Avatar f tn I'm 41 yrs old. Gained a lot of weight over the past 2 to 3 yrs. I'm having problems with shortness of breath that seems to come when I'm just walking outside walking or going some place. It's usually from the pressure that I feel in the upper abdomen center under my breasts. Like pit of my stomach. I have a lot of back pain radiating to the right sometimes very often. Also, radiates to the right flank.
Avatar f tn After a bad flu my husband went to GP who sent him for chest xray. Chest xray showed a bulge and he was sent to clinic where he was told it was not lung cancer but was sent for ct scan which showed a misshapen thyroid. He was then sent for an ultrasound which showed thyroid was functioning ok. They have now went back to chest xray and are sending him for a lung biopsy as there is a nodule which I am assuming was the bulge.
398849 tn?1210135972 Blanchard suggests that environmental toxins may inhibit production of thyroid hormone, noting that dental x-rays (where the thyroid is improperly shielded) and toxic chemicals are possible culprits. Also, age itself can be a factor, he says: "As our metabolic and immune systems slow down, we're more prone to infection and immune disease, both of which can manifest as hypothyroidism." Unquote...
Avatar f tn Saw doc today and he said my CT of my throat came back normal other than my right side thyroid is a little enlarged/no nodules. He ordered blood work and a chest xray today. I'm hoping to hear back from him tomorrow. No TB screen mentioned.
Avatar f tn My doctor said I had a swollen lymph node just below my thyroid gland that, essentially, didn't have the internal components of an average node. In her words, "there's nothing inside of it". Can someone explain to me what this means? I haven't found any information about that kind of irregularity. I'm getting an xray of it at the end of November. I'm not freaking out over it, it's only 1.6cm, but I'd like to learn more about it. Thanks for the help!
Avatar f tn The nuclear doctor recommended a repeat I-131 after 6 months? Chest Xray and TG ang TG antibodies. When should the Xray and tg be done? Will my Xray taken last feb 5, 2008 suffice? 3. What should I do? What do you recommend? Should I just wait for 6 months? Are there any other test to prove that there is really metastasis in my in my lungs and lymph node? I though RAI 131 150 mci would cure it together with surgery? Should I go another RAI Treatment? How many mci? I'm so worried?

Avatar n tn Remember, even if it is cancer, thyroid cancer is slow growing and usually does not spread beyond the thyroid. By November, it may not even get bigger.
Avatar n tn I am still in die off mode of the thyroid. As the antibodies destroy your thyroid you will need increases in meds, so it is important to stay on top of your levels. Make sure you are getting all 3 lab tests done: TSH, Free T4 and Free T3 Also want to add that thyroid cancer is the easiest to cure.....but don't worry unless you have to!
Avatar f tn Okay, xrays over and over and over without protective ...that's what's bad for baby. The chances that you will get an xray are slim, but the chances that you'll hurt your baby are none. A properly trained xray tech will shield your baby and still get good images. An MRI will also give good images, but you'll be laying in one position for upwards of 45 minutes and the magnet can irritate the baby into wiggling a lot which can cause blurry images.
800080 tn?1249664451 i saw my xray and it showed a fairly large white spot on the bottom of my right lung. my doctor said i have "lung damage" from smoking and advises to xray in a year. this does not sound right to me. i do not trust HMO's. I think they control the doctors decisions on who to treat and how much treatment to allow. i have quit smoking and feel pretty good except a nagging awareness (small ache) in the area of the white spot. can someone help me.
Avatar f tn I went to the dentist today and they did xrays but double gowned me (which is what my ob said to do) I'm feeling horribly guilty about doing it and can't stop thinking about what if it did or will cause problems. I'm 24 weeks and stressing.
Avatar n tn i had an xray done on my ankle, i am now having my period for the second within a week from it ending the first time
Avatar f tn I'm not sure! I'd call my ob asap that's def.not a good thing. I just went too at 11 wks and they doubled up the belly protection. Bc of it!! :-( I hope its.OK though!!!
534785 tn?1329592208 Has anyone read anything about thyroid problems--more specifically, thyroid cancer--and dental x-rays, especially for people who had not only the routine x-rays done every 2 - 3 years, but also had additional x-rays taken for things like braces, implants, etc.? I'm wondering if there's any correlation.
Avatar f tn I got very worried when my endo says it could be a recurrence and was instructed that my tg level should be taken after 3 mos (last wk of August 2012) and a repeat thyroid ultrasound and chest xray to check on the lymph node again. I was also informed that if my tg level is still below 1, the .5cm lymphnode could be an indication of breast CA or tuberculosis so I have to undergo mamoggraphy too. I dont feel any lump and I feel fine. Should I be worried on the .5cm lymph node found?
Avatar f tn Hi, You should get an ENT evaluation done, and see a gastroenterologist for your symptoms. Also, get a thyroid function test and chest xray done to rule out the other causes that could cause your symptoms. How old are you? Since when have you noticed this lump? Do you have any other associated symptoms. Let us know what your doctor advises. Regards.
Avatar n tn I am currently treating a thyroid problem but wonder if there is more to it I am die to go back and get my labs done again what should I be requesting? I can't get a MRI or XRAY at the moment this insurance wont pay for it.
168348 tn?1379357075 Confirmed what I expected - I definitely need surgery. The only question now is whether I should bother doing an FNA first. Was sent for chest X-ray (not quite sure why) and more blood work to rule out Hashimoto's. Nice thing was the doc's mom & sisters all have thyroid problems, so he seems to understand it from the patient's point of view.
Avatar f tn the result of my Xray is this. The heart is slightly enlarged with a CT ratio of.53. Atheromatous aorta. Slight cardiomegaly. Aorta is tortuous. slight scoliosis thoracic spine. I am also diagnosed to have toxic goiter. Can anyone please help me explain more about my health condition? Is the enlargement of the heart with that rate dangerous? what is cardiomegaly and tortuos aorta mean? Does my slight scoliosis or my toxic goiter have caused the heart problem? what should i do?
1503643 tn?1311518238 Saw an ER doc last week. He felt the swollen lymph nodes on my left side and upper left leg. I asked him what he thought. He said that 9 months is too long to call it a virus. He then said that it could be a leukemia or lymphoma. He said he wanted to do a cbc, xray and ultrasound. I told him I'd do the cbc and xray but could not afford the ultrasound as I no longer have insurance. Xray looked normal. He did the ultrasound for free and said that nothing jumped out at him.
744962 tn?1270942038 This is the thyroid forum. Are you hypo or hyper thyroid? You need to see a foot doctor as there are 26 bones in one foot and many tendons that could also be inflamed.
Avatar f tn It also suggest in my ultrasound report in a comparison from a chest xray that there is minimal tracheal deviation and I just had another xray done to see if any change, don't know the results yet.. I have been on synthroid well over 10 years and levels have always been good except my antibodies which were 600 recently. Should I get an opinion from an ent surgeon.
Avatar m tn A recent Xray showed my heart to be outside normal limits this has occured in the time since my last Xray 12 months ago. I have been on courses of prendisone for a repetitive chest infection for the past 12 months and I am still using a steroid inhaler. I am also on sinemet 500 for my Parkinsons condition. What could be the cause of the sudden increase in heart size. I am 72 years young.
