Avatar f tn Whenver she tries to lift or touch something using her thumb, she gets this bulge at the base of the thumb on top of her hand (thumb knuckle). Her thumb then leans all the way down at a strange angle. It painful but she is able to "click" it back herself by moving her thumb out and up. I have strapped it up to immobilise the thumb, what else can I do and why is this happening?

1524304 tn?1326396974 For a while I'm experiencing something weird about my left wrist, thumb side. When I wake up at night or after some period of not using my left wrist it feels stiff and when I put weight on it (like when getting up from sitting in bed) there's sharp pain at the base of the thumb/below thumb. And usually accompanied by loud snapping/popping sound.
Avatar f tn I was pulling up my pants a few weeks ago when my left radial side of wrist gave a huge pop! Since I have a popping & painwith every movement of my thumb or twisting of hans/wrist. As well it feels like bones(?) are being pulled apart in the wrist. I also have some numbness on the left side of tip of thumb to the first knuckle. I use a splint, have tried both topical and oral anti inflamatorios, as well as ice. Not getting better.
1308443 tn?1302693321 Pinching or making a fist was really painful and difficult to do. Near the end it started popping. During that second week sometime I started noticing pain in the same place on my other wrist, but it never got very bad. Monday morning (start of week 3) I woke up and my left wrist cracked. It was very painful, but later that day my pain was gone. Mid-morning on Thursday, I felt a slight pain in my left wrist again.
903476 tn?1242237037 Very helpful thank you, I did go see a doctor and shes 99% sure it's tendonitis and this is just the first time it has ever become inflamed. She has has sent me for X-rays I will be getting tomorrow and she wants me to see a physiotherapist. She wont tell me 100% till she runs more tests but between the ice and heat sand of course the Tylenol the pain is gone but now I'm feeling pain in my left thumb.
Avatar f tn t figure it out until he was born and when he was sleeping he would suck his thumb and when he pulled it out it made the same popping noise!!
Avatar f tn The last few days I have had severe pain in my left wrist. It is near my thumb and sometimes radiates into my other fingers and into my low forearm. I have also had muscle and body aches for the last few days but it is mild and my wrist definitely hurts worse than any of my other body aches. I also read that too much vitamin a can cause bone pain. My nutrionist put me on a high dose of vitamin a, about 100,000 iu for two weeks to get my vitamin a up.
Avatar m tn Since Xmas experienced a tightness pressure type ache/pain in bicep/underarm area, pains in forearm sometimes and a developing stiffness / arthritic feel in left hand fingers and ache in thumb when rotated. Can still do full range of movement pinch fine and no obvious weakness/failure. Other symptoms, left elbow started to make an audible crackle (not popping) sound as it’s bent, since Xmas. Thinking I may see a neuro or should I wait longer or for weakness to bother anyone.
Avatar n tn Recently my right thumb has started popping out of joint and won't bend all the way straight. I had carpal tunnel surgery on this hand in April of this year (5 months ago) and this hand has been bothering me ever since. But this last problem is really painful and scary at times. Yesterday I almost couldn't get the thumb to go back into joint, but it finally did after a few minutes. What could be causing this? Also since surgery, there are larger bumbs(knots) under my skin (palm area).
Avatar m tn The problem resolved itself slowly over the course of four or so months leaving me without any lower back pain. What replaced the lower back pain was a popping sensation whenever I move my hips forward and tilt my back backwards. A sensation of pressure all over the muscles of my lower accompanies the popping sensation. If I stretch my hamstrings, and then tilt backwards, there is no popping sensation and the pressure is reduced.
Avatar f tn Could this be nerve, vein, or ligament damage? How could any of these types of pain be able to spread? Why does popping the joints cause (albeit minor) relief? Any sort of feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!
1625195 tn?1332178662 My elbow has been aching mildly. The arm itself, feels fine, up until the wrist where there is small pain near the outer joint of the wrist. My pinky, connected to the aching joint, is fine. There is little to no numbness. The ring finger is the same as well. But my middle finger, index finger and thumb are definitely numb and slightly swollen. My index finger, though, is the only finger experiencing some pain along with the numbness and swelling.
Avatar m tn My right hand middle finger joint (the one between the first and second phalanges seens to dislocate or move out of place when I press it with my thumb. It seens to pop although I can´t hear any sound, unless I´m holding it very close to my ears. It occurs when I press the left side of the joint ( the one closest to my index finger) using my thumb. I don´t know if it is the bone or some kind of ligament or tendon that is actually moving, but I can fell something moves out of place.
Avatar n tn I have pain over my thumb, and sometimes under my pinky finger, and even sometimes carries into my elbow. It is a dull aching pain that seems to get worse with more use. I am going to college for veterinary medicine, so I need to work with my hands a lot. I have tried splinting my hand but this seems to have little effect. It does not get any more worse than the pain during the day. My symptoms have within the last two weeks been more constant and a little more intense.

Avatar m tn Ok so I'm starting to think my chest pain and like occasional rib pain is just my joints maybe? I'm a pretty healthy kid but I've become lazy and I've been experiencing slight pain where I can crack my chest and ribs so I'm wondering how to fix the pain should I stop popping my joints and take a lot of ibuprofen or what?
1096641 tn?1271707225 You guys are freekin awesome...can't i just put you in my pocket and take you all? LOL. My man will go with me...he doesn't completely understand...as he is not and never was addicted to anything. But, because I asked him to go with me to 'keep me honest' and he wants to support me, he will go with me. and just him being there will help tremendously...I'll have to tell on myself...cuz he'll be sitting right there! MrClean...believe me..
Avatar m tn Here I sit , 90 days post surgery, wondering if I will ever get the feeling back in my fore finger and thumb, I still undergo moments of intense pain in my forearm and wrist. My major fear is that I will be stuck on this LYRICA 150's the rest of my life, and popping hydromorphine HCI when I have one of these flare ups.
Avatar m tn I was just recently diagnosed with spondylolysis of my L5 vertebra so my back hurts pretty much all the time. I have real bad pain in the back of my neck all the time. And I have severe pain in both of my shoulders that feels like a burning tearing pain. I have pain across my chest in the muscles that feels like I have just done about 100 pushups.
Avatar f tn I have done the carpel tunnel wrist test positions that my general prac taught me when I was having neuropathy and urgent care tried to say it wa carpel tunnel. Anyways long story short, no pain when I do this position. Only pain when pressure is applied. I did nothing to injury it and I'm right handed so I'm unsure what to think of it. The only thing that is different is that i have been sick with a flu bug that turned into a cold. I don't have a fever anymore just congestion.
Avatar m tn My thumb is not bruised or swollen but I have shooting pain when I bend it. I can bend it all the way but it shoots pain and it hurts in between the two joints. I have tried icing and wrapping it but nothing has helped and it has been nine days. My hand is also very cold but like I said before it is not bruised or swollen.
