And my throat closes, so that I constantly drink water just to know I'm okay and its not actually closing. The pressure on my chest is just so intense, and my hands sometimes start to shake. Are those symptoms of anxiety? It doesn't go away, and it probably has a lot to do with the fact that I can't stop thinking about it. But its hard, you know? Especially when I'm having a hard time breathing because of it.
Now that my SVT is fixed, and the ablation done with, I have this horrible pressure in my chest. Its usually when I sneeze, run, anything that works my chest, and it doesnt go away for a while..
For the past four weeks I have had tighteness in my throat, coughing, and pressure on my chest and back (between my shoulder blades). It feels like something is stuck in my throat all the time. I went to the doctor about a week ago and received a cortisone shot, which releaved some of my chest and back pain, but seems that my throat pain is the same or may have even gotten worse. My doctor diagnosed me with allergies and post nasel drip.
Mobility test scheduled for some time in the future. I have constant pressure in my throat and upper chest. I am a 51-year-old, white male, with a history of acid reflux. I found "Barrett's Esophagus" on the Internet. All of the symptoms and proclivity match me exactly. Any suggestions?
I also feel the pressure behind my eyes. The pressure area feels like a bubble in my chest. Sitting down and leaning forward feels like putting pressure on both the top and the bottom of this area. Standing is the most comfortable position. Lying down feels like it is pushing this pressure area up into my throat. Also, the pressure sometimes makes breathing feel strained in one lung, but not the other (although which lung can alternate).
Everytime i get something checked out it turns out ok and then the symptom magically goes away and now the new one im getting tightness around my throat almost like someone has there hands around it with there fingers pushing in on the sides of my throat not real hard but enough to cause pressure very scary and uncomfortable and i have trouble swallowing and that makes me panic so i take a big drink of ice cold water and that seems to help or sometimes ill take a half of zanax and that seems to

It causes pain in the chest, and burning in the chest, sour taste in the mouth. The feeling of lump in the throat and difficulty swallowing is known as globus hystericus. I would suggest you to eat a soft bland diet, avoid oily foods, drink plenty of water and take an OTC antacid before meals for a few days.
I have similar symptoms - chest cracking and soreness, throat tightness - and have not been able to find anything to help. The doctor said it is probably costochondritis but also suggested seeing a rheumatologist. I have not been to the rheumantologist and decided to try ibuprofen for costochondritis first.
I have suffered with anxiety also over the fear of death, and today this chest pressure and tight feeling in my throat and shoulders could come from anxiety, but it truly feels like I will stop breathing at any minute and this is awful. I chew lots of gum due to my breath sometimes being bad and am worried this has spread infection through my whole body.
m. one night with SEVERE chest pain and pressure that was felt front and back and into the left shoulder, neck and jaw. Heart rate was 128 at rest. Nitro didn't do anything, morphine didn't help pain. Was given blood thinners and beta blockers which finally slowed rate and eased pain some. Chest was sore for days and still doesn't always feel right. ALL tests ( blood enzymes, ekg's, stress tests, cat scan and x-rays) are O.K. What can this be?
I am currently taking 25mg of Toprol once a day and one Nexium a day for heartburn. As a review, there is the pressure in chest, not pain. I have pain and soreness to touch in the chest area but that seems to be muscular. I sometimes find it hard to breath or like I cant catch my breath. I occasionally get pain in my arms and legs.
For the past month I have had the feeling of a lump in my throat, like I have to clear it all the time, and pressure in my chest that rises up to my neck and throat. My doctor says it may be allergies, but I don't think so. She did blood work on me to include gallbladder, thyroid, etc...and nothing. I have been to the ER twice where they have taken blood test, x-rays, and EKG tests and everything "looks good".
During these few weeks I've been experiencing some throat irritation and ear aches. One side of my throat feels a tad bit swollen when I swallow. A couple times when I was trying to eat I would get a sharper pain in my right ear and even my right eye would ache. I kept putting off going to the doctor just hoping it would go away. Finally after waking up the other morning, and It hurt to open my jaw all the way, I went to the doctor.
the pain is located under my left shoulder blade. it a sharp pain and i am almost positive it started after the chest pressure. i am not sure if the back pain is related at all.
I have this pain evey now and then, It occurs when I am going to Burp, I get this almost unbearable pain in my throat and chest like something is being built up, but I cannot burp. It passes away after 10 - 15 seconds. It also hurts to swallow, it's like there's something physically in the way, but there is nothing to be seen. Sometimes it is uncomfortable and i try to move around and make it stop. Usually there is nothing I can do it comes and goes on its own. Everything online doesn't help because I can't pinpoint what is wrong or what the pain exactly feels like. Its like something is expanding or contracting in the middle of my chest and pushing against everything then releases. I don't think I am experiencing any other symptoms.
I drink many fluids to try and soothe it but it just doesn't go away. My throat and chest feel like you usually feel like when you're running outside in the cold and come in. I press down on my chest sometimes and the pressure relieves the pain sometimes. Help?
I am having severe pain in the center of my chest followed by throat and jaw pain. Normally lasts about 15 min. Has happened approx 8 times in the last 5 days.
So NOW all this pain has come back, it is up my shoulder and into my neck again and causing a pain and pressure up around my left ear and face. This is very painful and nothing seems to help. I'm really getting tired of feeling like crap and its interfering with my life and my work.
I haven't officially been diagnosed with GERD but while I was pregnant went to the ER with chest pains. Everything was checked out (chest xray, CT, leg dopplars etc) and at the end he said it was probably GERD. I am now 3 months post-partum and experiencing this weird pressure in my upper chest. Like a fullness, or that my stomach is too high in my chest (if that makes any sense!). If I wasn't really focussing on it, I'd say it feels like my breathing was not right too.
My blood tests and ECG came back ok and my blood pressure is normal (not even high normal!) and my pulse rate is generally around 85 on average (high would be about 98 for me) I have my own blood pressure monitor and it's always stable although sometimes it feels like my heart is racing and I can feel it almost in my throat. There's no history of heart problems in my family either. Is something that anyone can relate to???
