Avatar n tn Decided to see a natural path. Hope this might help others. Well I did have luck with the natural path. he was able to explain all my symptoms. Everything is related to hormones. Estrogen, cortisol?, and thyroid.he drawed a diagram and walked me step by step through every symptom and why. I didn't mention that I have hypothyroidism(thyroid is non active)- I've had it for 14 years and just don't think about it , it's just part of my life.
Avatar n tn I have switched to Armour thyroid in 1993 (Hyperthyroidism from Graves Disease and the removal of my thyroid gland) since I found I was allergic (or having a reaction) to synthroid. The symptoms after starting the synthroid was a metal taste in my mouth. I kept developing more and more symptoms every month I was on it (digestive problems, staid muscles) until I finally (after being on it for nine months) developed rheumatoid arthritis symptoms over my entire body.
Avatar f tn Thyroid nodules are very common. The least concerning nodules are cystic nodules, as in your case. The most concerning nodules are solid nodules, especially those with microcalcifications, which are suspicious.
Avatar f tn Post your thyroid numbers as well, TSH, FT3, FT4. Sometimes what a doc says is 'fine' is not fine for you. The kidneys need an adequate amount of thyroid hormone.
Avatar m tn Your diabetes is not helping your kidneys and to have high blood pressure along with this, your kidneys are going to suffer. Keeping your BP within a healthy range benefits you in so many ways. I hope you are on medication for the thyroid problem. Great job on being so healthy at your age, I wish you continued good health! Take care.
Avatar n tn Despite what they say, i think duplex kidneys are hereditary, I was born with two duplex kidneys (removed at age of 3) My brother has three individual kidneys, my sister an extra uether, my son a duplex kidney, my neice an abnormal kidney and my granddaughter is undergoing investigations but they have found that her left kidney is abnormal. Co-incidence??? I dont think so..
Avatar f tn He was more concerned with the fact the my kidneys seem to be full of calcium deposits. He did blood work and urine test which all came back fine. I am still concerned. I don't understand what could cause this and if its something I should be concerned about. I've been having problems with severe bloating and pain the I can only describe as a constant pain inside of me.
Avatar f tn A high BUN level can be a sign of dehydration, illness or too much protein in the diet. It could also be a sign your child's kidneys aren't working well although you haven't mentioned any other symptoms of kidney dysfunction. It's worth having an ultrasound of your child's thyroid gland to see if it is enlarged.
Avatar f tn Thyroid replacement hormone goes into your blood, and blood gets filtered. But if hormone got filtered out, you would die. The T4 (thyroxine) is changed to the active hormone T3 (triiodothyroninevia) mostly in the the liver and hypothalamus, and brain. This process is a called two deiodinases (or something like that)..... One atom of iodine is lost per molecule (deiodinated) - thus, the change from 4 to 3. T3 is absorbed into cell tissue via blood.
7831604 tn?1399711007 I will start off by saying I have no idea where your kidneys are but on my left side Above my hip/under my ribs I am sore its sore when I am turning or bending. Could this be my kidneys?
Avatar f tn So I know what the pain feels like, and with my first pregnancy I got one bad kidney infection that I actually thought was me going into labor, until I got to the hospital and found out it was my kidneys. This pregnancy my kidney seems to always feel swollen. Especially once I start feeling like I have to pee. I can hardly get comfortable laying down because of it. I've never had kidney stones and would hope to not ever get them.
Avatar f tn Hello there, Medullary sponge kidney is a condition in which cysts develop in the urine collecting ducts and tubules of one or both kidneys. The exact cause is not known. The common symptoms are pain in the back, haematuria, excessive amount of calcium in the urine. The complications are kidney stones, infection and kidney failure. Treatment is usually symptomatic. It is best to consult an urologist and get your doubts clarified. Do keep me posted with more queries. Best wishes and regards!

Avatar f tn I'm 34 weeks and my kidneys are just killing me. I went to the bath room this morning and I had to pee so bad but it was like I was blocked off. I had a uti already with this pregnancy and I don't think that's what it is. The doc confirmed that I had got rid of it. Does anyone possibly know why my kidneys could be hurting so bad.
Avatar f tn I'm nearly 9 weeks pregnant and in pain with my kidneys is this normal?
5373382 tn?1369738172 With your 50 eGFR, they will monitor that for three months, yes? It it remains low, that is indicative of kidneys not working properly. I understand your concern. What does your doctor say about this. I would stay hydrated during this time. When caught early, these things can be improved! Stay on top of this. Blood pressure okay? Diabetes checked? These are big ones to make sure are under control for the kidneys. Let me know any update.
Avatar f tn I had my entire thyroid removed back in 1994, they told me i had hyperthyroidism/Graves disease. I was fine up until about 06, when i started getting body aches in my thighs and legs. Long story short, i was diagnosed with first peripheral neuropathy, the 2nd opinion neuro said fibro. The last two months have been hell for me. Avatar n tn what are peoples experience of alchohol and how it interacts/relates to thyroid problems?? I have allway drunk a fair bit..... since my teens really..... when I was much younger I have no problems with hangovers. then around the age 22 onwards I would have intermittent periods of mood problems and fatigue, but also I would get mega hang overs.... bed ridden ones that might last for days, then other times they'd not be too bad.
Avatar f tn If this has developed gradually kidney disorders and thyroid function should be evaluated. In case of allergic disorders antihistamines like Claritin or Zyrtec can help. It would be better to let it settle on it’s own in a couple of days, but if this is chronic then placing tea bags, cucumber slices, drinking plenty of water, avoiding eye make up are some of the measures to control the situation. Hope this helps. Best.
