Avatar n tn I had blood tests done because my thyroid feels enlarged and I have been very tired and emotional, hair is thinning ,rapid pulse rate etc. The Dr. said the thyroid tests came back normal but a few things were flagged. My HCT was 36.1, WBC 12.17, Abs Neuts 8.5 and Abs Mono 1.1. They said these were all in normal range or close and they said all was normal. I am wondering if these are indeed with in normal range. I am having a ultrasound on my thyroid tomorrow.
1157646 tn?1343967128 Bloods were done 12/3. The dr has booked the test to be repeated in 8 weeks and she has included a thyroid antibodies test from reccommendation from the lab. TSH 4.0 (0.40 - 3.50) Free T4 13.1 (10.0 - 23.0) The people from the lab commented on the results and said "Possibly mild hypothyroidism boarderline TSH level. Suggest repeat TSH and free T4 in 8 weeks. Consider also performing thyroid antibodies test". So, because the TSH is high, im slightly hypo...
1569091 tn?1295808551 Hi Barb; You are right. We thyroidless people tend to worry waaaay too much about things that are not worrying about. It could have been that way when I had a thyroid, who knows. YEP, I've managed to stop worrying so much too. The blood in your urine is probably a byproduct of your thyroid. After all our bodies are not working like before. There are times, when I get the funniest sensations. They are scary, but, they eventually go away. Your opinion on your doctors.
Avatar n tn Please post your thyroid related test results along with reference ranges shown on the lab report. Also, please post the calcium test results, and dates when tested, that you referred to as fluctuating so much.
Avatar m tn The ranges are far too broad, due to the erroneous method used to establish them. In the words of a good thyroid doctor, ""The free T3 is not as helpful in untreated persons as the free T4 because in the light of a rather low FT4 the body will convert more T4 to T3 to maintain thyroid effect as well as is possible. So the person with a rather low FT4 and high-in-range FT3 may still be hypothyroid. However, if the FT4 is below 1.3 and the FT3 is also rather low, say below 3.
Avatar m tn Subsequent monthly tests have revealed trace, small and now large units of blood in his urine. His thyroid test came back critically low and we made an appt with an endocrinologist. His primary doctor said to cancel this appt because the thyroid test was sub clinical (?). His erythrocyte dist width in his blood work is also low (11.7). He also has a high erythrocytes count in his urine of 32 as of 20 Feb. He is tired and nauseated most days and has lost 15 pounds in three months.
Avatar m tn Just got my blood test results. Says my results show an elevated anti-thryoid antobodies but were otherwise normal. Says my throid hormones are still in normal range and to check again in three months. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn Hello, I just got a call from my Dr.s asst. to tell me that my TSH was .6 on a blood test that they did last week. I had Follicular/Pap. cancer and my thyroid was removed back in 04. The Dr. wants me to come in and have the Thyrigen shots (spl.?) and then a body scan & ultrasound. I am also going through menopause (I'm 48). Could this have any effect on my TSH levels? I am scared that the cancer has spread.
Avatar n tn Such infections often cause wide swings in thyroid hormone secretion and can result in hypo- or hyper-thyroid conditions. Prof.

Avatar f tn If you test TSH, FT3, FT4 and TPOab, you will be in a much better position to eliminate thyroid as a possibility. Bear in mind that both FT3 and FT4 should be in the higher end of the range for most people. If you have those tests run, you can post them here if you'd like, and we can help you interpret them. If you do, please post reference ranges as well because they vary lab to lab.
Avatar m tn Normal values for TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) range from 0.4 - 4.0 milli-international units per liter (mIU/L).
Avatar f tn From your test results I'd say that you do have a thyroid problem First your Free T3 is much too low in the range, and second your TPO ab test indicates Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. With your Free T3 that low, and your Free T4 at mid-range, it appears that your body is not converting T4 to T3 very well. So I suggest that you should also test for cortisol and ferritin since they affect conversion.
Avatar n tn I am trying to get a test that is called the THYROID ANTIBODY (ANTIBODY AB) TEST. The long exact name for this test according to the lab that offers the test is ANTI-THYRO GLOBULIN ANTI BODY TEST. HOWEVER, I CAN GET THIS test much cheaper at other labs. but the name is slightly different. At the other lab it is called an ABS TEST, and the long name for it is THRYO GLOBULIN AUTO ANTIBODY TESTS. Are these two tests the same exact test?
Avatar n tn ve taken three home test all came back negative went to the doctor this past Tuesday and did blood pregnancy test and checked my thyroid. The pregnancy test came back negative and my thyroid came back fine. A week before last I was having nausea, headaches and some hot flashes. I really felt like I was pregnant but then the blood test came back negative, but I've still not started. Please help.
Avatar f tn From your symptoms and those test results, however, I would say that you are hypo. All of your test results are in the lower part of their ranges, or possibly below. From what we hear so often here on the Forum, patients continue to have lingering hypo symptoms until FT3 is in the upper part of its range and FT4 is at least at the midpoint of its range.
1564087 tn?1308947518 As a said before you need to find a good hematologist and endocrinologist also you should also get your parathyroid check in addition to the complete thyroid and adrenal panel. You might want to get your vit b12 and feritin tested in addition because your blood tests are low especially your hematocrit.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, your doctor is like so many, thinking that if labs are "in range" everything is fine. Testing at one year intervals is nowhere near adequate until your symptoms have been alleviated. Rule of thumb for FT4 is mid range (50%); your result is only at 32% of the range. Rule of thumb for FT3 is upper half to upper third of the range; your result is only at 35% of the range.
