150937 tn?1235943880 This has just begun happening, and I was wondering if any of you have ever experienced it, and what to do about it? I am 34 years old, and I have a thyroid problem, but it is an underactive one..so with that you usually get COLD..not hot??? Any ideas would be welcomed.
1444606 tn?1284399329 You could have a blood test done to have your thyroid function checked.
Avatar m tn I had to stop my synthroid myself to see if it was causing the excessive sweating and it was. The bad, excessive sweating stopped!!! Was a happy woman. 6 months later DR tested and wanted me back on Synthroid, and I said only the lowest dose I will try. Its only been 3 days on 25mg/1 a day and I'm sweating again!!! I just can't understand how one low dose pill can be so damaging to me....
Avatar n tn Can you please give us more information to better answer your question? Have you been diagnosed with anxiety, are you male or female? I'm asking that question because if you're a female there could be a hormonal imbalance or menopause. If you have anxiety that may be the cause of your sweating. Also, if you're on meds like and antidepressant sweating could be a possible side effect.
Avatar n tn I was attracted to this string because of its title, "Hypothyroidism and excessive sweating." While I appreciate all the time folks have taken commenting on this subject, I can't follow all that has been written. Can/will anyone address, in simple language, the following: Most of the information regarding thyroid trouble indicates that sweating can accompany hyperthyroidism and sensitivity to cold goes with hypothyroidism.
Avatar n tn I am 35 years old and for the past year any little thing I do I start sweating to the point where the hair on my head and face are litlerally dripping with sweat. It looks like I just got out of the shower. I am wondering if I have hormone issues. I go to my GYN in 2 weeks for my yearly exam and I am going to request he do some hormone panels on me. My mom and grandma swear I am going through menopause already.
Avatar m tn Playing for 3 hours non-stop is a little excessive and can cause excessive sweating caused by ketosis if you have a fast metabolism like me (not eating enough carbs) and that isn't a good thing. If you are healthy, there really shouldn't be a terrible smell to your sweat. The smells are toxins being released, which is good, but if you sweat regularily, keep well hydrated and eat properly, you shouldn't smell bad when you sweat at all.
Avatar m tn But, if there is a real medical condition with my thyroid that is increasing the sweats and heart racing and body aches, even by a bit (because those symptoms are really, really getting rough), I'd like to address them. The tough part is finding someone to address them with:). And so I got on this site. It's part of my education.
Avatar n tn I am suffering from excessive heat and sweating problem form last 6 yrs, due to which I am unable to socially mix with people. My face is always wet and I feel very nervous due to it. I use to take 20 cigarettes daily and drink liquor once in two days. I also use to eat more spicy food. I use to work with a team of 200 people in office, but only my face is wet and I feel very hot, even when the temperature is cool around me. Kindly let me know, if any cure is possible.
Avatar n tn i am getting excessive sweating with just little bit of physical work. or even while in normal condition.at room temperature.this is happening since ladt year .Iam 32. i think its related to anxiety.
Avatar n tn Excessive anxiety can also cause these symptoms. Certain food products and drinks can also excessive sweating. I think it will be a good idea to check the diet that she is currently on, she can maybe stop it for a few days and eat normally and see if it makes a difference. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I was wondering what the best medications are for stopping excessive sweating and anxiety. I think the anxiety causes the sweating. But the sweating affects my life more than the anxiety. Is an anticholinergic drug the best choice? I thought that might help my chronic stomach pains too.
443862 tn?1237999439 Hi there, I'm waiting as patiently as I can to see the Professor endo that my doctor got me into - April 21st. In the meantime I've developed this other symptom - excessive sweating and hot flashes - I'm not sure if it's from the thyroid, because hyperthyroid says intolerance to heat. I'm not intolerant to heat, it's 68 in the house at night and yet I go to sleep and wake up sweating and really hot. pins and needles in my arms and chest.
Avatar f tn Though hyperhidrosis may refer to excessive sweating or perspiration, in a broad sense, but still excessive sweating into arm pits ends up at a cosmetic clinic. Bad smelling arm pits (may or may not be present), uncomfortableness, lessened social activity , or clothing to mask ,low self esteem can be annoying. It might happen to various reasons psychological, emotional and social perspective, medical conditions or unknown causes.
175861 tn?1428182413 I was sleeping and for an unknown reason woke up and it felt hit in the room. I changed positions and got the covers off me and thought that's all it was but I just kept getting more and more sweaty. My fan was on too and the sweat kept coming. My heart rate was normal, temp was normal. I mention that b/c I have had panic attacks but with those my heartrate is high and not so here. After a few min of this I started to THEN worry. Lasted about 7 min.

Avatar n tn Several years ago I was diagnosed with hypo but after several years of taking levothyroxine I started having rapid pulse, excessive sweating and felt just plain hyper physically and mentally. I recently developed a small tremor in my right hand. I decided to quit taking the levo for a month before getting blood tests and I feel better but still have the tremor and excessive sweating. My TSH came back normal 3.9 ?(without taking the levo) so my doctor isn't too concerned.
Avatar n tn If there are others in your husband’s family who suffer from joint and body pains then it would be worthwhile to rule out rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, diabetes and thyroid disorders. Diabetes and thyroid disorders can also cause profuse sweating. If a lump was found in kidney area then tumors of adrenal gland should be looked into. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!
Avatar m tn i am always sweating, mostley from my head, torso and hands, but my body is always feeling hot, even when my skin feels cold. Is there anything i can do to stop this as it is takeing over my life. it has been going on for the past 5 years, and before that i still had it, yet it wasnt as bad.
Avatar m tn ve had blood tests done to see if it related to thyroid and nothing came up. There is no panic/anxiety associated with it. Just unnatural, excessive, embarrassing, gross sweating.
Avatar f tn Hello, You seem to be suffering from Hyperhidrosis ((excessive sweating). It may be primary (without known cause and usually starts during childhood or adolescence and persists all life) or secondary (as part of an underlying condition like Hyperthyroidism or similar endocrine diseases and dermatological conditions like eczema, psoriasis). It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn Does she have any symptoms, other than the sweating? There are other conditions, not thyroid related, that can cause excessive sweating, as well.

Avatar n tn I am a 40 year old male and I have had excessive sweating for the past week or so. It is so bad that I have to change my shirt at least 3 times a day. i wake up every night with soaked sheets. I have sharp pains in my chest every once in a while but was checked out and they said my heart was fine. i also had a stress teat and they said I was in good shape. Any ideas what this could be?
Avatar f tn brain fog, insomnia (no sleep for weeks, double doses of various sleeping pills did not work), excessive generalized sweating, and painful sex. Three years ago, these 4 continuing, I became nauseated, dizzy, faint, major indigestion (never experienced previously), no energy. I can be up and moving around for 70 seconds before the symptoms become unbearable. Two ent's say my ears are not the problem. The painful sex has been resolved with an estrogen cream.
Avatar f tn t need any of the other tests, He is convinced my problem is not thyroid, but has no idea what is wrong. Symptoms - excessive sweating, fatigue, poor sleeping, tingling hands in morning, dizzy upon arising (usually just after lying down), pains here and there, and I do have osteoarthritis. I also have IBS and other digestive issues. Now I'm not sure what to think if thyroid is ruled out. Any suggestions?
