484160 tn?1343397921 Assuming that the tests will confirm your hypothyroid condition, you might also initiate a discussion about what meds the doc will prescribe and what test result will be used to determine your dosage. It is not in your best interest for the doc to use TSH as the measure of whether your dosage is correct or not. It would be much better to use free T3 and target the upper third of its range. This should give you the best result as far as alleviating symptoms.
687194 tn?1244811182 I have had swelling in both legs for a couple of months now but I have noticed my left lower leg & foot is more swollen than the right. I have an underactive thyroid that my Dr. is currently trying to balance out. I know that can cause the swelling but what causes one leg to swell larger than the other?
Avatar f tn To better answer your questions, we need to have a look at your thyroid related test results, and reference ranges shown on the lab report. Also, does that ferritin result of 95 represent conditions before or after the phlebotomy?

161647 tn?1280608163 I have been on the 88 dosage for 10 days and my fatigue is gone and I am sleeping much better. However, now I have pain in my right leg and the leg feels cool. 3 days ago it started to ache and then go away. Today it's hurting all day. Could my leg pain be a thyroid issue?
1970987 tn?1325806201 Its in my left leg near my ankle but the rest of my leg has more of a rolling spasam feel sometimes with a slight cramping feel. I did have a bad (spontainious) staff infection in the bone of that leg 11 years ago with a septic ankle and almost lost the leg. I had 5 surgeries to flush the infection from the bone. I had been worried this might have returned. I do have a few health issues like diabetes (insulin dependant) and take a beta blocker as well as thyroid meds.
Avatar f tn I would see a nerve specialist, I would not expect your thyroid surgeon to admit it as a possibility, I questioned my Endo once about taking my thyroid out, and get it over with, because of Hashimoto's, He advised against it, and his reason was that unless the surgeon was a skilled Endocrin Surgeon, that other surgeons sometimes remove part of or damage the Parathyroids, that are located behind the thyroid itself, so I guess if they have surgeons that will have errors, and in that sense cou
Avatar n tn t think it is DVT, same in both legs, and throughout. Others are all good possibilities though my thyroid has been checked in past with it being okay. My sister does have hypothyroidism. Don't really know the genetics involved with it. Thanks again!
Avatar f tn You are not feeling well because your meds are not adjusted properly. Your TSH is still quite high in the range. Many people are not comfortable until TSH reaches the lower end of the range (currently accepted range is 0.3-3.0, you lab is using an antiquated range), or even below. Your T4 looks good. However, I would be reluctant to say how I thought your meds should be adjusted without seeing FT3 first.
Avatar n tn I have muscle twitches all over my body and weakness in my arms and legs. The weakness is more pronounced in my left leg and arm. Occasionally my knees feel tight. At night, I have had strange feelings in both upper arms. Almost like the blood doesn't flow right and I feel like I need to move them. I have had times when my face twitches and it looks strange. Most bothersome is my throat feels funny. I can't tell if my throat is twitching or tingling, it just feels terrible.
Avatar n tn I often wake up with numbness/ weakness in my left leg. It used to be my lower leg, now it's most of my leg. I don't think there is anything much you can do about it but I find the more I walk around, the faster it returns to normal.
Avatar f tn A couple weeks to a month ago I sat down and completely lost feeling and movement in one leg. My leg went stiff and motionless for close to 6 minutes. I was worried for a while but later thought nothing of it. In the past week I have been falling down without tripping, etc. constantly. I'm extremely fatigued, weak and very thirsty. I have slept 12-13 hours and still been unable to stay awake. I was at the doctor last week and I got tested for diabetes, anemia, lyme disease and mono.

466103 tn?1206935479 I have had a numbness sensation in my left forearm down through my two fingers, pinky and ring, for just over three months now. I assumed it was due to a pinched nerve and hope that the feeling would subside over time. Well, it hasn't. Now, in addition, I have the same feeling in the top part of my leg from the knee to the hip. And on occasion feeling a horrible burning pain just above the left knee.
Avatar n tn Aside from pressure on a nerve, there are many possible causes of numbness in the face or leg such as nerve injury, medication side effect, pressure on peripheral nerves from enlarged blood vessels, tumors, scar tissue, or infection, lack of blood supply to an area and medical conditions such as diabetes, migraines, transient ischemic attack (TIA), stroke, underactive thyroid, vitamin deficiency and abnormal levels of calcium, potassium, or sodium in your body.
