Avatar f tn My sister is a physician's assistant and she has many thyroid patients. Awhile ago she told me that with all the different generic thyroid medications out there, it was nearly impossible for her to successfully manage TSH levels, because each patient might be on a different generic, and though the generics are supposed to be the same, the simple fact is, many aren't.

Avatar m tn After about a week, I visited the ER and had blood tests, another EKG, and a chest XRay. The other thing that came out of this was that the level of whatever released thyroid into my body was high however my actual thyroid level was normal. After approximately 2 weeks of the lightheaded feelings, I visited my family physician who has placed me on Ativan to see if the reduction of anxiety would help the situation. It really hasn't.
Avatar m tn Family doctor thought is was anxiety but I never have heart palpitations, I tried medication and it amplified my symptoms; had blood work and thyroid panels and nothing shows up, if I cough, yell, laugh, drink all those things intensive my lightheaded ness and make me feel like I'm going to pass out, I was a smoker until about a year ago when this started. I completely quit cause I didn't know what was wrong...Then others tell me its just menopause.

He also states it feels as if his R eye is twitching. He is most frustrated with the fact that it is difficult for him to explain the symptoms.

1757391 tn?1346127363 If you have headaches and hot flashes and lightheadedness with a feeling of passing out, you could be having either polycystic ovarian disease or GERD with or without H pylori infection. These are the two conditions to be ruled out first. If you use computer a lot or read a lot then the symptoms of headache, dizziness, neck pain, numbness etc could be due to compression of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine region.
Avatar n tn Have you been tested for thyroid disease? This causes brain fog and lightheadedness also. The cough could possibly be an inflamed thyroid. Thyroid disease is very common in women....more so as you get older. It also can cause heart damage if left untreated. Get a copy of your tests and check the results for yourself. The new TSH range is 0.3-3.0. Many of us have been told we are borderline or normal when in fact we need thyroid medication.

Certain types of epilepsies and seizures too can cause similar symptoms. If you have an accompanying headache then you must also look at benign intracranial hypertension. Heart problems too should be ruled out in your case. If all other tests are normal, maybe an ECHO should be done to rule out mitral valve prolapse.
