Avatar n tn No I am not taking thyroid medicin since my T3 and T4 is normal however TSH is around 6 and it is called sub-clinical hypothyrodism. Further I am slim and my weight has not incresed because of thyroid problem.
Avatar f tn Some thyroid sufferers do not respond to Levo, Neither my wife nor I had any changes in thyroid levels with Levothyroxine, but had a marked improvement with Synthroid. MD's and Pharmacy's will tell you there is no difference, but it does exist with certain patients. And as Gimel stated if the medication is not having an effect on your metabolism and you are still Hypo, would explain your weight gain and other symptoms.
Avatar f tn This can be one of the GERD sensations and symptoms. It's not always heartburn as the esophagus is long and can send some non-descript feelings along its length when it's irritated such as pain, lump in throat, tightness, nausea, "flutter," etc. Drugs and food can affect the sphincter and allow stomach acid to backflow from the stomach to irritate the lower esophagus.
Avatar m tn I had my thyroid removed 11/08 due to papillary cancer with some metastasis to lymph nodes. Had RAI 1/09, did feel tired and some GI discomfort, all symtoms improved. I started to have nausea/sour stomach issues a few months later and these continue. I initially used the over the counter products Prilosec, Zantac, etc, my doctor tested me for H Pylori, negative. He concluded that I may have an ulcer and prescribed Nexium.
Avatar f tn I am pretty certain that this terrible feeling in my stomach is not related to time a day or dosage of Prevacid. It is not a reflux/gerd situation. I have no other complaints or ill feelings. It starts about an hour after taking my synthroid pill and is beginning to stay with me most of the day. Usually it is better after lunch but reoccured that night. This has only started 6 months after TT and beginning 137 mcg Synthroid so not certain Synthoid can be blamed.
Avatar m tn s FREE T3 and T4, not Total) and TSH, along with thyroid antibodies, Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb), plus a thyroid ultrasound to make sure nothing is pressing against your wind pipe. Acid reflux/GERD is a very common symptom of hypothyroidism. If you have it, that's all the more reason to get thyroid hormones tested.
Avatar n tn My orthoped felt that my thyroid was too low, even though it was still in the normal range and told me to have my regular doc look at the test results. he took one look at it and said it was normal. what neither doc noticed, was that BOTH the FreeT4 and the TSH were at the low end of normal---they did not catch that my TSH should have been at the high end of normal if my Free T4 was at the low end of normal---the first indication that i could possibly have a pituitary problem.
Avatar n tn Since stopping this OTC, I still have a lump feeling in my throat, and when I eat at night, it feels like my stomach is weighted down. No irregularity. Only a couple of days when taking the Prilosec. I'm not in any pain. It is just uncomfortable, and I know this is not right. I do worry because a few years back (2006) I had by chance found someting on my thyroid. It was tested, and found to be benigne. But again this worries me. I'm sure it does not help that I smoke.
Avatar n tn I've been having horrible stomach pain. An endoscopy showed bile in my stomach. I had my gallbladder removed 9 months ago, probably unnecessarily. Why is there bile in my stomach and what is causing it?

1392168 tn?1280074408 I have had these types of stomach pains before, they are like intense cramps usually ending in diahrea, and when I have had them before - wether I have gone to the toilet or not - there has been no blood. I have had this problem before, about a year ago, once or twice. I went to the walk-in clinic and they examined me briefly but said nothing seemed to be the problem. The blood just stopped and it hadn't happened until recently.
824295 tn?1241652549 Last Jan I was having stomach problems and had a endoscopy done and was told I just had a irritated stomach. By the end of Feb stomach symptons went away and I felt good. Avatar f tn Another thought...Occassionally, 4-8 weeks post Thyroid ablation, patients have a surge of thyroid hormones that cause a ton of problems. I don't know if this is the same for thyroid removal patients, but it may be worth looking into...
Avatar n tn I have had a thyroid problem for 15years now .It started with hyper had iodine treatment now have hypo. I was 125 pounds a year ago ,now 200 plus pounds and my stomach is very bloated. Avatar f tn I have IBS and frequent upset stomach. I now have a full heavy feeling in my throat that comes and goes.....the easiet way to describe it is that is feels like I need to belch, but cannot. Even if I do belch, there is no relief. What could this all mean and do I need to get to a doc???
Avatar f tn Then after those 2 weeks, I began to feel so tired and could not even climb the stairs in my house. I had the doctor order lab work and was shocked to see how low my labs are.I was on Synthroid 175 prior to switching to NT. I did read that Synthroid lingers in the blood for 2 weeks until total dissipation...I'm wondering if this is what caused the sudden decrease in labs and my extreme tiredness.
