As per my previous post I had a throat infection and couple of skin infections for which my doc prescribed week course of erythromycin, seemed to clear the throat but then within days it was back 10 times worse accompanied by singular swollen pea sized node under left armpit and neck felt glandy, doctor has put me on another week course of erythromycin, 2 days in my throat still hurts like hell and myblegs fell like ive ran a marathon, also keep getting pains in armpits and left breast area (s
Unfortunately the day after the encounter I received oral sex from my wife to be. She has since been prescribed erythromycin for a throat infection. I was given medication at the gum clinic.1) What are the chances of her contracting chylamidia or gonnohrea from me by giving me oral sex? 2) would that be to the throat or could it infect the vagina? 3) will the erythromycin clear any infection?
I am terrified. Needless to say if she finds out about my drunken fumble there will be no wedding.
I went to my doctor and he did a blood test and urinalysis and also scheduled an ultrasound as well as prescribed amoxicillin for 10 days for a throat infection. Nothing turned up. A few weeks later I went back in still having flow issues, he prescribed cipro for 7 days, which helped for a little while and cleared up flow issues. In the middle of September I was prescribed a z pak for a sinus infection but now I was having some pain in my testicles.
I've taken antibiotics during pregnancy and it's been fine (amoxycillan and cephalexin).
But if your doc has given it to you for something stupid, like a cold or a cough, without testing a swab, maybe get a second opinion. Some doctors prescribe antibiotics way beyong what's recommended by research, and they are not good for you to take health wise as they kill off all the good bacteria which maintains good digestion and immunity.
I know strept throat is a bacteria and I think so his strept in your anus, but I was just wondering how do you contact, or is it due that he didn't get cleaned enough.
Sooo... I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?
Hope someone can shed some light on this.
Was given 1g azithromycin and the following day I was at Drs for throat infection and given 7 days of erythromycin at 250mgx4 per day. Still feeling symptoms I went back twice to GUM who took slides from urethra and told no sign of infection.Female I had encounter with checked twice for STD and negative. I was still feeling symptoms and went to gp urineanalysis-negative. I paid for private trich urine test-negative.
You are lucky fi you can take antibiotics at all. Antibiotics (almost of them) close my throat. Antibiotic treatment for something as simple as strep throat could kill me. I've had several close calls. I'd love to be able to just take an antibiotic when I have something bacterial, or when I need surgery. Life is a lot more risky for me.
If you have a bacterial infection, antibiotics must be continued until the infection is destroyed. If you cannot tolerate erythromycin you should have been immediately switched to an alternative antibiotic.
I get it every 2-3 months, and am usually perscribed an antibiotic by a doctor, and begin feeling better within 24-48 hours after treatment. I got it again today [this time it had been exactly 4 months since the last infection] but this time it was directly after getting over a cold that had my throat sore, nose running, and had me coughing. I'm wondering, as I read more and more online, if I would have gotten over all those bouts of tonsilitus without the antibiotcs.

my son is 9+yrs and has had a stiff neck since oct/nov last year. suddenly 2mo's ago he got really swollen glands with sore throat and bad chest infection with wheezing asthma, followed by high fever ard 5days later. it affected his liver too for e next 2months_swollen and palpable, with upset stomach and pain below the ribs. the doc suspected EBV, so he was told no sports for 2mo's. a test showed that it was an old ebv infection, but not active.
The next day or a couple of days later my throat started to get sore. It got worse progressively over the next few days. Then yesterday (thursday 24th) i discovered I had crabs. I bought some derbac and applied it as the instructions said and washed all my clothes etc. and the itching has gone now. I hadn't been with anyone since that last guy. That day I also developed a fever of about 101 degrees.

Sounds like you have a bad infection. Tooth infection CAN lead to ear infection. Your ear is more than likely infected.
Tinnitus DOES cause noises only detectable to you...but the pain is something else.
As for tinnitus...there are surgeries, implants, pills, etc that have been tried, but most fail. I have suffered with this since I was about 12...I am now almost 50.
You work in a bar, and ear problems are to be expected...sorry.
Next, should be an examination of your nose and surrounding tissues, looking particularly for signs of infection. Such infection can sometimes be treated with surface antibiotics, placed directly in the nose.

I went away and a few days later I had a chest infection which I saw my gp for and got erythromycin 250 4 times a day. I completed the course. Over the past few days I have been feeling the symptoms of slight 'precum' at times in my uretha. The gum clinic called and said that all my tests have come back negative anyway. My questions are. Is there any way the medication I could have taken would not have cured any NSU I may have had. What could it be if not an STD/Nsu?

i am 25 years old, 95 kg weight, almost 25 days ago i started to feel pain in throat, i took Over The counter Erythromycin, which i only took 5 tablets until my symptoms got worse, i quit smoking and started azythromycin it was 3 days course but my symptoms got worse, thats when i consulted a ENT specialist who recommended Cefixime, i took that, but now the symptoms had grown below pharynx and larynx was also inflamed, it really hurt when i talk to i took some voice rest and steam inhala
My penis was not quite hard during the whole encounter. Three weeks later I developed sore throat and fever around 99.5! No rashes or lymph nodes. I went to a doctor and told him my exposure. He told that risk is low but I need to test after 30 and 90 days for HIV and other STD.
Got tested on 27th day for HIV by ora quick and complete STD panel spending 500 dollars. All came back negative!
My doctor is not satisfied and wants me to take another complete test after 3 months.
When I say it can cause blindness I didn't specify myself properly. There have been strains known to be "immune" to erythromycin so if your baby has an infection in their eyes and they put it on their is a chance that it could be an immune strain and could cause blindness from the infection. The erythromycin it self can cause eye irrataion.
