219609 tn?1210348114 While this is reported in the handout on HCTZ, there is not much published in the clinical thyroid literature about an effect on thyroid levels and I have not noted in practice that HCTZ alters thyroid levels in any significant way. So it is unclear if it had an effect in your case. An US could be done to see if there is any significant thyroid tissue -- that would not prove it is active tissue, but be a starting point to see how much is there.
Avatar m tn I just was not feeling well so I went to an Endro and he some blood work and of course the tests were not accurate and he said I was on too much thyroid and it could effect my heart, He lowered it some and said to come back in a month. Last week, I went to my family dr., and I took all my lab work from the summer and he said that I don't have thyroid problems. He told me to quit it last week and that he was going to consult with the endro. this week.
1542673 tn?1293223810 I have surgery scheduled on Tuesday, 22 for removal of the right side of my thyroid, the left was taken out about 2 years ago. My nerves are not being good to me right now as I am worried about how I will feel after the surgery is done. Many of you had shared your stories quite a while ago when I first posted what was going on...but being the big baby I am more reassurance would be lovely.
Avatar m tn I am a 59 y/o male who, in my early 50’s I developed symptoms of chronic internal shakiness, jitters, and queasy stomach. The symptoms are present 24/7. Neurologist diagnosed me with Essential Tremor Syndrome; however there are no visible external motor tremors. The lab tests were normal, although the dopamine and nor epinephrine levels are on high range of normal. Only thyroid tests were the Free T 4 and THS, both of which were normal.
Avatar n tn Had to look up what the 02 diet was- I see green tea is recommended on it. If you have been drinking that, it's got caffeine. Caffeine could explain jitters and having trouble with sleeping. You might also want to get your thyroid function checked, to be sure hyperactive thyroid is not the source of symptoms for you.
Avatar f tn A TSH test is useful as a diagnostic only when at etreme levels. In order to adequately diagnose a potential thyroid problem, the actual thyroid hormones must also be tested. If tested for the active thyroid hormones, Free T4 and Free T3, please post results and reference ranges shown on the lab report. Also, you should have been tested for thyroid peroxidase antibodies, TPO ab, and if negative, then thyroglobulin antibodies TG ab. Did that happen?
Avatar f tn i have jitters in my stomach and cant stand to be closed up in a room or alone and my breathing is heavy what do i do?
Avatar n tn I123 Thyroid Uptake and Scan OR Thyroid Untrasound with fine needle aspiration? Are there any other tests that would be advisable? My friend (RN) indicated that the I123 test was best in diagnosing....Please advise. THANKS SO MUCH.
139126 tn?1255036991 50 mg of Synthroid for 1 week at the time of the test. Dr had to cut down my dose due to major jitters and palpitations. TSH=1.45 (was 1.16 3 weeks prior) Free T4 = .96 (was 1.16 3 weeks prior) Total T3 = 108 (was 115 3 weeks prior). My Dr says these levels are within the normal range but I'm concerned that they are going in the "hypo" direction.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Ativan and Xanax for the shakes and jitters. Recently I have had my thyroid re-tested and my level is 0.6 which has dropped in the last 5 months from 1.8. I am still told by one of my doctors that it is still in the normal range and not to worry about it, and to go see a psychiatrist about more meds. I am wondering that even still in the wide spectrum range of 0.2 -4.0 if this could be hyperthyroid and the 0.6 is not a normal level for me.
Avatar n tn When I was first diagnosed with Hashimotos the main symptom was heart palpitations, and some muscle weakness. As soon as I was started on Synthroid those symptoms all went away. I have been successfully managed on Synthroid for years, but then I wasn't converting T4-T3 well, so my MD put me on Cytomel in addition. I was doing well on Cytomel 50mcg and Synthroid 50 mcg for about a year. Lately the heart palpitations came back.
996769 tn?1249681013 here's an example of a label that says do not use if you have --- thyroid disease Caution: Do not use BreastSuccess if you are pregnant, nursing, or have any of the following conditions: high blood pressure, heart disease, thyroid disease, glaucoma, diabetes, difficulty urinating due to prostate enlargement, or if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for two (2
Avatar n tn What are some of the serious long term repercussions of having a TSH level of 0.03? I've had on overactive thyroid with my 1st pregnancy, this being my 2nd it has dropped lower and lasted a little longer. I've lost a LOT of hair and am constantly jittery. I had more bloodwork done yesterday and the Dr. said it has improved a little and want's me to wait 2 more months to see if it improves any more.
Avatar m tn For the last three weeks I have been experiencing, tingles, jitters, flutters, tremors, vibrations, inside of my body, I just want whatever it is to be gone, I don't rest at night because when I lay down it seems to get worse, what is happening and what can I do about it. I really don't like this feeling.
Avatar m tn Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had normal thyroid test levels, and was prescribed synthroid to reduce thyroid swelling, and no other purpose for the medication. Did synthroid reduce thyroid swelling ?? Any side effects from the medication ??
446193 tn?1208833740 I have had Hypothroidism for several years and have been on many different doses and types of thyroid medicine. I have never had my syptoms undercontrol. I have continued to have intolerance to cold, weight gain, hair loss, dry skin, etc. I have went to Endos but have relied on my gp. to monitor. I am so tired of "them" not listening. I try very hard to plead my case but all they react to is the lab work, which has always indicated hypothoridism and throw pills at it.
Avatar n tn I have taken wellbutrin XL 150 for about four years, but recently it stopped helping. My doctor added effexor XR 75 and trazodone 50mg to try to settle my horrible anxiety and pick me up from the dark depression I started experiencing about 2 months ago. Two weeks ago I was hospitalized for medication adjustment. I was awesome (except for jitters and high pulse rate 102-140 daily) until 3 days ago I started having anxiety every morning and cry all day for no good reason.
Avatar f tn I just started thyroid meds last year in October and on 1/16 of this year was changed from 50mg of Levo to 1/2 gr of NP Thyroid. I have been increasing it slowing and had reached 2 gr and was actually going to increase again this weekend to 2 1/2 gr. My questions is this. I started my period yesterday and it felt like I was suddenly over medicating. Jittery, irregular heart beat (premature beats - not racing).
Avatar m tn I have been taking ultram/vicodin for the past 6 years. I started on vicodin (up to 6 10/325 a day but only about 4 a day average, then after 3 years switched to ultram rather the generic version which I took no more than 4 a day (average 3) for 4 years. I quit cold turkey 5 days ago and withdraw symptoms (cold sweats, uncontrollable temperature variations (too cold/too hot, can't regulate) were actually extremely mild, but the jitters, they are persistent.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum - I've been on Zoloft for 5 weeks, slowly increased my dosage to 100mg, been on 100mg for 2 weeks and I've been experiencing the 'coffee jitters' for the past week. I know as soon as the jitters and shake go away I'll be cured from this terrible anxiety! My question is: did anyone else have the jitters and shakes, if so, when will it go away?
