Avatar f tn I don't know much as I am new on this forum, just joined the beginning of March. I haven't gone through tx yet either, but here goes. My hands and feet swell, so I stay away from salt. Also, I eat meat, but I try to stay away from fried foods. I really don't know the reason other than they're greasy and maybe harder on the liver than other foods. As far as the cooking oil, I think peanut oil, virgin olive oil. You know what? As far as what kind of oil, I don't know.
Avatar f tn It might seem extreme to go to that extend to some or maybe to many, but everything you put on your skin and into your mouth has to go through the liver at some point. So I figured I might as well eliminate all the toxins I can from my diet and have dragged the whole family into it. They are actually really enjoying the healthy food. I'm not saying you should become vegetarian :-) I think it's best to make sure that the meat, chicken, fish ...

Avatar f tn Depending on the size of the nodules, they can present quite a problem. I have a friend with a nodule that is hot/toxic, won't stop leaking. It's like a mini thyroid gland. Hashi can cause this to happen. My nodules would leak up to a few weeks at a time. How awful! Then, I'd go hypo again. My thyroid hormone shrunk the nodules, so they dont' give me problems. Now, I go hyper every few weeks because I gave up gluten a few months ago.
Avatar f tn Can anyone direct me to a good website that will teach me how and what to eat. I am sure I am going to get a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes this week. My blood glucose this AM when I woke up was 200. It's been running about 125-130 all week. I also get some pretty low numbers during the day and start to feel weak and jittery. I'd just like to see what the diet looks like before I go in to see my doctor. Thanks.
Avatar f tn s, and 1/4 of the menu items are listed, but then there are dozens of items with no information, just the name. Is this just because people are too lazy or ignorant to actually put what an item is when they add it?
Avatar m tn What are your current thyroid hormone levels? You should be getting tested for Free T3, Free T4 and TSH on a regular basis. Sounds like you might need an adjustment to your medication. For many of us, once we become hypo, foods like pizza have to come off the menu, or at least be eaten only rarely. You have to take in less calories than you use in order to lose weight. Make sure you get plenty of exercise.
Avatar n tn I dont see anything that says menu in my app. I have My Diet Diary app and just need the simple answer of how to delete food added by mistake.
Avatar n tn No need to go on a special diet, just try to exchange some of the unhealthy options with more healthy ones and there you go. It is way better to stick to small changes than to overthrow your diet every two weeks. As for salads: lettuce is not for everybody. Try a oven roasted apple, beetroot and carrot salad with roasted pumpkin seeds instead. Yum!
Avatar n tn I think chest pain is a very serious symptom and would stop immediately and consult with the dr.
Avatar m tn How were you treated for Graves Disease? Are you now hypo? Are you on thyroid replacement hormones? If so, which ones, what dosage and for how long have you been on it? It's possible that you need to increase your med dosage, if you aren't losing weight. Typically, when thyroid hormone levels are adequate weight will come off. If you have current labs you could post, that would be helpful for us.

Avatar n tn A balanced diet is perfrctly fine. Not necessarily just a doft food diet. Example of my typical menu while breastfeeding is: a fruit, oatmeal, toast for breakfast. A glass of apple juice, turkey cheese samdwich on whole grain bread, and maybe some chips for lunch. A snack around 3 which is like pb and crackers. For dinner, a veggie with some type of meat. Ive sucessfully breastfed 2 babies so far sticking to well balanced diet. Lots of water is key too. Whole grains are best.

Avatar f tn Spaghetti and pizza sound good so do chili dogs and corn dogs... I'm at the beach today so all the wonderful smells from the foods are driving me crazy.
Avatar n tn How hi depends on you and how far down the diabetic jurny you have traveled. a normal person does not get complications like going blind or loosing toes/feet/legs a normal person never has BG over 120 Joslin Diabetes Center says BG over 136 causes damage that leads to complications. So a lot of people restrict carbohydrates so there BG does not go over 140 some chose 120 some chose 180 (ADA limit).
Avatar f tn I do not have anything in the top right corner :( I did the same thing.
