Avatar f tn With my first two children I had hyperthyroidism after both children and have a very fast resting heart rate (130 bpm) and was put on beta blockers until my thyroid resumed normal function. At that time (8 years ago) I also had a stress test and echo and all was normal, other than the crazy fast heart rate. The irregular heart rate started again 11 months after my last child who is now 2 1/2. I thought maybe the thyroid was resurfacing again.
Avatar m tn Some last a second and some 5 to 10 seconds. My ECG is normal and my thyroid is fine. It is debilitating and leaves me short of breath. My doctor doesn't know what's causing it. Does anybody else have similiar symptoms?. I am searching for answers and hopefully a cure.
Avatar n tn Doctor took bloods and ECG, said heart was fine - thyroid was normal to low - it took him ages to give me Levothyroxine, I started off taking 50 mcg now it's been put up to 75 mcg - heart palpitations are less frequent, but I'm easily tired.

Avatar n tn My father is 69, he has always been active and healthy about 4 years ago he started having blackouts, he has an irregular heartbeat that was treated 10 years ago but as I said 4 years ago started passing out.
Avatar f tn However, bc of a glitch in the pharmacy system my refill was not issued and it took a week for the fill to be complete. During this time I missed 4 pills. Im having irregular heartbeats and dizzness. Has this happened to anyone who has missed a thyroid pill??
12182312 tn?1427683956 Hello . I am having an irregular heartbeat for some time now. I'm going to see a electrophysiologist soon. My question is what medical conditions cause irregular beats. Also what is the best method of treatment and also, can thyroid disorders cause this also.
Avatar f tn I then had my thyroid levels tested (as irregular heartbeat is a symptom of thyroid issues). My thyroid levels were low, i went on meds and it got better. After i delivered i was able to go off the meds. I'm pregnant again and the weird heartbeats came back...back on meds!

335728 tn?1331414412 We had to do a 12 minute walk first but before we start they check our resting BP, Heart Rate and O2 level. So resting my heart rate was 94 and it is always between 90 and 95. So I started walking and did so for 6 minutes and then they checked my heart rate and O2 level with their little machines that they use with that doodad that they put on your finger. So when she checked the heart rate it was at 61 after walking as fast as I could for 6 minutes!
Avatar f tn I was starting to out guess myself after reading some but I do believe I am in atrial fib and have been for a month, my heartbeat has been very irratic and I am not sure when the ups and downs began, at least 2 weeks ago though. I was visiting a friend who had an oximeter and we checked my pulse and it was very irregular and up and down. I guess what I really want to know is can I leave it like this until I go home if it continues or should I be seing someone.
460185 tn?1326077772 Twice in two weeks it has said I had an irregular heartbeat. I took another reading right after and at various times during the day and there were no more such readings. This machine has also told me that I have moved when I haven't and that there is an electrical problem when there isn't (I've tested it). The problem is that in March I had a heart attack and had a balloon/stent put in my artery so I am really aware and afraid of things going wrong.
Avatar f tn I am 44 years old, approx 190 lbs and have been binging and purging for the past year. This is something I have been dealing with off and on since I was a teenager. Recently I am being woken up in the middle of the night, my chest feels heavy (no pain), my extremities seem to go cold then my heart races until I can calm down, take deep breaths and slow it down. What is happening? Should I be worried? It is occuring every other night.
Avatar f tn I went to the doctor and they didnt do any tests and they said its just anxiety. I feel like im crazy. Maybe it is anxiety but the fast and irregular heart beats and the dizziness and weakness last for hours sometimes for a whole day. Mayb I should just give up and see what happens??
Avatar f tn They sent me hm w/diagnosis irregular heartbeat and an ekg monitor i had to wear for 24hrs. Im confused as to what it all means. Can you shine a light on the subject for me?
Avatar f tn Quick question for you please and thanks. I have been completely checked out by and EP (10 years ago) and numerous cardiologists because of PVC's and PAC's (not too many around 100 per day). Everyone says I am fine but I had kind of a scary thing happen the other day. I do have an anxiety disorder because of these heart arrythmias but would like to know if it is really normal when I feel ANY stress what-so-ever my heart will go irregular.
Avatar m tn The vagus nerve runs alongside the heart and can be irritated and cause an irregular beat. I think you are wise to see the doctor and be checked out, but it is a very familiar story on this board. I would not be overly concerned unless they tell you there's something to be concerned about. Our aging hearts behave differently than when we were younger also. The anxiety these episodes cause it often worse than the event itself, in my experience. Good luck and let us know how you are.
Avatar m tn The doctor is telling me that their is nothing they can do and that they will just recheck her in a year. Well my mom also had an irregular heartbeat and i am worried that it may be a genetic thing as well. I just want some answers as to what i can do as a mother to maybe get her heart back regular. Not only that, she is a twin and was born 3 months premature. Could that have anything to do with it? The doctor is also thinking it could be the medicine she is on.
Avatar f tn Hello All, what is one describing when they say they can feel their heart irregular. I mean I have tachycardia and feel it skip beats and flip flop but how can you feel an "irregular heartbeat" just curious. Thanx in advance.
Avatar n tn irregular heartbeat monitor as well as manual heartbeat counts provide 40 or sometimes less pulses per minute. Even bloodpressure sometimes 90 over 44 pulse 39. Medication Cipalat Retard tablets 20mg 1 tab twice a day.
Avatar m tn 'Irregular heartbeat' is quite a vague term but presumably you mean skipped beats. Assuming you mean skipped beats (PACs and PVCs), it is very common to feel them less when the heart rate is elevated. In fact, many people are provided relief from their PACs and PVCs through exercise.
Avatar m tn But since i was around 12 years old i always have this unusual heartbeat and then goes away. Most of the time it makes me cough. I was told once that it was the heart re-pacing itself and only some people can feel it do that. When i was 13 i went to a couple of specialist heart doctors and all of them told me i was ok. But even today i still feel that weird heartbeat. It's like a 1second hard thump and then the beats go back to normal.
Avatar f tn ve been having these weird heart beats where my heart has been randomly speeding up and then slowing down and then it repeats itself again I do have asthma and allergies and I've taken my inhaler but it has not my improved my condition so I don't think it's related to my asthma. Should I get this checked out? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I was at my first midwife appointment today and she said everything looked fine except my pulse is irregular and she is sending me for a ECG on Monday. I'm absolutely freaking out. Has anyone else been told they have an irregular pulse or know anything about it? She told me not to worry myself about it but it needs to be looked at. I'm really quite scared and not sure what to do.
Avatar n tn I am a 45 yo female. History of anxiety/panic attacks. In February 2006 I went to the ER with SOB and chest pain. I remember the term IST after my EKG. The cardiologist admitted me. Over the next three days I had blood work, Echo, thallium stress test, monitoring, and a catheterization. I was told it was anxiety, had exercise intolerance and needed to lose weight (I weighed 175 at that time). I have since lost 45-50 pounds, but still do not exercise. I always had normal bp (120/80).
Avatar m tn Can a pinched nerve in your neck affect your heartbeat? I have had 4 abnormal EKG and yet the Echo and the treadmill tests show no problems. I never considered that the neck problem may be a cause. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
