Common Questions and Answers about Thrush vulva

vagina

Avatar n tn Sounds like it could be thrush, which can have all of your listed symptoms. Have you had thrush before? It is basically a yeast infection caused by a build up of Candida albicaans. Some people get a yeasty smelling discharge as well. It is usually caused by an upset in the pH balance of your vagina. This in turn can be caused by things such as hormonal changes eg. around menstruation, taking antibiotics and also washing the area with soap.
Avatar f tn This all started on the 18th of June when I had just come off antibiotics, I even made sure while I was on antibiotics I was taking probiotics so that I would avoid getting thrush. My doctor did say on one of my tests that thrush was present, so I took an oral tablet on 31st of July, and been applying cream three times a day and using the vaginal pessary tablets (6 day treatment) - and still no feeling of improvement.
Avatar f tn Yeah sounds like a year infections I have one right now too it ***** you should talk to your doctor ASAP to treat it because your so close to delivery if you have it during birth it can be passed to the baby's mouth as thrush it's not a big deal and it's easy to treat but it's easier if your just treat yourself before hand
Avatar f tn Im 36+5 and my vag has been so itchy the past week, mostly around my vulva, has anyone else has this?
Avatar f tn t usually last that long or hurt so much so I took a mirror and looked below. Had all the signs for thrush such as cottage cheese discharge, itching, burning when I pee, swollen vulva and clit (very painful) and sores on vulval and inside vagina. So I managed to go to a sexual health clinic where they did a test and told me it was thrush gave me one of those pills to insert inside the vagina but the symptoms didn't improve at all 5 days later I'm still in pain.
Avatar f tn Since summer i have been suffering with severe vulva itching. So naturally i went to my gp and they did a full sti screening exam to be on the safe side as i had a one night stand (my only one ever not that it matters) and everything came back negative.. this testing was done three months after the encounter btw. So we presumed it was thrush and i got prescribed meds. However the itching came back..
Avatar n tn But the best and most effective treatment is thrush cream (clotrimazole 2%) for external thrush and a pessary for internal thrush
Avatar f tn What does it mean when the vulva is always red, inflammed and sometimes itchy??
Avatar f tn You could try takin probiotics they really help your good bacteria and fight off thrush. You can take 3 a day until the thrush is gone (say about 5 days) then 1 a day to keep thrush from returning. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone! I am very curious about a particular form of pain I have and whether it might be herpes-related. It began about six years ago. I have never had any traditional herpes symptoms - i.e. cuts or blisters, but occasionally I get 'flashes' of pain in different areas of my vulva. These last for about a second, but happen quite randomly (i.e.may happen on random days for one to two months).
Avatar f tn Then in june i had sex with my bf after a few drinks and i also had thrush so the dryness caused a few scrapes on my vulva. I went to the doctor and then also said i was worried it could be related to stds which is why i had blood tests done.
Avatar f tn I'm so desperate. I've had a relentlessly itchy labia for months now and it's really starting to depress me. I've tried so many things. It's not a thrush and I've taken thrush medication. I tried using hydrocortisone cream but it hasn't worked and I'm scared to continue using it because of the side effects it warns of. My labia is constantly itchy, more particularly so at night.
Avatar f tn I have white like dots through the skin of my vulva. All over. They seem to be more prominent in the redder areas at the bottom, closer to the vaginal opening. Is this just my skin? Or could it be genital warts? I have felt thrush like symptoms recently too.
Avatar n tn Red, raw looking vulva, severe burning everyday for 2 months that is made worse by discharge and goes after i urinate. All STIs negative, Thrush treatment made it worse and UTI medications didn't work at all. What's wrong with me?
Avatar f tn I am a married woman. My husband and I haven't had sex in 2 months because of this. So here's the deal. I once got a "cold sore" in college and was diagnosed visually by a nurse practitioner. She prescribed Valtrex and a cream. Since then every so often I get a tingly sensation on my lip, I apply Abreva, it tingles, lasts a week, and goes away. I never get visible sores. I suffer from MS as well. Mid June I got my first yeast infection EVER!
1470343 tn?1316638624 I have suffered from some sort of vulva condition for nearly a year now and at wits end with it all. 2 swabs & pap smear have ruled out STI's, Herpes, fungal infections, only elevated Strep B on first swab detected. 1st lot of antibiotics cleared the symptoms but relapsed within a few weeks. Another round of a different antibiotic had the same result. I tried oc thrush treatment with the same result. A pelvic ultrasound showed normal results.
Avatar m tn s there was nothing wrong with me except for that thrush infection. I took two doses to get rid of thrush this time. However now sex is extremely painful. It stings as soon as it is inserted and takes 2 or 3 days for the pain to subside. of course the next days are more a dull ache and not the intense stinging of intercourse/peeing that night. The pain is mostly around the entrance to my vagina, however I feel like the stinging is pretty much all the way up in my vagina.
Avatar f tn If I describe my symptoms perhaps someone could please help me determine whether this is simply a severe case of vaginal thrush and, if so, what I can do to get rid of it!!! • Initially very red, itchy skin in vaginal region. • 3 days later – ulcers appeared around ulcers appeared around area of entrance to vagina & on labia minora – extremely itchy and painful!!
Avatar f tn i'm new to this so I apologize if I am putting this in the wrong category. anyway, I am only 15 and for a couple of years now, I've dealt with these pimple-like bumps on my vulva, surrounding my clitoris and completely covering my inner labia. as far as I can tell, they stop at the entrance to my vagina. they are not painful or anything; they are just there. i have popped the ones surrounding my clitoris and they are filled with a substance like pus.
3136223 tn?1367960716 And yes you can get it on the skin, especially where it is warm and damp, like under the breasts, in the groins on the vulva, and on the inner thighs. You can also get thrush in the mouth and throat. Babies sometimes get it too. That is the trouble with people speculating and being condescending when they do not know 100% about a medical condition. The oral medication for mouth thrush is Daktarin.
Avatar f tn For the past 7 months I have been having abdominal pains, itching, increased discharge (runny and grey in color),swollen & inflammed vulva/vaginal area. Been tested for thursh, bv & several sti's all of which came back normal. I have had antibiotics for bv & numerous pills/pessarys for thrush which has no effect at all! My symptoms seem to be worse after my period & using canesten thursh cream made the itching worse.
Avatar m tn I went to my GP as I noticed a few strange little bumps on my vulva, and around the entrance to my vagina. He said there's nothing to worry about and said he couldn't see anything of concern, and said the skin down there isn't meant to be smooth. However, I'm still a bit stressed as to what it could be. I've attached a photo. It sort of itches/burns a bit, similar to thrush. No discharge that I've noticed, no smell.
Avatar f tn I have this insane rash that has gone on for about a week now on my vulva.. about 30-40 white creamy bloody bumps with yellow on them... I had thick discharge and thought it was thrush but I have never had this painful of an expirience in my life.
