Avatar n tn I was left with a lump in my throat and problems swallowing. The antibiotics cleared up the infection but the problem swallowing would still be there. It was bad most days with the occasional good day. No problem swallowing when drinking water... Could eat OK but food did get stuck.. Based on the information in this Website. I told my Doctor I thought I had acid coming up from my stomach.
Avatar f tn Lump in throat. Sometimes I as well get the feeling of a necklace around my throat, on a few occassions it turned out to be (even though I have other GI problems) stress or what is soetimes called hysterical throat.
Avatar n tn I now am experiencing a feeling of a lump in my throat when I swallow and the front of my neck seems swollen or enlarged. It is very difficult to swallow if my head is even slightly titled up. What could be causing this?
Avatar m tn Is there a good chance of a connection between my back problems and the anxiety/lump in throat symptoms? Do these symptoms sound like a possible heart problem? Other than seeing a doctor, what could i do to possibly help with my symptoms. I'm fairly convinced that some of the symptoms are nerves, and some of the symptoms are something else. It's trying to figure out what's my imagination and what's part of a problem...
Avatar n tn If you are having problems with acid reflux, the sensation could be globus. It's a 'feeling' of something in the throat - like a lump. If this is the reason, you need to work with your doc to try to bring the reflux under control.
Avatar m tn If the lump in the throat is caused by acid (very possible given what you describe), consider taking a course of antacids (I recommend Gaviscon for starters, Pepcid Complete if that doesn't work, and finally Prilosec OTC if that doesn't work after a few days each) to see whether this helps take the feeling away. If it does then you've essentially traced it down to it being acid. If it doesn't after 2 weeks, then you may wish to go see a doc just to be safe.

Avatar f tn My sore throat went away but the lump is still there. Sometimes I have pain in my throat near the lump but it only lasts a second and then goes away. It's on the right side of my face, nothing on the left. Should I be alarms or does it just sound like swollen lymph node?? Help!!
Avatar m tn There is an artery in the area you are talking about and they have a pulse like in your wrist. It the lump a hard bump or a spongy lump that you feel your pulse when you press on it? It isn't on the bone it is above the bone right? if it is soft and spongy it may just be an artery. If it is solid and hard I would have the doc feel it.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with hypothyroid in Feb/08. Since starting on synthroid, I have had a feeling of a "lump" in my throat and also it sometimes gets so bad, it gives me a headache. My blood levels now show "normal' but this problem is getting worse. What could it be? Also, since starting on the synthroid, I am often getting heart fluttering. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn HR would spike in 200s, elevated BP, SOB, chest pain, tightness in chest and throat, heavy lump in throat, flushing, weakness, tingling and numbness in legs and arms...pratcially every known SVT symptom all at once. EP doctor diagnosed it as left atrial tachy. I am 6 weeks post ablation and feel much better. Ablation seems to be succesfful but dr said there were a few more spots that could give me trouble later down the road.
Avatar f tn Off and on for the past year or so I have been having this sensation of a lump in my throat. I went to see an ENT and he did a scope (went in through the nose and looked down at the throat), I had a CT of the throat, and an Ultrasound of my thryroid and a Upper GI Series (Barium Swallow).
Avatar n tn Hi, I just had a question to see if anyone has experienced this type of issue before. As of a few weeks now, I've noticed what I believe to be a lump feeling inside my throat maybe about 1/3 of the way down. It seems to be there then seems like it goes away. Seems like lately I'm always swallowing a lot or trying to clear what I think is just mucus from there. I did just get over being sick with a head cold and possible strep throat. The Dr.
1173247 tn?1504594662 I have previously had a panendoscopy to investigate a lump sensation in my throat which found nothing and a recent ultrasound found no lumps on my thyroid, (despite having been told previously that I had a goitre). I am currently having problems with my jaw - I have been diagnosed with a jaw joint disorder. The clicking feels like it could be coming from the same area as the lump sensation, which I still have btw. Any ideas what it could be?
Avatar n tn The lump in the throat feeling is one of the symptoms of acid reflux though no lump is actually found in the throat. since you have difficult in swallowing, I would suggest that you undergo upper GI endoscopy to rule out any organic cause of difficulty in swallowing.
Avatar n tn Hello, Wondering if anyone can advise me here, since the beginning of Oct last year I have been feeling under the westher right up to now. I was feeling totally fine one day then woke up the next day feeling 'off', I had slight headaches, dizzyness and my head felt hot. The problems have always been slight and never major but they just keep reoccuring on off on off.
Avatar n tn I have the same exact problem with a lump in my throat and excessive mucus in my throat for 6 months also. I have been to doctor after doctor and had every test done. Today I went to a 3rd ENT, and he put a camera in my nose down into my throat and actually saw the abundance of mucus along with swelling. All the other doctors told me it was GERD and it was just a sensation. I knew I wasn't nuts.
Avatar f tn Hi, I recently moved to Florida and appear to be suffering from allergies. People have told me that the new area may be what's causing the problem. Last year I got sick twice and both times people were saying allergies could've been the culprit. This year (in early January) I started with an itchy throat. Back in December I had a problem with my ears itching (I assumed they were just dry and used Mineral Oil to ease the itching).
Avatar f tn for almost one year i have had a contant feeling of a lump in the back of my throat, been to visit my doctor and have been prescribed penicillin (which didnt help), eythromycin (which i had to stop taking due to very bad abdominal pains and sickness) and a steroid nasal spray (which didnt help). every time i swallow it feels as if i am swallowing a golf ball and i am always having to clear my throat.
Avatar f tn Forr tha past few months it has been dizziness and chest pain. Now it is the lump in the throat type and difficulty in swallowing feeling.Have recently had some genuine problems with my stomach that have been treated, but was wondering how common such a symptom is amongst everyone else here?It is as if it feels "too real" to be anxiety related.
