1139187 tn?1355706647 Hello, Would you happen to know what these uptake results mean? My dr. has no clue. I was off thryoid for 5 weeks when this uptake was done: "abnormal labs" on 9-29 the patient ingested 486 icu of I-123 orally. The uptake of the scan was measured at 6 hours and 24 hours. at 4 hours, 4.5 of activity was recorded but at 24 hours only 1% of activity was recorded. These values are below the limits of normal and suggest that the thyroid gland has been blocked.
Avatar n tn I just had a uptake scan, prior to this my labs came back normal. My uptake results are R= 6.6cm x 3.1cm and L=5.2cm x 2.8cm. It also indicates that the 4hr RAIU is 7.80 % and 24hr RAIU is 20.0%. My Dr. says that the next step is to have a ultrasound because the left side is a little larger and active. Based on these results it looks to me like the right side would make more since. He also said that the whole thyroid is enlarged. Could you explain this to me.
Avatar f tn Hi, I just got my bloodwork results they follow like this THS 3.160 Thyroxine (t4) 12.0 T3 uptake 25 Free Thyroxine Index 3.0 what does this means. I know I got all the symptoms of low thyroid and I am fatigue and tired all times but also suffer from severe depression, my next app. is on Oct 8.
1232907 tn?1367471737 I had a 24 hour thyroid uptake, haven't got results yet but I saw on the screen it said 74.4%. What does that mean?
Avatar f tn I have had three blood draws for my thyroid, and all of them show the same thing... extreme hyper thyroidism. However, I had a thyroid uptake and scan and my level was less than 1%, meaning I am very hypo thyroidism. My doctor has no clue as to what is happening and I have to see a specialist, but I am not able to see him for about 6 more weeks. I am concerned and would like to know a little something about what this could possibly be before I walk into his office. Please help!
Avatar n tn They did a T3 and that was borderline low/normal. In December I had a thyroid uptake scan. After 4 hours my thyroid uptake was less than 2%, they told me to come back the next morning at 24 hours and that showed "virtually no uptake." I finally got a copy of the scan results and was told to come back after the first of the year for another TSH. I feel so tired, and I just love to sleep. I hate that my boys probably just think their mom is so lazy...
Avatar f tn Hi all - need help with some results on thyroid. Over the last few years I’ve had signs of a thyroid disorder that I thought would likely be hachimotos. Always cold, rapid weight gain, fatigue, hair thinning, etc.. I was did an thyroid US and can back that I had a 6mm nodule. The doctor had me complete idione uptake and some bloodwork which have me a little confused on my results. My ts3 free 3.17 ts4 free at .65 (at the “normal low” and tsh at 1.14 (near he normal low).
197575 tn?1215532624 My endo called me and told me that I had uptake in my thyroid bed (this was my 1 year follow up for thyca) I felt my stomach sink and then he said that I wasn't going to have RAI again. He was just going to monitor me closely with ultrasounds. The two lymph nodes he has been following for the past 3 months did not show uptake. At first, I wasn't too happy or sure with the results, but hey, if I don't have to get RAI again, I good with that.
Avatar n tn Just got my thryoid scan and uptake results today. The diagnosis section lists multinodular goiter, hyperthyroid, abnormal laboratory studies. The 24 hour uptake is 25% which is upper limits of normal range. The dominant nodule is warm. I have had bloodwork come back with TSH showing hyperthyroid but t3 and t4 are normal range. The ultrasound showed a 1 inch nodule. What does all this mean?
5820022 tn?1378512355 Hello! I just got back from my RAI uptake scan and I was curious about the results. I know normal thyroid uptake is 10 to 30%, but what are typical results for someone with Grave's Disease? Mine was 78.5% and the radiologist is going to call with more info after she looks over the pictures. Anyone have an idea of the range?
Avatar f tn I got my results today and my thyroid showed a level of 9....my doctor says normal range is around .4 and my throid is not functioning. I have to have an ultrasound and thyroid uptake scan...this is like another language I have no idea what any of this means....
Avatar n tn It makes me confuse, my blood test indicates my thyroid is hyper but my uptake exam shows my thyroid is hypo or I have thyroiditis. is it normal? can these results be different? although my blood test shows I have hypo why uptake shows I have thyroiditis or hypo? please help me.
Avatar m tn I had a full body bone scan done and the results came back as only showing uptake by my tooth area only.I got a copy of the scan and the uptake is on every bone in my body from head to toe and it is very heavy. That is what I would have expect to have seen. All the finding from the x-ray are missing. I had a thyroid scan done and all the finding again are missing.
Avatar f tn My thyroid test came back normal however the thyroid uptake scan, came back that I had Graves disease. The doctor is currently not doing anything. He believes that I do not have graves, but the scan was done three different times and each time it came back with the same thing. What do you suggust?
Avatar n tn Findings: There is tracer uptake in the left thyroid bed. Pattern is homogeneous. There is minimal tracer uptake in the right thyroid bed. Pattern is more suggestive of a large hypofunctioning nodule within this region. Does not correspond to the recent ultrasound. There is palpable mass in the right neck. 26 hour uptake is 3.3% Is a hypofunctioning nodule the same as a cold nodule? Did enough uptake occur for an accurate scan? Does the 3% mean even the left side?
Avatar f tn Had a thyroid with uptake done last week. It took a lot longer than usual so the tech said because thyroid was slow to uptake. She said this meant hypothyroid now I am so confused. I have been so tired for years, very sensitive to cold, leg and feet pain and never feel rested. I really don't think my doctor cares. Said he has to wait until he gets written report to treat with med. Symptoms have been worse the past 2 years. I really don't know what to do.
Avatar n tn She also said that my blood work was normal but my uptake results were not. Here are my uptake and blood results: Blood work: SED RATE 12 RANGE < OR =20 mm/h Thyroglobulin anitbodies <20 RANGE <20 IU/mL Thyroid peroxidase anitbodies <10 RANGE OR 20 years: 0.40-4.50 Uptake results: Findings: There is homogeneous radiotracer activity within bilateral thyroid lobes with no hot or cold nodules identified.
