I was never given a real diagnosis but after a few years finally read something that sounded familiar in a Mayo Clinic Health Book. Globus Hystericus is the condition and seems to be caused by Acute Anxiety. I still get the sensation every now and then but now that I know what causes it I am able to control it. I seem to be a very tense person and have force myself to relax.
Then had a mri of spine and brain- all normal. Then a spinal tap- normal again. Doc suggested either Mayo clinic or a chicago university. I went to a hospital in chicago and repeated blood and emg. They told me I was fine and showed no signs of neuropathy and that if the docs office was cold it could have thrown off the test(im glad i spent 2000.00 on a test for no reason).
What about going to the Mayo Clinic?? Maybe they can help.

Literally, within hours, I start developing flu-like symptoms. My throat starts burning and itching, and by the next day, I feel congested, have a fever, and I feel weak. Usually within 3-4 days, the symptoms are gone. This is the second time that this has happened in the past few months, both times, immediately after I exercise, so I don't think it's a coincidence.
mayo clinic snot). Once you get an infection, all the bacteria, viruses, allergens, and toxins take on a life of their own. The cure is to get rid of the pustulence, with surgery--no way!--or advanced saline sinus flush. I got a Snot Demon for 7 yrs, teaching grade school/germ factory. A cold in the fall, then sinusitis, lost smell then taste, Cipro, hawk spit cough, sore throat, partial recovery in summer. Then I heard about a saline flush, like the one mentioned above.
I basically managed to narrow it down (through existance of, or lack of, other symptoms) cervical cancer or implantation bleeding. I have 3 children (and had one miscarriage) and have never experienced implantation bleeding. Anyway, I saw my doctor on Jan. 5 and she did an internal exam, a pap to test for cervical cancer, and a urine pregnancy test. The pg test was negative but then it was still several days before my period was due.

Hello, Just got back from doctor's appointment. Discussed the lyme and getting my throat and jaw MRI. Patsy, do you know if these symptoms could be caused by some kind of neurotoxin? I work in a photo lab and have worked around photo chemicals for a long time. My neuro says the levels of chemicals aren't high enough to cause damage and my other co-workers aren't sick. These neuro symptoms all started after I injured myself with the x-acto knife.
It started in my shoulders and has moved all over my body. I also had testicular cancer, and one treatment of chemo and syphillis last year. Rheuamtology tests have comeup negative and doctors are at a loss for what is going on. Am fully recovered at this time from both. Also beginning to feel numbness and tingling in my hands and fingers. Also it is not just cracking, there is strange movement and sometimes I have mild involuntary twitching though it is becoming more frequent.

I am at some ease if that is possible with the fact of being at the Mayo Clinic with some of the best doctors, my husband keeps telling that. I only hope with my moms being benign that mine will be too. My husband and I want to have a baby and I fear that if the outcome is cancer thou they say it is very curable that this will hamper that possibilty, my focus is on being benign and being happy for that . I am very greatful for this site and yours word of support.

If your boyfriend's insurance company will allow it, I suggest you go to an established cancer center like MD Anderson or Mayo Clinic (if you're in the United States). In those centers, he will be handled by a team of experts who routinely discuss patients' cases in tumor boards which result in better coordination of all treatment efforts.
No breathlessnes but always hoarse and clearing my throat. I have hiatal hernia. In 2002 I had PFT tests done at Mayo Clinic in 2002. FVC 107%, FEV1 93% FEV1/FVC 71.4. DLCO 77% adj. Methacholine caused 28% decline in FEV1. Post BD FEV1 2.08 (73%). At Mayo endoscopy also diagnosed allergic rhinitis and significant chronic laryngitis. Seven weeks ago during a bad cold, I woke up unable to breathe in. I never had anything like that happen. The ER, diagnosed bronchitis with an asthma attack.
My journey began about 5 years ago with intermittent muscle stiffness in my left hip. Doctors didn't know what was causing it - so off to PT I went. The PT made it worse, although the stretching seemed to help. After 3 months of PT I was frustrated by no progress/more pain. I went to a low force chiropractor, who after about 6 visits gave me some relief.

There is nothing worse than a pain you can't seem to treat or get an answer about. I can totally sympathize. There are so many causes of pain on the upper left side of a persons abdomen.
In addition, since it appears that you have sought care from a number of local physicians, you would do well to request consultation from an all-purpose clinic such as the Mayo Clinic or an equally large and diversified Clinic such as those found at University Medical Centers. You have provided ample information but I cannot begin to suggest a diagnosis. This will require the hands-on care of doctors accustomed to dealing with complicated illnesses, such as yours.
I have spent considerable time researching chronic sinus and it appears that Mayo Clinic has made the proper analysis of chronic sinus. They claim that over 95% of all chronic sinus conditions are caused by fungus and not bacteria. Unfortunately, at this time, there is no known cure for chronic sinus. Mayo Clinic is working with other researchers to develop a medication to treat fungus but those results may be a couple of years away.
If somebody had these symptoms (something stuck in the throat, chronic cough and chronic throat clearing) please tell me what did you do, and if you found something that worked as good as tussionex.
which will give you a Mayo Clinic article about bone cancer. Go down again about a third of the way, and you will see clearly that an ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON operates on bone cancer, in concert with oncologists, which both are the type of docs I told the original poster 16 months ago to seek out for getting a biopsy and any treatment. You might argue with ME, but you cannot argue with that respected online stuff.
My sister had a biopsy done (at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix AZ) on a nodule that was .8 cm, it can be done, it is just harder to do. Imagine hitting a small cherry pit sized object with a very small needle... The hoarseness is a concern, especially with all the other symptoms, I had most of the same, I did have cancer and it was causing my hoarseness...NOT TO SAY YOU HAVE THE SAME. Thyroid problems are notoriously hard to diagnose.
