Avatar n tn I had a scan which showed adenoma below right thyroid. I then went for an ultrasound and am now frightened.
Avatar n tn Asymmetric uptake inferior to the LEFT lower pole of the thyroid may represent parathyroid hyperplasia, less likely parathyroid adenoma." Like I said, since nothing "jumped" out at the docs (ENT) with all of these scans, they will not operate and almost refuse to believe the symtptoms I have (low energy, fatigue, mild acid reflux) correlate with the condition b/c they believe my Ca+ is at normal to high-normal levels. What would you recommend I do next?
Avatar f tn History of benign thyroid adenoma removal with confirmed biopsy of Hashimoto's. Still have numerous stable(in size) nodules. TSH went from1.8 in March, 2009, to 0.185 (0.400 - 5.300) in November, 2009. Would probable cause be: (1) new adenoma with hormone secretion (2) Pituitary problem (3) Adrenal insufficiency?????
Avatar m tn The most common cause of high blood calcium is a parathyroid adenoma. An adenoma is not malignant. There are four parathyroid glands behind the thyroid gland. Occasionally an extra parathyroid can be elsewhere in the neck. You can have a Sestamibi Technetium scan to see possible enlarged parathyroid glands or adenoma. The nature of the mass in the parotid salivary gland should be cleared up. A malignant tumor can also cause high calcium.
Avatar n tn I am a 31 year old female, I got this Thyroid mass biopsied back in 06. I do not have insurance and can not afford to have it removed. But, I have been worried about it lately. I was just wondering if someone could help me understand my results? Thank you! Numerous follicular cells, many forming microfollicles, few macrophages and colloid consistent with a follicular neoplasm. This is a very cellular cytology, suggestive of a follicular neoplasm.
675329 tn?1297288378 i had this condition in 1991 which i had surgery to remove one parathyroid gland with adenoma on it. can this happen again. does my thyroid nodule have anything to do with this. i am taking vit d3 1000 mg daily for low vit d level which i started last fall. vit d level still low but higher than it was. thank you for any help you can all give me.
Avatar f tn Other causes of hyperthyroidism are thyroiditis (thyroid inflammation) in early stage, toxic adenoma or multinodular toxic goiter. For the latest two you need to know if any nodules were present in your thyroid. The uptake alone may not show enough results unless accompanied by imaging [to see if it was uniform uptake for iodine –Grave’s disease or only local areas of increased uptake-other causes].
Avatar n tn according to his FNAC report, he has follicular adenoma of the thyroid gland.surgoen suggested that it to be removed by surgery.plz tell us your opinions on this . can it be cured through medication. if yes suggest names of medicines. tell me type of specialist or surgoen for treatment of thyroid gland.
Avatar n tn Hi I am a 56 year old woman who was diagnosed with an prolactin producing adenoma about 12 years ago. I was treated with dostinex. I haven't taken any meds for several years now as my last mri showed it to have shrunk. I do not have any of the symptoms like breast discharge, either. I have been having thyroid problems with my tsh at .055 and free t3 low as well. I had been put on Armour30 2x daily but these are the results after 2 months.
Avatar f tn My initial visit with an Endroconologist diagnoses me with Hypothyroidism secondary to an anterior pituitary adenoma. She told me to find another Endroconologistbecause her specialty is fertility issues. I went for another opinion with Endrocologist #2 and she said I had Hashimotos. Then 2 years later she told me I did not have Hasimotos "just Hypothyroidism" An MRI aand Lab tests diagnosed the pituitary adenoma by Endoconologist # 1.
928269 tn?1245554802 The Dr. think it can be benign but the final results will shows the true... not medication was need it at this time......Are follicular adenoma benign most of the time?
909102 tn?1258799033 However you mention toxic adenoma -- this is an over-active thyroid nodule causing hyperthyroidism. The way to confirm this is thyroid ultrasound and I-123 (nuclear) scanning. Removal of the adenoma is an appropriate treatment. A toxic adenoma would not be due to the lymphoma or radiation and is a benign (non cancerous) condition. Lymphoma can involve the thyroid, but this is not common. Would talk with your doctors for more information. With a toxic adenoma the TSH would be LOW.
Avatar f tn Ultrasound of thyroid gland shows a complex predominantly cystic nodule in the isthmus and left lobe region of the thyroid, measuring 2.4 x 2.1 cm in size, suggestive of a follicular adenoma with cystic changes. Advise FNAS if increased in size.
Avatar n tn t think you had a adenoma. I am glad you are seeing and Endocrinologist. I also have thyroid nodules, and I have to have scans every 6 months to "Watch" them. I was told anything over 1cm should be FNA, but so far, they have not done that to mine. Hope this helps, and also, hyperparathyroidism causes lots of health issues, and you can find lots of info on the symtoms on the net. I had them all!
Avatar n tn Hi Dr. Lupo, I have a question about a result I received on my neck MRI w/contrast. This was done to try and find a parathyroid adenoma. My doctor doesn't seem concerned about the result, but I am. Here's the reading: "A 7mm in diameter round T2 hyperintensity is seen inferior to the left lobe of the thyroid along the interior lateral aspect of the left trachea. This lesion does show evidence of enhancement and may represent a small parathyroid adenoma.
Avatar f tn Doc, I've got a nodule in my right thyroid lobe, tsh 0,25 T4 23, lot's of ear pain, no leucocytosis, next monday FNA (again, first fna was inconclusive). My doc was thinking of Thyreoditis, Toxic adenoma, a benign nodule or maybe cancer. Personally i don't think its a toxic adenoma. What do you think? http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i479/M-aartje/schildklier1.jpg thanks!
Avatar f tn Did the Endo you see now explain the pituitary adenoma? Did she determine the nature of the adenoma? There are five or six different forms. Did she determine your TSH output could not be improved by treating the adenoma? Possibly bolster the TSH output with hormonal treatment of the pituitary? Your Free T4 should be in the upper end of the range, not the lower end. It sounds like she is keeping you hypothyroid and you will never feel better like that.
1069633 tn?1255242989 A Thin outer fibrous pseudo-capsule is present, with no obvious lympho-vascular or capsular invasion, and the appearance would favour Hurthle cell adenoma. Nuclei are rounded with small but prominent nucleoli, and fairly evenly spaced, and the appearances are not typical of thyroid papillary carcinoma. The remaining parenchyma shows some patchy mild (to moderate) chronic inflammatory change with lympho-histiocytic cells, and some parenchymal atrophy, most obvious at the isthmic margin.
Avatar m tn Hello - I am new to this site and although I have thyroid issues (Hoshimotos / Hypothyroidism), my question is regarding the Parathyroid. However, I could not locate a specific Parathyroid section on the Forum list. I am almost two months post Parathyroid surgery. I had a 2.1cm adenoma removed. Pre-surgery my PTH was 198 and immediately following the surgery my PTH dropped to 48. I just had a checkup with my Endocrinologist to check all levels. My calcium was good at 9.
Avatar f tn I had the left side of my thyroid removed in 2006 due to 2 large nodules (4cmx3cm). The next day, they discovered it was encapsulated papillary cancer. I was put on Levoxyl. Fast forward 10 months, I had an ultrasound and they discovered a 5cmx5cm mass on my left side. The FNA report stated it was a follicular lesion. The endo's nurse said not to worry and they would see me in 6 months... I can feel this pressing on my trachea and my vocal cords. Is a lesion like an adenoma?
Avatar n tn i have a thyroid nodule/adenoma and my doctor just put me on synthroid 100mcg for 4 months to shrink this adenoma is this process correct ???
