Avatar m tn s more likely to be an endocrine or metabolic disorder such as a thyroid, pituitary, or adrenal problem or even something like Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). You should see a doctor for a workup. Best of luck to you!
Avatar n tn I have been tested for just about everything including arthritis, thyroid problems etc. The problem i have is that my body swells up from head to toe. The tops of my arms, my elbows, knees, shins, tops of feet, jaw etc. I am swollen 24/7. Doctors can't figure out what is wrong with me. I do know that i get horribly worse when my time of the month comes around, but the hormone/thyroid tests came back fine.
Avatar f tn Hello - I consider myself relatively knowledgeable about medicine but was without words when my doctor told me I had fluid in my cul de sac and that I should probably have my ovary removed. I initially went in for extreme pain prior to ovulation and ultrasound revealed the fluid, also one 2cm cyst on each ovary, uterine enlargement, uterine thickened to 12mm. I actually have two uteruses, the left uterus is thicker and that's the side that has ovarian pain.
1737879 tn?1386202314 To add further complexity to your diagnosis, you had thyroid tissue in your left ovary (teratoma with struma ovarii), which in itself is not cancer. Per the report, it appears that this thyroid tissue then become cancerous. The comment made by the pathologist towards the bottom of the report refers to staging, which is how much the cancer has spread.
Avatar f tn Thyroid hormones and estrogen go hand-in-hand for many of us. I was just the opposite - had an ovary removed for PCOS in '96, thyroid cancer in '03, other ovary removed for PCOS (huge, hemorrhagic cysts) in '06 and ongoing fibrocystic breast disease. All are fed by hormones (either thyroid hormones or estrogen) and many, many of us on the forum have these problems.
672990 tn?1235143638 I seen your posted question and was shocked...In August of 2008, I had surgery to remove the left half of my thyroid due to a 4cm benign nodule that has several smaller nodules behind it. I am 47 and I have already gone through menapause at 45. I went to my gyno for some pressure I was feeling and a sonogram showed I now have a 4cm complex cyst on my right ovary.
Avatar f tn The right ovary measures 2.8 x 1.8 x 1.3 cm in diameter with the left measuring 3.2 x 1.8 cm in diameter. There is a small ring like area of echogenicity in the left ovary that may represent a recently ruptured follicle measuring 1.1 cm in diameter. What would you recommend as a care plan moving forward? Do you think I need surgery, replacement hormones, hysterectomy or what? My HGB A1C OLY came back at 6.0 which is high considering the reference range is 4.8 - 6.
356929 tn?1246389756 Cyst in my breast and nodule in my thyroid. High blood pressure and type ll diabetes in which has been connected also with thyroid I have. The old question I wonder is "the chicken or the egg". What caused what first.
1737879 tn?1386202314 I was diagnosed in 2006 with malignant struma ovarii with papillary carcinoma in my left ovary. They left my ovary and only removed the mass. I then went for ca125 and radioactive iodine scans pet scans everything at that time was clear. I stopped seeing the Dr in 2010 due to losing my health ins.
Avatar n tn t help. My Thyroid levels came in low, my blood sugar was slightly elevated and my WBC were just a tad low (not enough to worry I was reassured) The pain has just been increasing so I went to an OB/GYN and he felt my ovary was very swollen so I had an ultrasound and transvaginal right away. It showed a large fluid filled cyst on my ovary, however it was on the left side and I had most of the pain on my right side.
Avatar f tn We also have found out that 3 women in our church and that live in our area also have thyroid nodules (they are all under 40). None of these people had thyroid problems before and we all moved to this area 5 years ago. Do I need to worry that there is something in our environment that is causing these nodules. Two out of the five so far are cancerous.
Avatar f tn Boy, I sure hope not at 25, since you have your other ovary. Go see your ob-gyn or a specialist in fertility and have your hormones and your thyroid tested. You might consider hormone replacement therapy if they find you are having a problem.
Avatar f tn I don't think so because the new report didn't mentioned any of that except that some cysts in ovary.... I guess its pcod!!
Avatar m tn Complex 3.4 x 1.6 x 1.0 cm fluid collection which appears to be nuclear in capsule. This is most likely cyst. Follow-up sonography would be useful to confirm resolution. Trascutaneous songraphy was performed first, then, to better visualize the adnexa and endometrium endovaginal sonography was obtained. Information for endovagional sonography: Uterus is retroerted. It measures 8.5 x 6.4 x 6.1. It is heterogeneous in echotexture. A hypoechoic mass is present posteriorly.
