Avatar n tn oops I see that you said thumb now! Silly me I kept thinking knee! Either way it could be arthritis or purhaphs a old sports injury?
Avatar f tn The pain radiates into my elbow area and even seems to be triggered by certain positions. This morning I awoke with pain and clicking in my right thumb. Additionally, there is swelling in the thumb and a soreness into the heel of my hand (where thumb connects to hand). I am taking meds for migraine/stroke (Plavix, verapamil, lasix, lisinopril, along with thyroid replacement therapy and some allergy prescriptions.
Avatar f tn The books I was pulling out slipped and crashed down onto the thumb side of right wrist. It hurt but I continued working ( I have good pain tolerance and stubborn). Thumb side of wrist has some bruising , swollen. Doesn't looked deformed. Icing and taken advil. The area that is painful is scaphoid and down to the bone that is roundish (radial?). Today something happened..
1524304 tn?1326396974 For a while I'm experiencing something weird about my left wrist, thumb side. When I wake up at night or after some period of not using my left wrist it feels stiff and when I put weight on it (like when getting up from sitting in bed) there's sharp pain at the base of the thumb/below thumb. And usually accompanied by loud snapping/popping sound.
Avatar m tn When scalene muscle is the cause of pain, the pain is referred to chest, inner lining of scapula (shoulder bone), shoulder, posterior and lateral sides of the arm right up to the thumb and index finger. Repeated clicking of mouse of computer can injure the tendon of index, cause compression of median nerve and also cause this numbness. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
2054600 tn?1330724165 I have a few problems with my right hand/wrist. Pain on the thumb side of wrist and also more on the pinky side region of wrist (pinky side pain and clicking sounds) Basically ongoing for a few years and becoming worse. Recently had a MRI (sports medicine doctor requested MRI). He did go over it with me however there is a part of the MRI which was never discussed and something I don't understand. If you don't mind here is what the MRI report says... Clinical History...
Avatar f tn I recently have been experiencing a constant pain in my left wrist. I have found that there is not much strength left in it. I am a waitress and can no longer carry even two plates in this hand. If I try there are times when it looses complete strength and has cause me to drop the plates. I am unsure what is happening or how to fix this?
Avatar f tn Does rubbing the web between your fingers really work. Thats sounds so weird!
Avatar f tn This then presses on the nerve which then causes a pain right up to the elbow. Thumb and pointer finger are first to be affected. Often proper working style, working without bending wrist, using smooth movements to operate the mouse and key pad, and relaxing the joints of finger, wrist and arm in between helps. A wrist support or arm support too helps and you have computer chairs with support for your spine and arm.
Avatar n tn i hear clicking/ticking sounds in my head and also get ear pain. does anyone know what this could be?
903476 tn?1242237037 Very helpful thank you, I did go see a doctor and shes 99% sure it's tendonitis and this is just the first time it has ever become inflamed. She has has sent me for X-rays I will be getting tomorrow and she wants me to see a physiotherapist. She wont tell me 100% till she runs more tests but between the ice and heat sand of course the Tylenol the pain is gone but now I'm feeling pain in my left thumb.
Avatar f tn I have done the carpel tunnel wrist test positions that my general prac taught me when I was having neuropathy and urgent care tried to say it wa carpel tunnel. Anyways long story short, no pain when I do this position. Only pain when pressure is applied. I did nothing to injury it and I'm right handed so I'm unsure what to think of it. The only thing that is different is that i have been sick with a flu bug that turned into a cold. I don't have a fever anymore just congestion.
Avatar m tn My thumb is not bruised or swollen but I have shooting pain when I bend it. I can bend it all the way but it shoots pain and it hurts in between the two joints. I have tried icing and wrapping it but nothing has helped and it has been nine days. My hand is also very cold but like I said before it is not bruised or swollen.
Avatar m tn Rotator cuff signs and symptoms would consist of shoulder pain and also deltoid muscle pain in your upper arm, weakness during shoulder functions and also clicking in the shoulder with popping a prominent feature in some people. It occurs in a dominant arm and the pain may interfere with sleep and worse at night. There is problem with lifting of weights with the effected shoulder and decrease in ability to move the arm, especially out to the side.
Avatar f tn for about a month now my rights thumb has been very cold all the time it never warms up,, on a part of my thumb where they hand meets it is very painful??? please tell me whats wrong??
Avatar n tn I am 16 year old female, I too play piano and have trained and competed in judo for roughly 8 years now. I have very small, weak wrists anyway but suffer from exactly the same problem in mainly my left wrist. From what you are describing the clicking could be a result of a ligament damage. I agree with jdesouza "The weakness and pain are what you need to control. Rest it and slowly start. If it hurts reduce the intensity.
Avatar n tn I am 19 years old. I have a lot of crepitus at shoulder and cracking (also along right arms) continue to bother me now almost 6 months. The doctor said ' this is the chronic shoulder pain'. I'm confused. I don't feel such pain. Except if i carry heavy load, i felt pain at upper chest. But i do feel very tired, i mean a real tired, include back pain/tired most of the time. Numbness on-off. Is that considered pain? The doctor set me on MRI. still havent done yet.
Avatar n tn small bump has arrisen on the area of the wrist where the thumb and wrist attach. painful to use thumb. can move thumb with other hand no pain. skin in this area also sentitive to touch. hard to grasp anything with right hand. Avatar m tn I had another cervical spine MRI only recently, about a month ago. It also came back normal, ruling out pinched nerves etc. Recently the pain has progressed to my collarbones and the front and sides of my neck (it was mostly in the back of my neck before). The sides of my neck, especially the right side, have been very sore and tender, and this usually is accompanied by ear pressure and popping/clicking. ('ve had repeated ear infections throughout this ordeal, and some TMJ problems.
Avatar n tn i was stretching one day and heard my chest pop. after this, i started having pain along each side of my sternum, the pain is more intense on the left side. Also, if i push on my sternum, there is a great deal of pain. i have had this pain for about a week now. it is very painful and sore. it is very difficult for me to find a good position to rest in when i try to go to bed. can anyone tell me what is wrong with me.
Avatar n tn If I touch that bump, bulge and gently move my finger slowly up and down, I can hear a clicking type noise in that bulged area. I only did this once or twice because it is actually painful in that area plus the movement painful.. I'm not sure what this clicking is? If I try to make a fist, my ring finger will not bend to the palm, my pinky finger does not bend. Pinky finger isn't injured.
