throwing up mucus in adults

no change in behavior (happy, active, etc.) and no change in attitude. She has, however, started throwing up mucus. It has happened about the last 3 days once or twice in a day. There seems to be nothing other than a piece of grass or tiny speck of food in the mucus. Can you tell me what may be causing this, if it is only temporary, and what I may be able to do to help or stop it??

I'm 22 years old and a smoker (not sure if that matters) but for awhile now (a year or so) i will throw up what I'm guessing is bile. it is lime green in color and comes out very "watery" and "mucus" like. It happens right when i wake up and take a shower. after i brush my teeth i get extremely nauseous and throw this "substance" up, it last all of about 10 min. I feel fine before and after.

Its like Its stuck in my throat and I try to cough it out but I end up throwing everything up including my food. Very Not pleasant. But it wasn't as bad as it is now. Now Its happening twice every other week, to every week. The last time I was on medication for Sinusitis that my doctor gave me, and I threw up more mucus then food. I was looking up Sinusitis and Its supposed to have nasal inflammation and I do not have that, but I cough up mucus every day always after I eat.

For 4 months I have been constantly coughing, gagging, choking, spitting up mucus and throwing up. I have been to 3 different doctors and each time they have treated me with allergy meds., cortizone shots, and diffent antibiotics to no avail.. I had a CAT scan of my sinus 2 weeks ago and the sinus is clear. They now have me scheduled for allergy testing coming in a week. I am into my 9th day of a 10 day antibiotic for the 4 time.

I have had excessive mucus in the back of my throat for a while now and it is really getting annoying. It's not in my lungs or in my chest, it is just in my throat. I have to cough it up (more like a hocking sound) all the time and it is disgusting and ANNOYING. I have never had allergies in my life and never any big disease problems at all. This thing is just annoying and I am wondering what in the world could be causing it. The mucus is clear with no blood or anything--just clear.

Sounds like it might just be acid related, which is very common in pregnancy. Are you burping a lot, have a funny taste in the back of your throat? Does your stomach wake you at night? If so, try sleeping elevated and try taking tums and minimizing acid-causing foods in your diet. Apples and bananas are great natural acid-reducers. Definitely mention to your doc, too. Call if it becomes too cumbersome before your next appointment or if you don't feel well.

Hi I'm 14 and for some reason have been throwing up after breakfast and not being able to keep food down in the morning. At first I thought I was allergic to eggs so I cut those out of my diet but I keep throwing up!! This makes me insecure because it's making me loose weight. i'm the lightest I've been in a few years and was upset about being too skinny before this happened. Our 4 year old Old English Sheepdog has been throwing up regularly for a few months. I threw up in the middle of eating and it may sound weird but I just continued eating afterwards because I felt a little better but sometimes it would ruin my appetite ask day and I would make myself snack on crackers and other small things just to keep food in my stomach because throwing up acid is the worst! If you're throwing up blood you probably need to go to the hospital. You're probably dehydrated hun. I threw up everyday at least 2 times until I was 28 weeks, and was in the hospital 5 times for dehydration. Dehydration can lead to preterm labor, which is no good at 23 weeks. If you don't want to go in right away I'd call your dr and see what they say to do.

My dr gave me some medicine when I was in my first trimester for throwing up issues. So I have to take that now. Just try and not eat until you get full. Stop eating a tad bit before you hit the full point. It might help.

I work with developmentally disabled adults, who at times, can be much like children and they develop some strange behaviors when they discover that it works to get them attention or escape from an unwanted situation.
