I just found this thread in a desperate search for help after dealing with burning, stinging, fingertips and palms when using my iphone. It stings me hold it and I have small hard, tiny bumps on my right thumb where I click the home button and swipe on the surface! it feels like I burned myself. The bumps sting and burn and I don't have any sensation on those areas of my thumb. WTF. This has happened twice this week after using my phone for about an hour.

Hi! I'm not a doctor, but I came across your post & wanted to throw my 2-cents in b/c I have had this same problem with my own smartphone. Do you text a lot (I know I phone has an onscreen keyboard like my droid), but even browsing the internet, if you're using your thumbs or holding your phone a certain way...could cause what they call "gamers thumb". It's more recently been called "texters thumb" since you can get it from that too.

Hello Kevin AP With the information that you have given me i do not think that the artery in the palm between your wrist and thumb is anything to be concerned about. If you continue to have pain, start to notice weakness and swelling then i think it will be important to have this looked at. However with you being a skinny person and able to see other veins on your body i think this is nothing to be concerned about at the present time.

I sometimes get chest pain which worsens when I touch my chest or move muscles of chest.

I saw my baby at 7 weeks and I giggled cause I couldn't believe that tiny thing was inside me. I recorded the visit on my iPhone too.

Very helpful thank you, I did go see a doctor and shes 99% sure it's tendonitis and this is just the first time it has ever become inflamed. She has has sent me for X-rays I will be getting tomorrow and she wants me to see a physiotherapist. She wont tell me 100% till she runs more tests but between the ice and heat sand of course the Tylenol the pain is gone but now I'm feeling pain in my left thumb.

I have done the carpel tunnel wrist test positions that my general prac taught me when I was having neuropathy and urgent care tried to say it wa carpel tunnel. Anyways long story short, no pain when I do this position. Only pain when pressure is applied. I did nothing to injury it and I'm right handed so I'm unsure what to think of it. The only thing that is different is that i have been sick with a flu bug that turned into a cold. I don't have a fever anymore just congestion.

My thumb is not bruised or swollen but I have shooting pain when I bend it. I can bend it all the way but it shoots pain and it hurts in between the two joints. I have tried icing and wrapping it but nothing has helped and it has been nine days. My hand is also very cold but like I said before it is not bruised or swollen.

small bump has arrisen on the area of the wrist where the thumb and wrist attach. painful to use thumb. can move thumb with other hand no pain. skin in this area also sentitive to touch. hard to grasp anything with right hand. I wear a small brace on this hand during day hours to be able to do my job.

I keep my iPhone in a belt case on my left hip. Oftentimes I am feeling what seems to be the vibration of my phone ringing, but it's not and not nearly the intensity of the phone's actual vibrations. Usually the 'sensation' lasts between 1 to 3 seconds and it's directly behind the phone. In all fairness, I experience Sciatica as well to my left side region, but that consists more of pain in my lower back and lower left butt, not tingling sensations.

Now that I have been having problems for the past year I feel ashamed to tell him of my pain and constant discomfort because his response is your close to menopause its all normal. I have had a d and c and ablation last year now I am having bleeding again and a 7cm cyst on my left ovary that is extermely painful. At my last dr visit I was told that I could do nothing and it may go away, do a progestrone pill to shrink the lining of the uterus or a radical hysterectomy.

It's been about 10wks, had therapy and there has been no improvement at all in my thumb, still can not get it to bend on it's own. Orthopedic wants to give it 3 more wks and is considering sugery. EMG showed median nerve damage and anterior nerve damage as well. What are your thoughts on having surgery. It's become quite a problem for me to grab large things or grasp a ball too without having that thumb to bend.

I have been having pain in my right thumb for the last 2 years. The only way I can describe it is a constant soreness. I have been to numerous doctors including neurologists, orthopedists and hand surgeons. Tests done include 2 nerve conductions, nerve block, mri on thumb, wrist and spinal cord, x-ray on hand and a ultrasound. None of them have been able to diagnose what the problem is. Is there anything else that could be causing this pain?

My doctor says the stabbing pain I get in the base of my thumb on the fleshy palm part is probably osteoarthritis, This came on quite suddenly several months ago - I had on occasions put my hand out to stop my elderly husband from tripping over. The joint at the base of the thumb is also quite swollen in a boney sort of way. I mainly get a short sharp stabbing pain on the fleshy part but on resting the hand it does not hurt that much. All of a sudden the piece of skin in between my thumb and finger has become stiff. I don't think it would be trigger finger but i might be wrong. It won't go either. What can I do? It's hard to stretch my thumb away from the hand and spread my fingers without it hurting.
