Avatar n tn I had to leave work early yesterday because I had this thumping in my chest and no matter how many deep breaths i took I just didnt feel like myself. I went to urgent care doctor over a monthg ago and my TSH was very high, went to a cardiologist and was given a heart-trak but everything was fine. (so they say) I finally got into a doctor at Washington Hospital Center again and my levels were normal! I also had a bleeding cyst that in my neck that the doctor didnt think was serious.
510230 tn?1211721183 t handel the added stress...This is scary, I had thyroid cancer in 2001 and had the thyroid removed. Then in 2003 I had a RAI. Now what could this be in my chest?

Avatar f tn Hi, You should get an ENT evaluation done, and see a gastroenterologist for your symptoms. Also, get a thyroid function test and chest xray done to rule out the other causes that could cause your symptoms. How old are you? Since when have you noticed this lump? Do you have any other associated symptoms. Let us know what your doctor advises. Regards.
Avatar m tn After 22 years of ongoing study, in 1972, Dr. Barnes published the results of his work in a book, Heart Attack Rareness in Thyroid-Treated Patients documenting his work with 1,569 patients. The Framingham Study would have predicted 72 of Dr. Barnes’ patients should have suffered heart attacks. Only 4 occurred! And those four patients were on low dose—none of the patients on higher doses of thyroid hormone (NDT) had a heart attack. At least 30 of Dr.
Avatar f tn During the CT scan of the chest to evaluate the lung nodule, the protocol includes glimpses of the neck and thyroid area. Therefore the finding of a thyroid nodule in this setting is "incidental" but does need ultrasound for further evaluation and probable biopsy given the size.
Avatar m tn Hi there, I agree with Barb. You should call him and schedule a time to have blood work done again as soon as possible. Don't ignore chest pain! If you have thyroid nodules, ask him about those and how those can possibly effect hyper/hypo symptoms The nodules should not go unnoticed. Sometimes they can be nothing, and sometimes they can cause your hyper symptoms. Did he say why the thyroid uptake scan didn't work? Could you do another one? I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar n tn For the longest time they would only occur in my arms or legs, but recently I had the strongest of the attacks, it was in my chest and shoulders and was much stronger than ever. Of course since it was in my chest I went to the ER and they cleared me of any heart related problems, they did blood tests and cleared me of any thyroid of diabetes problems.
Avatar n tn Hyperthyroidism should be suspected in case of burning in eyes and hot and sweaty upper body. In females above 40 years it can be a symptom of menopause or premenopause. Peripheral neuropathies as in diabetes too should be looked into. Fibromyalgia is another possibility. It is unlikely to be a cancer as endoscopy would have caught it. Take care!
Avatar f tn All the blood work came back fine except for a slightly low thyroid, along with the EKG and chest X-ray. They say the chest X-ray has eliminated anything life threatening so the ED just sends us home. I am not sure exact. We have been to three different ED even to get the same answer. That she is fine. During her episodes her pain rises quickly, a stabbing pain, her lips get pale sometimes even blue, she gets extremely dizzy and weak. It can last for a hour or 12 hours.
603883 tn?1219963767 I believe in my heart of hearts that the buzzing under my breast is either due to blood pressure medicine or Anxiety. I was taken to the hospital recently with chest pains and while waiting in the "holding room"...several "situations" which were highly stressful for me sent me into an anxiety attack and I couldn't stand to be under that plate that takes pictures of the heart during a stress test.
Avatar m tn I hope my suggestion helps. I hope you feel better. P.S. Run hot water in a sink, put a towel over your head and breathe in deeply the steam. Do this 3 times a day, your throat might feel better.
Avatar f tn Forr tha past few months it has been dizziness and chest pain. Now it is the lump in the throat type and difficulty in swallowing feeling.Have recently had some genuine problems with my stomach that have been treated, but was wondering how common such a symptom is amongst everyone else here?It is as if it feels "too real" to be anxiety related.
