It would probably be best to work through it with a therapist, but in my case I don't want to wait around to find the right one. I enjoyed how the workbook helped me find the cause of my anxiety, and how to work through them on a daily basis, at the end of each chapter, a person keeps a journal of improvements, answering questions, etc..... I was surprised to find out how much anxiety relates back to my childhood, upbringing etc.... The workbook taught me to identify my own personality.

You should also not read or watch TV while in bed and go to bed only when you feel very sleepy. The other treatment options available are bright light therapy and chronotherapy. Your doctor may advise you some Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) which might improve your sleep.

In addition to any drugs you might be taking, I recommend that you also work on reducing the stress in your life because it aggravates Grave's Disease. There's a book I've found to be really helpful in reducing overall stress but also in coping with the symptoms when I have them. It's The Relaxation & Stress Reduction Workbook by Martha Davis (and others).

The different approaches used are stimulus control, sleep restriction, relaxation therapy, psychotherapy and maintaining sleep hygiene. Avatar n tn Reduction of the types of movements that trigger or worsen dystonia, reduction of stress, plenty of rest, moderate exercise, and relaxation techniques do help to reduce the symptoms. Sedation of brain, blocking nerve communications with the muscles via drugs, neuro-suppression or denervation are the latest treatment modalities but they have many adverse effects and risks. Avatar f tn Im in the same bout stressed and overwhelmed not just because what im going through but also because its my first and im nervous ect. Ect. Everyone says its normal. Try listening to relaxation or meditation music on Pandora with some headphones if you have quiet time just lay there and relax think and about the baby.it helps me. Hopefully same for you :) you will be fine mommy!

Driving out of state to our new house I had an extreme panic attack (this was in November). Ever since than I haven't been able to "kick anxiety". The doctor prescribed me Lexapro which I had a HORRIBLE reaction to. I am constantly fixated on "how am I feeling" "what if" "when will this go away".
Avatar n tn Stress may be an important factor. I suggest that you have stress reduction and more relaxation activities. If these persist, you may need to have additional diagnostics such as nerve conduction studies to determine the underlying cause. Treatment usually depend on the diagnosis. Take care always.
