For the past maybe two years I have had charlie horses occuring in my neck. Or maybe its in my throat because when a charlie horse comes about, if I swallow, it tightens it more. The on-set of the charlie horse I have noticed has varied. I had one once after coughing up some water I had swallowed while swimming. Another time I was playing with my dog on my bed (laying on my back) and extended my head back and a charlie horse started.
I've been having severe anxiety and stress about it, and I live in an awful dump of a college housing apartment. Theres multiple problems like water damage in the ceiling above my shower, and my friend who lives upstairs has a hole in his bathtub, so water leaks wherever probably. I called the city health department and they told me that I have to get an independent agent to text for neuro-toxic mold, and and I've been to the doctor and no one seems to be helping me.
I didn't read what all the squabble was about recently, name calling and such, I choose to stay ignorant to that and know it will all work out in the end. For all of you new to tx, hang in there, evey day and every week is different, but in the long run so well worth any misery to get rid of this monster! Thanks for letting me vent here, feeling better already, feedback definetely welcome.
I noticed a few days ago that my left lymph node under my chin was very swollen to the point where I could feel it in my throat and it was uncomfortable to turn my head. Then I started with a severe flare up of RA and my back yesterday . It's so bad that I am completely bed bound. I can not sit up in the bed, I can't roll over, I can't stand or put ANY pressure on my right foot/leg without severe pain!

A few months later we discovered my daughter had a life threatening cyst in her throat which was operated on. This gave her a scar on her throat and again the taunting started. It took 12 months of me trying to get her back to school. I threatened the school with legal action if they did not intervene and stop this bullying. They turned around and said, I hear you see a psychiatrist? (I was undiagnosed Hashimoto's and suffered depressionI asked so?
feeling after a week or two of medication. I always have the throat-clearing, hoarseness, and throat problems that come with reflux, but in the last few months have been having more actual refluxing, constant belching, and heartburn. I've done all the lifestyle modifications; don't smoke, rarely drink (only like a glass of wine on occasion), never eat before bed, raised head of the bed, and so on. I had a couple of days of getting very angry and worked up just before this feeling came on.
It doesn't hurt or ache or sting. Can you recall that feeling in the back of your throat when you've been tensed up and crying too much. It feels as though I have that but in the top front of my head. It is completely uncontrollable. I don't have too much trouble sleeping. It is normal for me to wake up 2 or 3 times a night but that has been going on for as long as I can remember. This is just a horrifically annoying feeling...like my mind just won't turn the volume down.
Is it possible that this might be a throat problem more than a heart problem. When I get the feelings in my chest I belch and I feel better. Are there any other tests I should do to rule out heart issues first? or should I go to a Gastro Dr? Or am I just so scared of heart problems that i am creating these symptoms somehow? Can Anxiety make your heart feel like it skips a beat? Could this be a posture issue? I do have bad posture and am trying to change that. Along with man y other things.
I've had same problems in my fingers with pain whilst sometimes just sitting on sofa. Over past few weeks I've has 4 and today a major one in my hand (palm) went with lots of pain and major swelling. I was so shocked I came onto the net. I feel reassured though that this is nothing to worry about.
I have the charlie horses in various places around my body, legs, feet, hands, under the ribs, under the breasts, etc. The pain can be excruciating. It can literally bend me over, make me cry, and scream out in pain. It happens in the shower, walking, using the bathroom, sitting in a chair, sleeping, etc. There is no particular time that this occurs. I can be doing nothing at all but laying on the sofa watching TV. If I get them in my legs, I have to walk them out.
I am a woman who has always lived with men, guess problems I now remember in the years prior I must have just put behind me and forgot. When I finally got knew I had to get to the bottom line--the tests showed things I could relate to in years gone by, it took at least 2 or 4 months for me to accept it and to try to make adjustments to my life that I now know must be adheired to or the pain and worsning of my condition will happen.
For the past 2 days I have a very slight heat sensation in my lower left leg (no other problems). Is this some thing I should be concerned about now, or wait for my drs. appt in a few weeks?
Reglan (metoclopromadine) is a very cheap medication, unfortunately, it is also metabolized in the kidneys, so a too high dose results in toxic levels in the blood. My husband and I discovered that completely bypassing the GI tract by using reglan injections worked much better in the end. Chica didn't get the extra pyramidal side effects (extreme restlessness, shaking and trembling) from the reglan injections that she got from the oral meds.
Think alot about this before you do it, eating will never be the same, there are problems associated with the sx, I have ended up in the ER often with esopogeal spasms from throwing up, and getting dehydrated. I have lost 160 lbs since that time in 2003, but no without problems. Some people go through the sx with no problems, it is all a matter of your system and what you can tolerate. But I must say that I am not sorry for the surgery. I got my life back. Good luck to you.
I had just had throat surgery about 4 weeks ago, due to swollen lymph nodes in my right side of neck and throat all the time. I went to an ENT and I was diagnosed with an ulcer in the back of my throat. Ever since 4 weeks ago when I had my surgery I have been having bad pain under my rib cage again. Also pain in the chest, behind breast bone, pain between shoulder blades, stomach aches and soreness. Not to add the pinching and stabbing pains in my heart I get to where I can't even breath.
Since January I have had problems swallowing. In the mornings about an hour after getting up I will begin to get a sour/burning sensation in the back of my throat. I will take a Prilosec (as I have been directed by my doctor) and eat breakfast - symptoms will subside. Throughout the day I will get a tightening feeling in my throat and either chewing gum/drinking/eating will resolve this feeling for a while. I can also eat a couple antacids and the symptoms will subside.
Within two weeks, I began experiencing slight chest and left arm ache, but ignored them since there is no history in my family of heart problems and the symptoms only lasted about a half-minute. Over the two weeks, the symptoms gradually increased in frequency and duration until, on the evening of June 13, I had my first rapid heart incident which lasted for about two hours.
I am SO glad (but sad for you) to hear that others experience this phenomenon. I get the gurgling, swelling, vision problems, numbness in face, corresponding growls in stomach immediately followed by gurgling at skull base, etc. I have NEVER mentioned this to a doc because I could guess at the reaction as I was a Medical Assistant for 10 yrs. However, one night, my brother shared he had the same problem. I've never sustained a neck injury, but this has been going on most of my life.
I am also experiencing the same problems..I am currently in tears beacause it is so bad.It does not matter if I excercise or don't exercise i still hurt. The only thing that has helped is getting massages...which i cannot really afford. I have recently had tests run and everything came back fine but everyone keeps telling me that my pottassium is low or I have lupus or FM or my thyriod is not working right but the lupus and thyriod are fine. and my pottassium is actually too high..

It started out with myclonus and fasiculations. And then developed into migrains, memory problems, weakness in legs or burning pain, cramping hands, dropping things, major back pain, and just overall pain and weakness and fatigue. I was dignosed with fibromyalgia and my paperwork also says mild disc degerative disease. i took savella for the fibro and got multiple injections in my back and nothing has helped.

I have bad sleeping habits, but I am working on that - trying to get as much sleep as possible since last two months. Other than B12 , I am not on any drugs or supplements.

He recommended a nose/throat specialist for me to see. Visited the nose/throat doctor who also found nothing wrong. He suggested it could be asthma. Now by that time my coughing mysteriously diminished along with my shortness of breath although I continued to have a tickling in my right lung area. I requested a chest x-ray which was done. I received the results yesterday and have been climbing the walls since.