Avatar f tn For the last few days directly in the center of my chest where my cleavage is i have a cold sensation, weird tingly sensation. 499534 tn?1328704178 Welcome Laura to AR's world....hmmmmm....I DON'T LIKE IT!!!! LOL So i need to try my darndest to ignore it.........yeah..........great!!!! I wouldn't doubt that i have an acid reflux thing going on too, my stomach has been hurting big time.....i think i will try some tums....we will see what walgreens has tomorrow. The ones they prescribe seem to have too many warnings for my liking. Well that certainly stinks that the thyroid causes such discomfort in the ribs....
Avatar f tn I have strange 'twinges' in my chest from time to time. Okay - I smoke about 10 cigarettes a day and drink 3 nights a week. It is what it is. The twinges are like a sharp pain that shoots through my left breast to the middle of my chest and only last for a couple of seconds. I tend to rub my left breast during these moments. I am clear of breast cancer and have had cardiograms..nothing shows up. I have heard of a problem with an extra sensory nerve to the heart.
Avatar m tn I am a 24 year old man. i'm having a lump in my left chest around the nipple. It's been about 2 months. The lump is not visible but can be felt on touching and it pains on touching too...
454221 tn?1259445739 I could do daily activities would not bother me. I asked my doc to give me a chest x-ray in January 08, but she said it would not show anything since I was not wheezing at the time. Late Feb 08, I started to have mild chest aches/pains. Thought it was from being tired so I waited a week to see if it got better. I went to ER March 3rd for the mild chest pains and doc said I had little bronchitis still. Gave another z-pak/alburterol.
188508 tn?1210548106 Hi I would like to know if anybody has tingling in the fingers & sometimes in the chest area. The stonger the tingling the more trouble i have sleeping. My last tsh was 6.5 & my endo started me on synthroide but the tingling got progressively worse & also got less sleep.
Avatar f tn HR would spike in 200s, elevated BP, SOB, chest pain, tightness in chest and throat, heavy lump in throat, flushing, weakness, tingling and numbness in legs and arms...pratcially every known SVT symptom all at once. EP doctor diagnosed it as left atrial tachy. I am 6 weeks post ablation and feel much better. Ablation seems to be succesfful but dr said there were a few more spots that could give me trouble later down the road.
Avatar m tn I have this same thing happen, and for what I know it is the thyroid dumping hormones. The thyroid is in that area of the throat and drips the hormones you need, but sometimes if you have a sluggish (Hypothyroid) or overactive (Hyperthyroid) it can suddenly dump a large amount of hormones all at once. It tastes very bitter, and in my experience its bitter, medical, and oily tasting. You may want to get a blood test to check for either condition.
Avatar n tn Had a chest X-ray as a follow-up to Thyroid Cancer and they said that looked OK but X-ray showed what looked like old scaring. What does that mean?
Avatar f tn on the 9 may 2012 i went to london to see a private doctor whittfield st,Ihad a chest xray and full blood count dune, which was not cheap, my chest xray is fine but my thyroid is 5.20, the doctor i saw said i have an under active thyroid, and he said i need treatmeant, also my cholesterol was slightly high,5.9.HD L cholesterol 3.3. Avatar n tn If my pituitary gland is doing its job, then it adjusts tsh to maintain normal thyroid levels, yes? So tsh can go up and down but as long as my thyroid hormones are in range everything is working? I ask this because my fT4 and T3 levels were in the "expected" range (according to the lab sheet) both times they were tested. I wonder why she put me on levothyroxine if my actual thyroid hormone levels were in range and I had no symptoms.
Avatar f tn My doctor cut my dose in half and planned to recheck in 3 months. Meanwhile I developed tremors, heat intolerance, chest pain, and irritability. So I quit med on November 23 and repeated labs on nov 25. Labs were still high..TSH .02. T4 2.5. So doc said I did the right thing quitting the med and plans to recheck in January when all of med is out of my system. I'm still having light tremors and horrible chest pain.
Avatar f tn But as you are complaining of headaches and earache as well as chest pains, it sounds that you have an infection in your ear and chest. You would be wise to see a doctor to check your ear and chest for infections who may find that you may need a course of antibiotics. In the meantime you can take pain relief as recommended on the packet for your pains. Keep warm and drink plenty of fluids, avoiding milk products because the promote the production of mucus.