Avatar f tn 1 was the size of a cantaloupe (4 lbs) and 1 was the size of a water balloon. In 2008 and 2007 they removed 3 cysts both times on each ovary. In 2008 they removed 1/4 of my right ovary. Lately I have experienced hot flashes, cold flashes, very thirsty, mood swings and severe weight loss. I was 146 lbs while pregnant and now I am 122 lbs. Are these symptoms normal? I have asked 2 doctors and they don't give me straight answers.
Avatar f tn nearly 15 lbs.), benign, fluid filled cyst on my left ovary. During surgery, I also lost my left ovary and tube. I was 37 years old at the time of my surgery. I am an average size woman. (5ft. 6in. tall, and I weighed about 130 lbs. after surgery.) Ever since then, (a year and a half later) I’ve had extreme difficulty getting up in the morning. I’m also depressed in ways I was not before having surgery.
Avatar n tn 95% of all cysts on the ovary are benign, but they can and do cause symptoms like you are having . A thyroid can cause the other problems as can a hormone embalance. How was he able to tell you that you have an inlarged ovary with a cyst?
Avatar f tn I went to docs to follow up some blood tests I have hashimotos and was feeling exhausted sleeping up to 3 hours in the day while kids at school while I was there for results I mentioned bleeding we went back over records and he came across one that said 18 months ago I had a 4cm cyst nobody told me he was shocked and sent me for an ultrasound and they ended up doing a tv as well. They found an 89ml ovary and a 6ml ovary.
Avatar f tn I had a CT scan they told me I have a large cyst on my right ovary. Can this have something to do with my Thyroid? In spite of my hormone levels being normal. Thanks for your help.
Avatar m tn Ive been to the doc twice, i pass out, my blood pressure drops, a get nauseous, i get bloated ( no cramps at all) n cant move (because of the pain), extreme constipation, and debilitating pain in the middle side of my right side of my abdomen. Yes, the doctor found a cyst but why is the pain in the middle and not lower? And he said that the cyst is only 6 by 4 cm so it shouldnt be bad, he said their very common and i should be fine, theirs no need to take it out.
Avatar n tn On color flow, spectral doppler imaging, there is flow in the left ovary with peak systolic velocity of approx. 7.2 cm/sec seen. Can you tell me what any of this means? I just turned 46 & have had abnormal periods/missing periods(went 1 year without a period-also 6 mths-now over 2 mths at a time) then extra periods, changes.
Avatar f tn i had my right ovary taken out in 2010 and i have been getting these very severe hot flashes i am also having pain when i run and walk do you have ny ideas on whayt it might be i am only 16
Avatar f tn My wife had a nodule on her thyroid and turned out to be cancer 14 years ago and she had to remove part of her thyroid. It usually is the procedure, however, she takes thyroid medicine and never had an issue with it. It usually is not a scary cancer and does not matestasize. Check with your doctor and get it taken care of so that you can move on with your life. In regards to your cyst, your doctor can do a biopsy of the cyst to find out if it is anything worrying.
Avatar n tn I had no history of family issues with ovaries or any reproductive cancers. I am in all respects a fluke. I had hysterectomy but they left my ovaries. Ten yrs later I started having a lot of pelvic pain. I had the run around and never was taken seriously. I had 6 pregnancies, had been on the pill and by all statistics at next to zero risk. I ballooned in the abdomen and gained fifty lbs in less than a month. I saw the dr. Asked I I had a thyroid issue. He said "no, you are just fat".
1418727 tn?1282487078 I also have Hashimoto's. I am TTC as well. I found out I was pregnant in March but miscarried. The good news is it wasn't because of my Thyroid. You do need to go on medication to regulate it though. Unregulated Thyroid problems will cause infertility and miscarriage. You need to get on some meds to help regulate it and then you should be able to carry a child. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn Testosterone production from the ovary is increased by insulin resistance. Metabolism tends to be sluggish -- but not due to the thyroid. Metformin usually induces 5-7 pound weight loss in these cases, but I have not dealt with this issue for many years so there may be more up to date data. If thyroid levels normal, looks like thyroid is ok at this point.
Avatar f tn I am 21 days late now, took 4 urine test and all negative, i went to the doctor since i was feeling little bubbles on my left ovary and have minor pain with cramps. I took a blood test and it also came out negative. Now i just have back pain, it gets strong while im at work, and certain days i have minor cramps. As well little vibrations on my left ovary which i remember feeling when i was pregnant of my first child.
