I am not sure whether I am throwing up bile... or just the grease from what I ate. I am 33 weeks pregnant and haven't really had any problems with the pregnancy besides some gallbladder problems around weeks 24-28. I had really bad pain in my gallbladder area (under right rib and right back, under shoulder blade) for about a month. No signs of stones. Can't do the test to see how my gallbladder is functioning since I'm pregnant. No pain currently beside a constant pain under my left rib...

You might want to try Canada Dry ginger ale. It's one of the few brands made with real ginger, a natural anti-nausea agent, plus the carbonation helps. I pretty much lived on the stuff my first couple weeks. Other natural anti-nausea/anti-gas remedies safe for pregnancy include peppermint tea or candies, fresh ginger grated into hot water or ginger candy, or anything with lemon -- tea, drops, hot lemonade, etc.
my 6 year old is throwing up (sometime projectile) and complains of pain in his stomach for 4 days. Eating BRAT diet but still throws up. No food particles coming up - only fluid that is green and cloudy. Once he throws up, he is fine. Have him on 15 mg. Lansoprazole. No fever, stool is normal (no diarhea).
so this past feb they decided lets take out his gallbladder... so they did... very next day started throwing up bile again.... they send him home for 1 week and he was on clindmax( spelling) since he still is not eating or drinking anything he is even on magace adn marinol.... so the next week they went in and rerouted his bowels.... WOW. the bile instantly stopped.. well still not eating.... then in the past couple of weeks i guess the magace has finally kicked in after all these months...
That is a scary thing to sy to your child when they've confessed to a dangerous activity like binge drinking and now find themselves throwing up black fluid. I still say emergency room.
I know he makes himself throw up, but only after he's been drinking alot or done too much cocaine. But the main point of the coversation was trying to find a way out of my trapped mind. He's a strong believer in hullucinagenic drugs like Mushrooms. He wants me to try them, even just a little bit because he thinks it might help me out of this cage that I've built for myself. I hate my cage, but at the same time, it's my home.
My heart aches for you. At a time when you should be able to enjoy your new daughter, you're suffering. So many of us are suffering from extreme pain post gallbladder surgery. My advice would be: Check out, "The First Principles of Gastroenterology": http://gastroresource.com/GITextbook/en/Default.htm. Many have received a dignosis of Post-Cholecystectomy Syndrome or Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction but you'll need to do your research and see which area your symptoms fit into.
I know the shakes and anxiety really suck. The bile and blood could be indicating serious stomach and intestinal irritation or even damage. You can die from stomach bleeding if it gets bad enough. Only a blood test can reveal liver damage or not. You first need to go to a detox center and have help to stop drinking and get through the withdrawal, before you kill yourself by the continued drinking.
\ I went in to my prenatal appointment after weeks of not sleeping and throwing up acid and bile with no relief. He prescribed Protonix. I took one dose. ONE. MIRACLE. I'm not kidding. Make an appointment ASAP. Don't make yourself suffer. :( DO NOT drink milk because it makes it worse for us. If you can do bread or crackers, try it as it might absorb acid. I couldn't do them very often in the moment lol. I slept sitting up often.
I felt like I was dying...literally during the time I was throwing up. I stayed in bed all day and was extremely weak. I tried to drink water in small amounts. I woke up today feeling somewhat better but today I have had 6 bowel movements and very constipated. My right side under the ribs is hurting today and I still feel very weak but again better. Any idea what could be wrong with me & where the green bile came from? What's different about green bile than yellow?
Now, I am nauseated and this started about 3 weeks after surgery. I also had an endoscope and they found extra Bile in my stomach and I am also relfuxing it up.. Never had reflux either....before this. Now I am on Questran for the Bile as well as dumping spells and they said that sometimes people get better with time.. But there is nothing that they can do about the bile. I also had a Gastric Emptying done and I was a little backed up which had to be from the surgery.
At time I called dr I was not throwing up. By the time my hubby got home I was throwing up. He called dr got answering service and told her to tell dr he was taken me to ER now wasn't going to wait for test the next day. I had acute pancertitis.spent four days in hospital. Follow up from hospital stay was ten days later I'd been hurting on left side going around to back. He did blood work levels were normal that was Friday. Monday I was back at dr office blood work again levels were high again.
It's been three weeks and he is still randomly puking up slightly foamy bile. Drools a bit, gags and then throws up. Before and after he seems perfectly fine. Does anyone have any thoughts? I can't affor to get him to a vet immediately and he seems fine but I am worried. Any help would be appreciated.
Within an hour I'd start vomiting every 15-30 minutes for about twelve hours. after dry heaving enough, bile would come up eventually, usually at the end of those twelve hours. The only thing to do for that time was curl up on my side in bed; lying on my back would make the nausea more acute. At first, I was afraid of getting too dehydrated, so I'd try to drink a little water. But drinking even a tiny amount would cause me to vomit quicker and heavier.
