Common Questions and Answers about Throat cancer symptoms in women

Avatar m tn Also... cancer does not develop in a few weeks. A lump in the back of your throat from an exposure a few months ago seems very unlikely. Also, everyone can see the veins in the back of their throat. I just checked... I can too.
Avatar f tn I would say it could be oral HPV but that this is fairly rare in women and the wart strain does not cause cancer (from what my research indicates). There are about 100 strains of HPV and only a very few cause cancer and warts and neither do both. As always it is best to just go and get tested when in doubt. On the bright side many strains of HPV can be flushed from the body in months to a couple of years.

Avatar f tn My 82-year old Dad, who is in good health, has been getting very hoarse in his throat for going on a year now. His voice isn't too bad in the a.m., but around 12:00, he starts getting hoarse. By nighttime, you can't even understand him. He says nothing hurts him, it's just he can't speak. Can you help me with this This discussion is related to throat/hoarseness symptoms 6weeks and counting.
Avatar n tn The risk is pretty low, with the vast amount of the sexually active population having hpv at some point (80%) and the low numbers of oral and throat cancers- it can be concluded that your chances are low, but no impossible another factor they are connecting with hpv and throat cancer is marijuana use-whether or not this is just a correlatio is still up for further research.

Avatar m tn Rafsan, your mother does need to get medical attention as soon as possible. As women, we know the severity of Breast Cancer. There are different types, some can spread rapidly without one even knowing. My mother's doctor just recently found a lump and turns out it is cancerous. I am not trying to scare you, but you do need to be aware of the high risk that women have of getting Breast Cancer. I would seek immediate medical attention..
Avatar f tn For about 4 years now, I've had this weird lump in my throat. It's not there all the time but I notice it mostly at night. It feels like I have to keep swallowing my saliva. It keeps me awake and I'm really worried that I have cancer in my esophagus. I rarely get heart burn and it's the only symptom that I have. Is it possible that I have Barrett's esophagus?
Avatar f tn My husband and I have only had oral sex a couple times early in our relationship, but I have noticed I do for FACT have some oral warts in my mouth and in my throat, but not many. I have been reading that HPV is linked to throat cancer, so i am EXTREMELY worried and anxious!! I am going to the doctor next week. My questions are.... 1. My GYN told me I was now immune to the strain of HPV i have, even though I may be immune could i still get warts? 2.
Avatar n tn I have noticed on/off for several years that I get a sharp buzzing pain on the left side of my head in the throat area. It happens once in a great while where I will be fine one minute and then all of a sudden I get this sharp buzzing pain, then after a few seconds it goes away. I have only had this about 1-2x every 6months-1year but when it comes it is really painful and scares me. No other symptoms.

976897 tn?1379167602 Most women believe that cancer (breast in particular) is the number one killer of women, and they are dead wrong! I am standing with you on this, dear friend.

Avatar m tn I am a male 26 yrs old healthy I examined myself and there were no lumps in my neck ,,, so what is that possible to be I am concerned with cancer because of its persistence ,, I don't know if it's herd or something more serious
Avatar n tn She said she had to go back for another pap, but the doctor said it was the strain that could cause cancer in women. I am so paranoid now that since I had oral with her that the virus particles are in my throat and will eventually give me throat cancer, or that her giving me oral will cause me to get cancer down there. I know I sound pathetic, but I don't know what else to do.
Avatar f tn he had the same exact symptoms for a good year or so.. suddnly they found cancer in his lymh nodes and ssaid that it had to have been somewhere else first i honestly believe that it was stomach cancer or throat cancer from the h-pyloi this scares me as i still have no ins.
Avatar m tn I also have had some ear pain with this round of the tightness, I have never noticed ear pain before when I was having the tight feeling in my throat. I think the last time that I had the tight feeling in my throat besides right now, was sometime in 2007. So it comes and goes, and it stays away for a long time when it leaves.
Avatar f tn Off and on for the past year or so I have been having this sensation of a lump in my throat. I went to see an ENT and he did a scope (went in through the nose and looked down at the throat), I had a CT of the throat, and an Ultrasound of my thryroid and a Upper GI Series (Barium Swallow).
