Common Questions and Answers about Throat pain burning

OK- I woke up this morning with my throat burning horribly. It mostly hurts on the inhale, like.... cold burning, if that makes sense. The pain when I am outside (its -3 degrees wind chill) is almost unbearable. Throughout the day, the pain traveled from the top of my throat to the inside of the base of my neck, the very bottom of the throat. Sputum is a creepy halloween neon green, and my throat gets so stuffed at some points that I can barely talk. There is also a post-nasal drip.
Can acid reflux cause a burning in the back of your throat? I have a burning in the back of my throat, pain in the upper mid section at the sternum, my tongue gets a white coating on it. I went to my md and he put me on Prilosec and Zantac. I have had an ultrasound of my gallbladder and a HIDA scan both normal.

Just a few minutes ago I all of a sudden felt a burning sensation on the upper left part of my mouth near my throat. While it was still burning, a felt a little bit of something ooze into my throat and I swallowed it. (I am pretty sure it did not taste like blood.) I tried drinking some water, but it did not help to lower down the pain of the burning. This happens only once in a while; never often. It stopped about five minutes after the burning started. What might this be?
It started off as a feeling of something in my throat and has graduated to a burning, stabbing, piercing pain in my throat and esophagus. The only time I don't experience this pain is when I'm eating and lying down/sleeping. I have had my throat scoped by 2 ENTS, had 2 endoscopy procedures, an impedence pH procedure (24 hour), a swallowing test, bloodwork, my throat dilated and am having an MRI of the neck and throat today.

My question is this: I have had a burning sensation on my skin that started in 2002. It was very slight in 2002 and went away. I also had/have a bruised feeling all over my body most everyday. In May 2003 I went to see my eye specialist for an eye disease I have - Pars Planitis. I know it has it's links to auto immune diseases (including MS). I have had this disease in my left eye for 10 yrs now w/ no problems or treatment. My eye dr. told me to get tested for MS.
This spring I started to have a buring sensation in my Lungs and Throat. Also, a sever pain in my left shoulder from time to time. I seen my normal doctor multiple times and had chest X-rays. Their first diagnosis was a signs of COPD. I am 29 and barely ever smoked and am 6'8" tall and pretty thin. They ruled out COPD after they re-looked at the Xrays because my size my lungs are bigger. I was put on Alleve to see if that would get rid of the inflamation.
I am still experiencing a fair amount of sinus drainige in my throat. I have noticed in the past week or so that I have a pain or a sort of burning sensation in my throat or chest, I am not exactly sure where, when I walk in the cold air, or at times when I bend over. I do not seem to be short of breath and have no other symptoms. In addition, this pain or burning sensation is not present constantly, just periodically.
Burning Lungs and Throat I have a burning sensation in my lungs and throat when I run or when I do any high intensity excise. Several hours after my exercise I take a large breath and it feels like my lungs are on fire. The only thing I can equate the burning sensation too, is when you take a huge breath on a very smoky day. I assume that something is being inflamed in the lungs and along my esophagus. But I don't know what the cause.
Today I just had a little small upchuck in my throat and it was nothing but liquid stomach acid and my throat was on fire, it felt like someone was taking nails and knives and jus continuously clawing down my throat and it was as hot as heated iron. I had to just suck on ice and get it in the back of my throat as far as i could without swalling to help it go away. I need to know what to do the next time that happens since it took me almost 30 min to make it go away using the ice method.
About a week ago, i did feel like i was getting sick and I had a headache, fatigue, some muscle soreness in my shoulders, and burning in my throat ( no pain or soreness). It could possibly be Chlamydia - Chlamydia can result in a burning sensation when urinating and can also infect the throat and rectum through oral or anal sex. The good thing about Chlamydia is it will all be cleared up and gone with one set of tablets. The bad thing is its very contagious and possibly wont show up on tests after two days. Also, if left untreated can lead to infertility and serious vision problems.
My child has cough variant asthma. When he coughs he complains of pain in his throat or pharnyx. His allergist says sometimes kids don't know where the pain is coming from, but I disagree. He is very specific. Why would he have pain here?
I am a 45 year old female with Fibromyalgia (I have had this about 10 years). I have had throat pain for around 13 years. It started as a slight tickle, then progressed to a frequent "throat clearing". I now have a very sensitive gag reflex so that I have trouble eating sometimes. If food touches my throat, I can begin to cough; this can either lead to more coughing or vomiting. If I have a coughing fit, it causes my head to hurt around the temple area.
in december, one week my throat began to burn, i had stopped taking the acid reflex. my throat got worse, but the burning went away, i went to an ent again he gave me avelox (on monday), an atibiotic, and steroid for swelling (wednesday) , but then it started to have a *frog* in my throat. my throat felt like something was stuck there for about 4 days tues-friday). that end of the week, it had cleared. i also started getting chills that lasted about 3 (wed-fri) days.