Visit to the ER produced no major results. How long is considered reasonable for stomach distress to go on after being treated for Giardia with Flagyl? Why do test results take so long for this? I still do not have the results.
II can't stop throwing up...even after drinking...and I watch what I eat because I know it is coming back up! Additionally, I've been very clammy, sweaty, dizzy, disoriented. I'm still not sure what is going on -- any answers?
are you managing to keep the fluids down or are you throwing it up?
I had every test imaginable done to me, after the last, I needed to have imediate next day sugery.. no real explaination why. But I was always sick, with stomach sickness, throwing up, fatigue.. etc. I never had the gall bladder attacks before the sugery, so we never thought it was that. Now its two years later and I am in far more pain than I ever was before. I have had this happening to me since after my surgery. I can't even describe this pain.
It seemed like a stomach flu, she was throwing up, complaining of severe stomach aches with a slight fever. after a week of not getting better I took her to the doctors and discovered she had a bladder infection. Apparently young children will get a stomach ache, diarrhea and refusing to use the toilet or go in their diaper, and sometimes have a fever.
I now vomit after after meal, often it is partially digested food immediately after eating and then what seems like pure bile about an hour to two hours after eating. I now vomit after drinking just water sometimes, as well. I have had to go to the emergency room for dehyrdation from the vomiting and while there they did several blood tests and mentioned that my lipase levels were elevated and I should mention that to my surgeon.
Everyone was nauseated and throwing up some even had a fever. I never got the fever just throwing up and nausea and then more nausea for like 3 days and then all of a sudden out of nowhere I got the eggy burps and it has been a constant like every 5 seconds. That icky burp taste and smell is killing me and it has been like 3 days now. I do have extreme gas and bloating and I am also farting a lot. There is a terrible rumble and gurgle going on in my gut.
Yes, if an antibiotic helps, something has to be inflamed or infected but why doesn't it show up? I too had relief from them. Antispasmotics don't work. How soon after eating can anyone here feel the pain? Because I do feel it immediately after eating or drinking, it starts with a dull ache, then slowly gets worse like a spasm, and it is middle to right sided. I am calling my Dr Wednesday for help. I am afraid to try any more meds as my liver doesn't process them well.
The upper GI revealed I have a hiatal hernia, which is when your intestine busts through your stomach wall. This is a result of violently throwing up. How nice! I also have a 'pouch' on my small intestine that looks like a pizza crust bubble, simply from a lack of fiber and poor nutrition (and probably caused from the vomiting). These are results, or damage, from whatever the cause of my digestive troubles are, and will heal in time, so my doctor is now sending me off to have an endoscopy!
My fiance and kid got the stomach flu and they had it for about 12 hours they had diarrea and vomiting but the day after I got the diarea but no vomiting just nausea for three days then it went away.
I end up throwing it up like my stomach rejects the food and after i throw up i feel great the pains are still there but, i can breathe. I have been to the doctor they told me i have colitis. I have been in and out of the emergency room many times, they told me they dont know. So i had a colonoscopy and they found hemroids. So they set up an appointment for the same thing but, down my throat. I am just wondering what the hell is going on. I know my body and i know when there's something wrong.
JulesL you could have bile issues, but many factors can cause G.I. issues such as throwing up. I know this post is old, so hope you wen to see you Dr. right away, and if you have still not figured out what is wrong find Sheila Wagner online. She is a nutrition expert who focuses on G.I issues and usually cures the things mainstream Dr. can't.
My problem is that they both started throwing up when they resumed eating and drinking liquids. It is now five days post-op and they are still throwing up (about 4 times a day). I called the vet when vomiting started 48 hours post-op and they said to bring them in for de-hydration concerns. But since the cats are still drinking and eating, despite vomiting, I'd rather not bring them into a hospital where they are more likely to pick up viruses.
In the morning around 5 am she had thrown up real bad so I cleaned her up and gave her more water no food. To let her stomach settle. I went to work and had my mom keep an eye on her. When I got back she was groggy and lethargic. I noticed her gums were yellow and her eyes (the iris where it is usually blue) was yellowish-green and cloudy. She wasn't "talking" like she usually dies so I gave her water and she threw it up immediately and ignored it. SO!
Anyway, he also put me on a strict diet and it worked out until I gave up the diet. Over the years, after having been misdiagnosed for other things like injuries, I don't trust many doctors so I research on a fairly continuous basis so I can discuss everything with my doctor. This pain, when hungry, radiating to the back, after eating certain foods or not eating at all can come from a couple of common issues. 1: Like personalevolution said, there could still be a stone lodged in a duct.
