Sore throat, fever is first sign of Covid19. It could be mono but you usually have extreme fatigue and sometimes pain in the spleen. Strep throat can give you a very very sore throat and fever. Usually with Strep there are white pus spots on the tonsils and/or back of the throat, also fatigue. Gonorrhoeae of the throat would be from oral sex and you can get pus in the throat as well, sore throat, and possibly fever. So it is hard to say which thing it is.
The following week I got very ill (flu like symptoms and sore throat) went to the Dr. had blood test and tested positive for mono. Now its mid Jan and despite slight improvement I still dont feel better. I have had so many different problems (fatigue, achy muscles and bones, sore neck, canker sores, dull pain beneath the ribs on both sides). It seems like my immune system has just shut down.
Can sore throat with mono later on lead to dry cough? When the sore throat was resolved, I had cough that persisted for three weeks and then resolved itself.I have had numerous sore throats in the past that uasually ends up with the cough. The cough then persists for averagely two weeks and resolves itself.
Mono has the same symptoms as strep throat or the flu. Your throat hurts but the main give away is that your lymph nodes in your neck are so swollen. The only way to be sure is to visit the doctor. And yes, it's very common to get it from sharing drinks, even from touching lips on a public drinking fountain.
Still have lump feeling in throat, tightness in neck and throat, occasional ear pain. Any thoughts? Had allergy testing done last year and no allergies. Dr said there was heavy post nasal drip. Wouldn't this be clearing by now? Also under a tremendous amount of stress with a sick parent and a daughter who is in remission.
Maybe a week after my throat started feeling funny never sore tonsils just felt swollen when i swallowed, paid it no mind then a two days later a sudden sore throat terrible pain. Went to the ER was diagnosed with strep and was prescribed amoxicillin. I noticed the white spots when i felt my tonsils swelling but it wasnt bad and i was thinking maybe its a bad sore throat but when the pain came the white spots spread.
Not now but I had strep infection the end of march with swollen lymph nodes..I don't drink or smoke..I have just been really tired and no fever..

Hello, years ago i was diagnosed with strep after a sexual encounter with a female. Kissing and oral performed on her. Days later my throat started to feel funny. First started off with tonsils feeling swollen when i swallowed and really paid no mind to it as there was no pain or flu/cold like symptoms. So about 2 days go by and i noticed white spots on tonsils and a little bit of pain when i swallowed.
The dull ache is not the type of pain associated with strep throat; it is more of a discomfort. Last week I noticed that I have a sore (red circle) at the base of my uvula, and this week I have one white spot on my right tonsil.
When I wake up every morning, my upper abdomen aches, especially on the left side under my rib cage. Also, my armpits ache some mornings (maybe lymph nodes?).
My throat closed. I got steroids and the hives got better. Then the joint pain kicked in. My hands and right shoulder were so painful I couldn't use/move them. The symptoms would go away and return (the joint pain not hives). My shoulder hasn't bothered me lately but my hands and fingers still hurt. Did this happen to anyone and can you offer any advice? these symptoms lasted from now until (nov 4) clearing up a lil around hallowween but never going away on nov 4 i started to develop sore throat and my nodes got bigger then they already were next day (nov 5) i went to the doctor he sed tonsilittis an gave me an antibiotic next day (nov 6) went to er and had a lil pain in my abdomin and couldnt breathe through my nose due to swollen adenoids he took blood and i tested for mono since then its been h*** but my question is those two weeks before is
I originally went to the doctor with overall feeling of malaise, headache, fever, slight sore throat and abdominal pain. I was tested for strep and mono. Strep came back positive (Strep C) and negative for mono. I was prescribed amoxicillin and was feeling much better on day 3 until I developed a horrible yeast infection. I was then prescribed the one dose of fluconazole and the yeast infection was cleared. My original symptoms were gone so I didn't bother taking the rest of the antibiotic.
friday i tested weakly postive for mono. does that mean i have it or just that i might have it? Could a weak postive mean i just have something else instead? (ive been really really worried about hiv for the past couple of weeks but the people on that forum told me i didnt have a real risk (i also tested for that at 6.5 weeks but wont get my results till thursday so keep me in your prayers please!))... The doc checked and said my lymph nodes and spleen didnt seem swollen.
I finally went to the doctor after feeling over all bad for months & months. Fatigue (terrible fatigue), feel "sick", chest hurt, terrible headaches, sick to my stomach, throat pain on & off. Doctor drew all kind of labs & the only thing that tood out was my EBV panel:

Diagnoses: Mono about 3 months ago, but getting over it.
The issue is, I feel worse than I ever have right now & I have not ever had Mono.
Aside from strep throat, mono is one of the most common causes for severe sore throat with white spots and fever.
Gonorrhea of the throat is rare from performing oral sex on a woman, and chlamydia is virtually never transmitted by oral sex, so you can expect those test results to be negative. However, since you also had unprotected vaginal sex, you should have urine tests for both those STDs, if not yet done.
I have a mildly sore throat that is presenting itself like strep with white pus on my tonsils (minus the severe pain, fever and other symptoms).
Went to the doctor today and they tested for strep, mono and the flu. All negative.
I tested for HIV today and also negative (rapid test, 5 weeks since last exposure)
Wondering what else it could be? Throat gono? Another virus?
i had a sexual encounter with a guy who gave me head and i gave him head but he wore a condom and he got tested and was std and hiv free I also looked up the symptoms of mono and I have had the sore throat that went away but i still have muscle aches and small slight headches at times could I have just recently gotten mono

Left neck/jaw lymph node swollen very large (painful), sore throat, kinda a very very mild sharp pain in right side of abdomen (hardly noticeable) and fatigue.
I read a lot about fevers for weeks and being very tired to where you cant hardly move. I was only like that the first few days, but it subsided. I only have the sore throat, abdomen pain, and large left side lymph node swelling. Is this the calm before the storm or possibly worse is over? My temp has averaged 98.2 since 3/10.
