Common Questions and Answers about Thumb pain bowling

finger

Avatar f tn I also have the big bump on the knuckle of my right thumb. Mine was caused by bowling. I was also hoping to find out how to at least reduce it's size. But it looks like nobody has an answer. oh well. looks like it will have to stay that way...
Avatar f tn One thing I forgot to mention is that my husband also has decided to give up the bowling due to his hip replacement and it is causing him major pain when he throws the ball. So I said to him, "Why do you have to copy me?"..We had a laugh inspite of the realization. I told him misery loves company, so I was secretly glad that he couldn't bowl...does that make me a bad person??? lol I hope things are going ok for everyone today.
Avatar n tn If the cause of the pain in the arm is believed to be a pinched nerve in the neck, bowling or arm movement would not make a difference to the primary pain; while if the pain is due to causes localized in the arm, movement could aggravate the pain. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar f tn It's probably not from the bowling. You're 37 weeks along. Your body might be gearing up for labor.
Avatar n tn Certain sports will make the pain worse because of neck positioning. Bowling require neck extension and will typically aggravate this pain. Other sports such as swimming, cycling, and volleyball have components of extension inherent, which will also cause momentary shoulder and arm pain. The follow through in the golf swing and the serve in tennis require momentary neck extension that can cause a “jolt” of pain during the maneuver. I hope this information will help you.
Avatar f tn Hey! I'm so sorry to hear that about your job. I hope you find one soon. I know what you mean about bowling and your boss. A friend of mine lives in the States and said all they have is 10 pin. Is why I knew. I've bowled 10 pin a few times. It is fun. Then going back to 5... the ball seems so small. No matter how short I cut my nails, I always break my thumb nail 10 pin bowling. LOL I'm off to my 2nd ultrasound today in about 5 minutes. Then a piano lesson interview. Then bowling.
Avatar f tn 36weeks pregnant and I went bowling last night. Now it hurts down there. Basically any kind of movement I do, hurts it. Anything that would help calm it down?

Avatar f tn Well not a 10-lb bowling ball... more like a 4-lb bowling ball. ;-) It's just baby putting pressure there.
Avatar f tn I rarely go bowling, but I went one time when I was about 15 weeks and started having really bad back pain from my sciatic nerve after one round. It took a couple days for me to feel better. Hopefully it's not a problem for you!
Avatar m tn Last night, I came home after a night of bowling and masturbated before going to sleep. I realized immediately there there was some pain in the tip of my penis, near where the shaft meets the head. I woke up this morning and the spot was still rather tender. I looked carefully and the skin is slightly raised but there are no other problems besides that. The tenderness has persisted throughout today so I am growing slightly concerned. Is this anything to be alarmed about?
Avatar m tn The dr made me wait 4 months after surgery to go back to my bowling league in Sept. The only side effect from bowling is a slight stiff neck the next morning. I also do simple yoga. The dr also suggested water aerobics - I start this week and will keep you posted.

Avatar f tn I'm 2 months pregnant and my hubby wants to go bowling. Can I go without harming the baby or possibly causing problems??
676912 tn?1332812551 I think you will be just fine bowling. I was on 2 bowling leagues a week with my first pregnancy. I bowled till I was 39 weeks but used 10lb ball the whole time. So I personally would not use a ball over 12lb. Hope you have a great time.
Avatar n tn I'm 20 weeks and I go bowling almost every week with the bf and son .. we have a blast!
Avatar f tn I know I should consult my doctor but I really really want to go bowling for my birthday what are your opinions?

903476 tn?1242237037 Very helpful thank you, I did go see a doctor and shes 99% sure it's tendonitis and this is just the first time it has ever become inflamed. She has has sent me for X-rays I will be getting tomorrow and she wants me to see a physiotherapist. She wont tell me 100% till she runs more tests but between the ice and heat sand of course the Tylenol the pain is gone but now I'm feeling pain in my left thumb.
Avatar f tn I have done the carpel tunnel wrist test positions that my general prac taught me when I was having neuropathy and urgent care tried to say it wa carpel tunnel. Anyways long story short, no pain when I do this position. Only pain when pressure is applied. I did nothing to injury it and I'm right handed so I'm unsure what to think of it. The only thing that is different is that i have been sick with a flu bug that turned into a cold. I don't have a fever anymore just congestion.
