Avatar f tn I also have some numbness on the left side of tip of thumb to the first knuckle. I use a splint, have tried both topical and oral anti inflamatorios, as well as ice. Not getting better.
Avatar m tn The pain in the sore spot is still there, but it has lessened and become more diffuse - that is, I feel less pain when I put pressure on it, but I feel it through the entire thumb tip now rather than just at the sore spot. I also feel it around the whole cuticle, which is swollen. This makes me think the infection is occurring through the entire thumb tip and under the nail. The tiny sore spot was just the tip of an infection iceberg.
Avatar n tn crushed thumb in car door slamming it and then pulling as did not realise thumb was jammed 5weeks now still painful on tip and upper joint with pain on bending thumb how long does an injury take to heel and do you think ive done perminent damage sue
Avatar m tn After holding down the spray can for some time with my left thumb, i noticed that when i stopped, there was a very severe case of what one may call numbness, others may call super sensitivity from the pad to the tip of my left thumb. I expected it to go away after a few minutes, but lingered for almost a day.
Avatar f tn m not able to stretch my arm completely (specially when the thumb creates a slight extension), and the pain seems to follow up to the antecubital space. The thumb feels colder than the other fingers and a bit numb at the tip. Since I'm a musician (pianist), I'm very concerned, because it makes it very painful (if possible) to play with my left hand. Should I be worried that this could get worse?

Avatar n tn cannot even hold light pen between thumb and for finger without severe stinging pain and swells up again as soon as start exercises,..
Avatar m tn Well, I noticed that the numbness that I felt at the tip of my thumb and on the side of my thumb was continuing weeks after the surgery. I did see the orthopedic surgeon after the surgery and he said that hopefully it would heal, however, sometimes the numbness is permanent. I'm sure in my case it's permanent since it is now nearing the two year time span. The fact is that my thumb does not hurt and it does not trigger. That is a vast improvement and I just accepted the numbness.
Avatar f tn Interesting..........my fingers (thumb and pointer finger) have been peeling a sheet of skin, the finger nail yellows, tips of figers literally crack down the middle, and the new skin underneath is read and tender. This has been happening for the past few years; I'm going to trace back to when I first noticed and when I purchased my smart phone/touch screen.
Avatar n tn A related discussion, Fingers burning sensation was started.
Avatar m tn The pain in my upper back/lower neck came back really bad, as did the numbness in my index finger and tip of my right thumb. Turning my head does not seem to help. Doctor prescribed Vicodin and muscle relaxers, plus physical therapy. Since this is an HMO (Kaiser), Physical therapy was 6 weeks out. I went to a Chiropactor while waiting on PT. The Chiropractor took xrays and said my disc at one level (lower C or upper T?) was very narrow and told me there was nothing he could do.
Avatar n tn Shooting pain in my hands with itching up the tip of my third finger and around my thumb in a circle. In addition, I have back and pelivic pain. Can anyone help I can't stand this pain. I need to walk again. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I have numbness and tingling in the pad of my thumb ( from the tip of my thumb down to the first crease marking the joint). What can I do to treat this problem and when should I seek medical treatment?
Avatar f tn Gyan Mudra Gyan mudra is a simple hand gesture that involves touching the tip of the thumb to the tip of the index finger while keeping the other fingers straight. This mudra is believed to stimulate the root chakra, which is associated with the pancreas, the organ responsible for producing insulin. Regular practice of Gyan mudra is said to improve insulin production and regulate blood sugar levels.
Avatar m tn Small peeled skin area was on the side of my thumb approximatell nest to my knuckle. I was using the tip/pad area of my thumb for the 3-4 secs i was touching her. Is there a chance that transmission of HIV can occur under these circumstances?
Avatar n tn i severed a tendon in my left thumb i cannot pull the tip back im in constant pain. the skin has healed but the tendon is still severed i did not get surgery due to financial issues.
Avatar f tn A few days ago i started noticing some numbness on the tip of my thumb. Each day it seems to get a little worse. Now the numbness is in my thumb, pointer finger, palm and up halfway up my arm. It doesnt hurt, just numb and tingly. In the beginning the feeling would come and go, now it seems to be more constant. As far as i know i didnt do anything to injure myself. Is this serious, who should i see?
Avatar m tn This has been here for 5 days sinec Sunday night and it looks like it is slowly spreading or showing up in different parts of my mouth, though the tongue keeps going on and off with pain at the tip and whiteish puss looking things that are connected with extremely red tastebuds around it that are the size of a pin head.
Avatar m tn For more than a month the skin on the top of my thumb at the tip of the nail has been peeling. When it started it dried out and cracked open and peeled back revealing fresh pink skin underneath. As that skin lightens and "matures" it cracks open, peels back and reveals a new layer of skin. Its a never ending cycle. There was never bleeding or pus, but when its revealing the new skin it is tender.
Avatar n tn I had profound arthritis in the right basal thumb joint. Almost 3 months later, I still have a lot of pain especially if I accidently bump it. I cannot bend the joint. I went through therapy and have done therapy at home on a consistent basis. I can turn the key in the car ignition but that is about the extent of use. I can't lift anything requiring my wrist or finger to bend. Has anyone had this surgery and what has been your experience? Thanks!
Avatar n tn Been to a Chiroprator for 3 and no better now seeing a back specialist GP who xrayed me and found nothing now on hydrochortizone injections which help for about 10 days then my pain gets worse again. My right thumb tip is now feeling very strange almost numb and tingly. I get constant back spasms in my upper back and up to my neck. I am soooo completely fed up and starting to think i will be like this forever. Doc has suggested a scan but thinks again nothing will show up. I am so fed up.
Avatar m tn 3 days after the rupture the tip of my thumb started going tingling. I had the disc replacement and my thumb still tingles. I had carpel tunnel surgery last year and my thumb still tingles but some sensation on the side of my thumb has come back. My biggest problems are: when I pull my wrist back the muscle below my elbow tightens up and my entire lower arm goes numb. If I pull my arm behind my back, my upper arm will go numb.
Avatar n tn Since the cast has been off I have been applying vitamin E cream and bending the tip of the thumb (as instructed) with my other hand. My concern is that I am still completely incapable of bending the thumb on my own. I can move the entire thumb, but it will not bend. Is this normal or should I be able to bend it some by now? I had the surgery 4 days after the accident.
