The swelling and discomfort could be due to a throat infection. It's unlikely to be due to throat cancer. White patches are common in many throat infections. The sore throat and tonsillitis which your son had may have contributed to it. In response to the infection the body produces soft white debris which collects in the tiny indentations in the tonsils called crypts. Repeated salt water gargles will help.

Ive been reading about how HPV is linked to throat cancer and I am EXTREMEMLY worried and freaking out, (because of my pre-cancerous condition in the past.) I do not smoke or drink, so ive read thats a plus. So, my overall question is.....I had both dysplasia and warts. I thought low-risk HPV gave you warts and high-risk could give you cancer. Is there a type that produces both? or is it possible I have two strains of HPV? Should I be worried about throat cancer?
I have looked up pictures of strep throat and of oral cancer and it looks like cancer. I am scared that I have contracted hpv and now am developing orpharyngeal cancer.
I also read about hiv causing most of oral problems and I was tested in March and came back negative. I also tested myself with an in home kit last month and it was negative.
My question is what do I need to do in my next step? Go to a gyno? Ask for std testing? See an ent doc? See a cancer specialist? Get a shot for hpv?

I learned that throat cancer can cause lump in throats feeling and stuff and I do feel that sometimes and I feel like my throat is tight sometimes too, however I suffer from anxiety disorder and tight throat, lump in throat sensations are part of the symptoms. Also, I notice that if I eat spicy or deep fried food, or sing for a long time, my throats will hurt a bit and there will be some red dots, and when I sing I notice that I can't reach some high notes that I used to be able to sing.
ur GP is right.high risk hpv does not caught issues in throat.uf u keep regular with paps and follow advice ur risk of cerv cancer is low to nil as well.

I have no visible warts on my penis, however, I have been having this soar feelings in my throat for over a week, as well as fatigue and a slight headache. So during the second week of june, I could very tired, fatigued, fever, sore throat, lost a lot of weight due to not eating cause of throat. My mouth and throat had white patches all over it. Had a strep test and mono test done twice. I was given medication to treat sore throat, it all got better. Went to the hospital, had X-rays done of my upper chest and everything was normal. During this time, my lymph nodes were beginning to swell in my neck.
The back base of my tongue looks very white. I also notice what looks like a yellowish white zit looking thing near the tonsils. The tonsils themselves look very bumpy, discolored,and infected. It looks like thwy are eother growing larger or there is growth forming on them which in return worries me. I hope this isnt cancer related. This has been going on for a while now and idk what it is. Any advice and knowledge that can help me would be appreciated.
