeast on his skin. The vet gave me a shampoo to use and prednison and he did blood work. He found out that his thyroid was low and he is now on medication for that also. I have changed his diet to no grain and giving him a bath every 3 days. Nothing is making it better, if anything it is worse. He has hardly any hair now and is covered in this yeast.
Avatar f tn t and in the morning when i wake up it hurts to bend my fingers and my knees will be filled with fluid. Does this sound like thyroid to you and do you know why i would keep getting oral thrush? I have been treated many times with diflucan for vaginal yeast but the oral didn't devlop until after 7 months of flagyl, 2 steroid shots, ashtama inhlaer and bactrium treatment. Now it won't go away with diflucan treatment.
Avatar f tn I have a problem lower my colestral and heard about red rice yeast. Is it okay to take it with what I already take? I am looking for something to help naturally to get off as many of the medicines I take as possible. Also can you let me know of anything for lower blood pressure and sugar levels?
Avatar f tn Since giving up gluten, I do not have antibody attacks and I have cut my dependency on thyroid hormones and I feel GREAT! Yes, my thyroid is working again. Even if you tested negative for Celiac, and BTW, it's no coincidence that many Celiacs also have thyroid disease, you can still have a leaky gut and gluten intolerance. Many people with Hashi also can have issues with dairy, corn, soy, refined sugar and casein...
Avatar f tn Are you on medication to help with your thyroid? And a hormone imbalance along with the thyroid issue (which is common) just compounds the hair loss issue (as you are finding). And what is also tricky, is you want to make sure your thyroid medication is not also causing additional hair loss. Taking medication at the proper dose should quell the hair loss otherwise.
700950 tn?1228607435 4 months ago I was diagnoised with a thyroid problem (Hashimotos). I know hypothyroid can cause constipation but my levels have been good for 3 months but my constipation is a bad as ever. Stimulants really help. I remember taking Phentermine 3 years ago and it work a miracle. I went 5 times the first day. Unfortunately most doctors won't event consider writing and Rx for it. What could be up with me? I have also gained 20 pounds in the last year. Can the poor digestion be related?
