Seen my doctor and he put me on Amoxicillin. My strep cleared up for the most part (the white crap all over my throat). Throat is still sore and have ulcers in a few places around my mouth. Not to worried about that, what does worry me is now my gums are killing me. I cannot even tough them with a brush. No blood as of yet from them. Is this the last of the infection retreating?
On Feb 1 I developed a severe red scratchy throat, and I still had several mouth ulcers. I took Augmentin 500 3x/day for 10days. After the 10days I still had a sore throat that feels like an ulcer down my throat, and I also still had about 10 mouth ulcers as well as swollen gums. I went to my Internal MD and he put me on Medrol dose pack and Levaquin. This initially helped w/ the mouth ulcers but the one down my throat got much worse. I was given a Celestone inj and put on Orapred.
Also taking Pepsid. Throat neg for strep and mouth ulcers neg for Herpes. This helped for about 3 days but then the pain has come back. I have also gotten a few more ulcers to my tongue and some of my gums are swollen. I have lost 9 pounds since the start of this b/c of the pain to eat. Another symptom that I am thinking is related is that I have gotten a severe area of inflamation around my anus. Does hemorrhoids cause this??
Labs for ANA,B12,CBC,BMP,LFTs were all normal. CRP was 3.
i was a bit sceptical, he offered to do a strep throat test but he didnt think it was strep throat as my throat is fine, so we didnt do the test.
However over the last 3 days i have developed red areas on the inside of my lips and also above my upper teeth, not red around my teeth but further up. its also quite inflamed. i still have the sores at the back of my throat but my toncit area is now also red. im worried of gingervitis (sorry abou that spelling!
12 days later I see my throat is inflamed. Doc said negative for strep. Waiting on my herpes simplex throat culture to come back. Sometimes I get a headache. But no fever. Could this be throat herpes or hiv ? I’m really worried. I keep drinking liquids and taking cough drops to help but the inflammation is still there and throat dryness. It’s not really sore. And it doesn’t hurt. Since I’m negative for strep is it possible this is hiv or hsv 1 in my throat ?
First rule out infectious causes, have blood tests done to rule out HIV and strep throat infection. Also, a throat swab may help. Chronic tonsillar enlargement can be due to the tonsils harboring infection. This is more so as the lymph nodes are also enlarged. If it is causing recurring symptoms, this is an indication for tonsillectomy. But sometimes the enlargement could also be due to lymphoma of the tonsils. Discuss these options with your consulting doctor.
I was diagnosed strep throat and started taking medicines but after 4 days, my fever went up to 105-106 range. Test results showed no strep throat, flu, swine etc.
I rushed to emergency and they diagnosed me for Pharynogontonsillitis. For a week before I went to emergency I barely could swallow anything. I grew weak and they gave me Glucose by drip and also Decadron. Next day onwards (after abt 10 days) I started feeling better. Fever was going away and so were ulcers.

Long story short, I was on vacation last week and went horseback riding for the first time Friday. I noticed after, I was so sore and uncomfortable. We flew home Saturday and Sunday i saw small ulcers on my vagina. One on my outer 'lip' and a couple on my perineum. No blisters, just sores. They aren't red or anything. Then I started to feel like I was getting a fever and I noticed my throat had white spots on my tonsils and it's hard to swallow.
A week after the fatigue I developed a terrible neck stiffness and pain along with a sore throat. No fever. No rash. No ulcers that I could see. No vomiting or diarrhea. I am just now starting to feel better. The neck pain, sore throat, and fatigue were the worse. Tested for mono and strep both negative. I will test at 6 weeks and 12 but for now does that seem like ARS?

Usually the WBC can drop with a viral infection but the Lymphocytes go up these are atypical looking to the technologist. That along with your symptoms sounds like mono. There are other strep that can cause a sore throat with pus, fever, and swollen lymph nodes but they usually don't last as long as yours. Or you would so sick if you had them that you would have gone in to the doctor right away. Oh, ok. I just saw your LY (lymphocytes) Leukocytes wouldn't be abreviated that way.
Any update on this? Perhaps you have a throat ulcer? They probably swabbed it to see if it was bacterial or fungal. No results from that? But figuring out what this ulcer is from . . . You don't smoke do you? Do you gargle with salt water?
fatigue, fever, sore throat, swollen spleen, swollen glands in my neck and throat, etc. and strep throat at the same time. A few days prior to the symptoms, i got this weird ulcer looking thing on my labia minora, i don't know if it was skin erosion or an ulcer or what.. i didn't pay too much attention to it at the time and it just seemed to appear and then disappear 2 or 3 days later. My mono went away in about 3 weeks and I haven't had any symptoms of the ulcer or mono since.
The ED Doc commented on a nasty looking throat which surprised me because I had no pain or only a mild sore throat. A mono test and strep test were negative and he sent me home saying I had a viral infection.
Over the next 3 days (including today) I've continued to have fevers, though not as high. I do really have a sore throat now, can barely eat or drink anything.
Now my throat still has ulcers all over my tonsills and I see the white exude at the back of my throat at times. The area all around and behind the uvula is red and ulcerated and has been that way for over 6 weeks now. I can even see the problems in my esophagus. I was given a penicillin shot as well when things didn't improve and I am having a bacteria infection and am taking Nystatin. I had diarhea issues and food that wasn't even digesting.
I had gotten 2-3 mouth ulcers about 3 weeks after my last exposure, but I felt sick a day after too, felt like a common cold and had a sore throat. I went into a walk in clinic and was given clarithromycin cause he thought i had strep throat which ended up giving me severe diarrhea 4 days into the treatment and I stopped taking it, but the day I stopped taking it i went and got checked for strep throat, gonorrhoea and chlamydia and all tests were negative.
