After throwing up severely, I ruptured eye blood vessels. I can't understand if this is from the straining and should i worry or will it go away?
I have had numerous blood tests and recently had a CT Chest scan which showed nothing, though I am still coughing up blood (its not huge amounts - though when I cough I bring up flem along with blood). About a month ago my dog was throwing up stomach bile like once or twice a week, then it stopped for a while. I tried to get my mom to take her to the vet but she didn't think it was anything to worry about. Lately she's been puking up nothing, like she dry-heaves and makes a coughing noise as she does it. But she's still her normal-self, hyper and energetic. She vomited today and there was blood in it, even though it was barely noticeable. Is this serious?
Im 20w6d and was just given meds to help with nausea because I was throwing up so bad that I ended up coughing up blood. It was just broken capillaries in my throat. Nothing to worry about. But still call your doctor.

last night when i was with him he threw up a lot, and he told me that he was throwing up blood. he's always had stomach problems (acid reflux or whatever it's called) but he said he'd never done that before. i'm really worried. i looked up some stuff about it on the web, and got a lot of info on ulcers. he's only 19, but i guess it's possible. i'd just like to know what i should do, and if it's serious enough for him to go to the doctor.
Pregnant or not pregnant coughing/throwing up blood isn't normal. You should call your doctor.
Keeping fingers crossed. Oh, also, he was was throwing up mucous and blood which the emergency dr. attributed to his gagging.
I am constantly straining muscles from the intense coughing, I've coughed up blood twice. I finally had a CAT scan and it shows that my lungs are fine, except from some harmless scarring from prolonged coughing. Antibiotics have no effect on the cough. I've used Tussionex (codeine cough syrup) for years, but drs. don't like to prescribe it, so I use it when I can't stand it any more to make it last. The cough leaves me so exhausted, and my muscles painful, and it's almost impossible to sleep.
John, the long-term effects of the radiation could be a problem, and it should be checked out. If he's throwing up undigested food several hours after eating, the problem could be gastroparesis which essentially is delayed gastric emptying. But that's only a guess. Your father's condition needs to be evaluated by a GI doc and some testing needs to be done to determine the true cause of the problem.
I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out. The last one about 2 years ago stopped me breathing in and out completely for 10 to 15 seconds and I thought I had bought it.
My surgeon insisted it was due to trama from the breathing tube and not from the surgical site. However if you are throwing up blood versus coughing it up, an ER visit or call to your doctor would be warranted.
My doctor sent me to a gastric doctor who said I was in the wrong place as blood will not come up unless you are throwing up. He suggested the ear/nose/throat dr. I had an appointment I had to cancel and I thought it had gone away til today when it happened twice. It was only happening at night I would wake up with that taste and spit. Now it's coming during the day. I do not smoke or have allergies. I do feel something is not right in my throat area.
In regards to your big blood clots...I have heard of them alot from my friends and colleagues. Part of it is that the uterus as we grow older loses it ability to contract effectively, or a frequently as it used to. Over time, the uterus get a little "tougher", and not the great muscle it used to be. Also, a few c-sections will do this too. What this means to your period, is the uterus works harder to pass all the blood each month-Mega cramps.
I thought maybe I had burst a small blood vessel in my esophagus from throwing up so hard awhile back, and it isn't healing because I keep throwing up. I know I should consult the doctor, but she'll just make me come in, pay her the co-pay, listen to me tell her exactly what I told her on the phone, and then tell me it's probably sinuses! Hehe! Anyhoo, today I just spit in the sink at work and it was bloody, but I noticed that my nose was bleeding too (allergies).
My daughter (who is now 21 months old) has had spit up/throwing up issues since she was a newborn. I breastfed exclusively fo the first 6 mnths. of he rlife, and by 8 months she was exclusively drinking formula. When she was a newborn, she would do more than just 'spit up', she would throw up everything, so much it scared me to death that she was not getting anything into her system, even though her bowel movements were norm.
When this happens I blow my nose and out comes blood, but during this gagging/throwing up session I will blow my nose several times but blood will appear only once and it is bright red. The last couple of time these instances have occurred I have started coughing up bloody phlegm ( just a little spotting ). After these instances my voice will get garvelly and my throat is sore/irritated to the point it sounds like I am losing my voice.
However the coughing continued - I was also violently sick, throwing up blood 3 times in the night. I asked again in the morning about having inhaled blood when the consultant came to see me prior to discharge, again he seemed dismissive of this. About 5 days later I was so poorly with the cough I went to my GP and she said my lungs were rattling and crackling very badly, a lot worse than she had invisaged. I had by this time coughed up several blood clots which verified my suspicions.
Soo I went to the ob the 12th of aug && was put on nausea medication I been taken it every day today omg I woke up feelin so sick got up && threw up alot of spit bio && flem it had a Lil light pink blood I think from my throat from coughing what do you think anyone feeling like this I'm 11 weeks today
Watch and record how often you're throwing up blood and how much it is each time. Maybe take a few photos as well. Bring your recordings with you when you see your doctor. If you are throwing up excessive blood, you need to go to the ER. Don't wait on an appointment to see your doctor. Throwing up blood, especially in excessive amounts (more than a few small drops) could mean several situations. Such as blood clots or internal bleeding. I wish you all the best!
I don't think this is pregnancy mask - but I woke up with all these little red dots all around my eyes and tops of my cheeks. I was sick last night and coughing/throwing up rather hard. Anyone seen this before? I was thinking it may just be blood vessels but I'm not sure. : / They don't itch, just look obnoxious. I'm on the fence about calling the ob since it's not hurting anything that I can tell, just looks bad. Anyone seen this before?
(This Question is about my Girlfriend's dad) Does any one know what fits this description closest?
