throat cancer hot drinks

I also noticed this past week I had cancer sores in my mouth and my throat seemed sensitive when i would drink soda. I am kind of worried!

Do you think it can be throat cancer???Im not a smoker and im a social drinker ,every thing i read points to throat cancer which got me really concerned.I also read somthing called cricophargngeal spasms do you think it could be that. sorry doc, im just really nervous i have had this just to long. thank you.

I was given a choice to either quit smoking and hope that we were early enough to have caught it, and hope that my throat repairs itself, or end up with throat cancer and all that goes with it. I quit smoking. My following check ups have been all good. I am LUCKY, because I didnt wait, I have lost to many friends and family to cancer, (on my husbands side even non smokers). So please dont wait, get to a Doctor. I may not be here today if I didnt Jump to it.

Musinex is ok to take if your congested. Also sudafed is ok. And hot drinks like hot tea help the throat, also gargle salt water it helps too.

I finally get out of bed around 5 ish, drink a cup of hot coffee and within about an hour my sore throat is gone until around 8:00 at night again. Also in the morning then I am very hot and sweaty. Any suggestions.

Many women suffer from hot flashes caused by these medications but can find some relief when they avoid hot and spicy foods, caffeinated drinks,alcohol and smoking and having lots of fans in the house...LOL. I hope that your wife will soon consult with her Oncologist and see what can be done to relieve her discomfort. All the best to both of you...

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the inside of my throat to be numb? I literally can't feel myself swallow or if my drinks are cold or hot? It's a little concerning and it doesn't seem like the Drs care or have a clue.

OK so this has been happening for a very long time, I guess I never really thought about it too much. These could be related but two issues I've noticed: my voice cracks quite often; something that has stuck with me since high school. When I say often, probably 5 times throughout the day. My second problem is whilst I love drinking coffee (even tea as well) I feel like my throat builds up with something that I have to keep clearing.

I went to see an ENT and he did a scope (went in through the nose and looked down at the throat), I had a CT of the throat, and an Ultrasound of my thryroid and a Upper GI Series (Barium Swallow). There was nothing he could see from the scoping, the CT came back negative, the Barium swallow showed mild to moderate acid reflux, and the ultrasound showed nodules (which the doc said was nothing to worry about). All in all everything that was done did not show any type of mass or obstruction.

I never had problems swallowing with acid reflux until I developed Dysplagia. Actually I used to vomit from the acid coming up so swallowing was not an issue. But I have had a bad stomach since I was around 13yrs old so it (acid reflux/gerd, spastic colon, celiac's disease, pernicious anemia, etc...

There are many things that can be causing your symptoms... it could be gastritis, an ulcer, acid reflux... the list goes on and on but the chances of it being any kind of cancer are actually very very low. Keep a food dairy, writing down everything you eat and drink, how it makes you feel right away and over time... this will help you see any trends in what you are eating and what might be triggering things.

The weather where I am has been rain, rain , rain , hot , hot , gloomy, hot, so on... my sister has a cold or sinus infection and I'm wondering if I have that too. It could be the flu because I recently went to a place packed with people , really easy to pick something up. Anyway I have a stuffy nose sometimes runny , my throat did feel scratchy or like clogged but I've been drinking hot drinks to help that.

Also, today I keep having to clear my throat, and since difficulty swallowing and hoarseness or feeling the need to clear the throat are possible symptoms of cancer, it just worries me that much more. Apparently acid reflux is often the result of anemia.Serious acid reflux if not treated can burn the throat lining it really needs checking.

Why is it when I drink hot drinks or even drink juice from hot soups it affects me in a negative way? I know getting hot messes with me and many, does drinking hot drinks affect you too or is this just in my head? I am confused. My sister has MS and she is so different from me when it comes to symptoms.

I was diagnosed w/Barrett's esophagus last summer. My specialist told me to come back in 3 years and be re-tested to see if it had returned to normal. Can your esophagus ever be normal again? I think my doc's a quack! He only prescribed Zantac 150 3x's a day, and told me I could continue to drink coffee all day long (I'm a 6 cupper) and drink alcohol at night (which I've been doing), My primary care dr.

For sore throats and coughs, robitussin is ok, along with chloraseptic spray, cough drops, salt water gargles, and hot drinks, like tea. You can also try a humidifier and see if that helps as well.
