You may have infected your eye from the throat infection and it might be cleared by the Azithromycin if it is the same organism that is causing the problem. But usually they give you eye drops for an eye infection that have antibiotics in them, so I'm not sure if the oral med will care of the problem. You could also have an allergy, virus in the eye or have accidently got something else in your eye. Try eye drops and if it doesn't clear up in a day or two then see an eye doctor.
I never get eye infections. green mucus in the mornings and swelling in the corner of the eye. I started polysporin drops immediately and 5 days later I still have the infection....arguably worse. I would just let it pass and see what happens, but with young kids around the house, stakes are high. One other piece of info is my son also had an eye infection that started the day before mine, but went away in 2 days with drops.
I am wondering if any of these actions could have led to an HIV infection. I am worried because i understand that throwing up can cause cuts and bleeding in the throat and/or stomach, which seems like a possible infection route.
I looked at my mouth and face in the morning, and did not see any visible blood.
If there was blood in the bowl with vodka in it, or blood on/in the glass of water I drank, would I be at risk?
Would I be at risk if toilet water/vomit got into my eye or mouth?

There is a duct called the nasolacrimal duct, which connects the lacrimal sac (where the tears collect) to the nose. This duct may get damaged during surgery and can cause watering of the eyes. But sometimes there could be an infection of the lacrimal sac (Dacryocystitis), which can cause watering of the eyes. This can be diagnosed with further testing like syringing of the eyes.
I just went to the doctor earlier today and he told me i had a sinus infection and strep throat but now about 3 hours ago my eye started burning and when i looked inside it it had white sticky stuff in it. (like with pink eye.) could a sinus infection have anything to do with it or should i get my throat rechecked for other possible things causing it? and what about my eye? Could they possibly tie in together?
he said it was from my sinus and I had a lot of drainage in the back of my throat and gave me somthing. It never fully went away but neither did my drainage. Lately I've had a lot of drainage, aches around my eye area and in cheek/ nose area, swollen/ feeling as if somthing is stuck in my throat, pain in one ear or both, sharp pains down throat usaully same side as the ear, heartburn,, stomach pain at the top of the stmoach and bloating. Is this a sinus infection or somthing else?
it started before he got the antibiotic though, and before the MRSA throat infection was diagnosed. And this all started with what I thought was a virus. Do you think he should get a sputum culture, and is that even possible when he's not coughing? Thanks again for all your advice, you've been very helpful, which is very much appreciated.. it makes this a lot harder that he's in another country and I can't talk to the doctors there.
It is not very common for her to get these so I was just wondering if this was a sign of chlamydia. I just think that it is strange for her to have uti and eye infection in two days. If I tested negative for gonorrhea does that also mean a negative result for chlamydia?? Is eye infection common std symptom??

I glanced in the mirror, and on that side, my eye was swollen and that eye was REAL dilated. In fact, my nose was kinda runny and my face in general was a little swollen. An hour or so later, when I looked in the mirror again, the eye was back to normal, matching the other one. So, I assume that the fluid, that had accumulated from solid sleep, had drained.
I had a bout of sore throat and something like a flu about 3 weeks back. I was given amoxycilin 250mg for 5 days, but till now, I have been experiencing a dark brownish mucous from my nose when I suck my mucous back and spit it out during the mornings. Throughout the day, when I blow my nose, there will be occasional green mucous too. But phlegm that I cough out is colourless. My throat is only very slightly sore occasionally.
Drinking warm lemonade, hot clear soups and herbal tea may soothe the throat considerably. Do a valsalva maneuver (Done by taking a deep breath and blowing while pinching your nostrils and closing your mouth) to relieve pressure from internal ear and blocked Eustachian tube (tube connecting ear to throat). Relieving this pressure may relieve some symptoms. I would strongly recommend you to consult an ENT specialist. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Take care!
