their getting bigger and spreading to the tonsil, but I dont have a sore throat. I do get a earache and ear pain now and then though. They look kinda funny. They dont seem red nor nothing... they seem for be weirdly formed. Example its not a solid lump.. it looks like it has ravines or craters in it. Its not red or white either. I dont have trouble swallowing or eating. Just feeling like the throat is getting smaller.
I woke up with pain in the back of my mouth in my ear, my throat and in my forehead surrounding my eye. I'm assuming it's either an ear infection or TMJ. I have to move, and I can't lift stuff. I also was suppposed to go grocery shopping today. Now Allan's probably going to have to do it all himself. I don't want him to have to do everything. It's really frustrating.
Hi all, I've got a major problem with my right ear. I was diagnosed with an ear infection a few weeks ago. I was also having severe headaches. Almost the worst I've ever had. The pain spreads to the top front of my head, real stabbing pain. I've had 2 lots of antibiotics, the doc said the infection is gone but the pains are still there. Gave me Sudofed for the catarrh build up. That was a week ago.
You MUST go to an ear nose throat ENT doctor. Your gp may have checked your ears and they were okay, but an ENT is an expert in what's going on with your earaches and probably blocked sinus cavities.
If you have had a recent throat infection, it could also be a lymph node enlargement. So, if the pain does not resolve, please consult a dentist for assessment. He may even ask for blood test and an X ray. In the meantime you can use OTC Acetaminophen for relief from pain. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
I should be referred to an Ear Nose and Throat Specialist, meantime, how do I treat my sinusitis symptoms and earache at home while I wait tp be referred. I have been suffering with this condition since August.
(At the time, I had been working at a concert venue for three years and I used earplugs during most of the shows that I had worked.) I believed that I may have gotten an ear infection/earache due to the earplugs...at times, it was hard to hear customers so having to pull the earplugs in and out to speak with customers was something I did often. After a week or two, the pain went away so I didn't see it necessary to see a doctor.
Hi, The pea sized swelling behind the tongue must be either a hypertrophied lingual tonsils (it is a lymphoid tissue) which enlarges during a throat infection or an ectopic thyroid tissue. As well, you had an upper respiratory tract infection I presume, because of which you are having ear ache and the throat pain. You can definitely wait and watch for the progression of the lesion. Once you have done your insurance get an ultrasound of the neck done to rule out ectopic thyroid tissue.
It's far more likely to be a run of the mill viral throat infection/upper respiratory infection than it is to be a std.
I have just recently recovered from a sore throat and cough which my doctor just passed as a viral infection. Now I have just been left with a chesty cough which is what usually happens after a cold. However, this morning I woke up with a severe headache at the front and side of my head, and it hurts whenever i move or get up, it's so bad it only seems to go away when I close my eyes or go to sleep. I also get a slight earache and my left ear feels blocked.
Opening the mouth wide opens the eustacian tube that connects the ear to the throat and is often inflammed in an ear infection (thus this is not unexpected). I hope this has been helpful.

After getting on the antibiotic, which I started three days ago now, I don't have the sinus headache anymore but the earache and sore throat are still there pretty strong. Finally, the phlegm in my throat stopped being so green/brown and recently went to a clear/white thick with bright red in it. Last night I brought up some that was all red. I only started coughing after the blood was found in my phlegm, so what could possibly cause this?
Hello and hope you are doing well. It could most probably be tonsillitis and a throat infection. This could cause enlarged lymph nodes. Throat pain, difficulty swallowing, fever, scratchiness in the throat, post nasal drip, malaise and loss of appetite are symptoms of tonsillitis. It can be caused by bacteria like streptococcus or it could be a viral infection. There are tubes called 'Eustachian tubes' which connect the middle ear to the throat, this balances the air pressure in the ears.
Hello, It seems that you have developed throat infection. It can be due to viral or bacterial causes.Take some over the counter medications like chlorpheniramine or cetrizine for symptomatic relief. Drink plenty of water and fluids. Steam inhalation may provide some relief. If the symptoms are severe or persistent a clinical examination may be necessary. It is suggested to discuss your concerns with your attending ENT specialist .I sincerely hope it helps. Best luck and regards!

My Left ear and the left side of my throat has been hurting over the past few weeks. At time my ear iches, and my throat is sore when I swallow. I have not had a feaver, nor do I feel sick just this pain. Do you think it is more likley that I have an allergy to something, or do you think I have a virus. Do you know of any at home remidies to help sooth the pain?
I'm on my 10th day with a sore throat. It started as a severly sore throat, could hardly swallow, swollen and sore glands in the neck accompanied with some mild flu like symptoms (fatigue, slight fever, nasal congestion & diareaha). The flu symptoms faded after 72 hours. However, the sore throat remained. It did seem to get better for a day. But returned the following day accompanied with a dry cough.
5 days ago i had a medium sized polyp removed from the right side of my throat (just near to my tonsil), it was painful, but no more than i expected, and after 2 days, it started to feel like it was getting betetr. the pain was lessoning. im now on day 5 and its got alot worse, but almost like a different kind of pain. my tongue has swollen very slightly, and i have ear ache on the side where i had the operation. im taking the strongest dissolvable pain killers in the pharmacy.
Until you can get in to see the doctor, try some over the counter sore throat remedies/helpers such as a throat spray, acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain (double check with your doc before taking anything if you are on any other meds), gargling with warm salt water or even an anti bacterial mouthwash. Also be sure and keep your throat as moist as possible - drink extra liquids and even sucking on a piece of hard candy or cough drop can help sometimes.
PS my systoms of lump in my throat came right after I had an upper resiratory infection as well. I still have this lump sensation in my throat. I had an endoscope and found out I had gastritis and was percribed Preavid. Went back to my ENT and demanded an MRI. The test showed I had a cyst under my right tonsil and recently had a tonsillectomy and had a partial uvulectomy. I still have this sensation.
After a week of the sore throat, a slight earache accompanied it. I have seen no sores anywhere around my lips or tongue. Nothing on the roof or floor of my mouth. It all is located only in the throat. Then, it went away. I had been gargling with salt water and peroxide daily, and used eardops once the earache started. After the symptoms were gone for a week, the sore throat returned. Any advice or possible diagnosis? I posted under Herpes, cuz I wasn't sure where to put it.

Test show swollen lymph nodes (no tumors/abnormalities) and elevated white cell count indicating infection. 2nd ENT scoped my nasal passages into throat - found nothing. Suggested chronic tonsilitis but looked okay. Waiting for allergy tests but experience daily throat swelling sensation and shortness of breath, sore throat, swollen uvula.
