I have a question. Are drugs in the benzo family ever used to treat seizures? As in Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, Restoril, etc? I have simple partial seizures and was on xanax on an "as needed" basis to control some nervousness about going back to college. I was on it for about 2 months. I started realizing I got less of my sensory and motor seizures which have always been uncontrollable since I started getting them back in 2000.

My doctor wants me to take Adipex to help with the extreme fatigue. However, when I researched Adipex it says it is used as a weight loss drug for morbidly obese people. I am 5'6" and weigh 148 lbs. I am certainly not morbidly obese and I am very concerned after researching the side effects of this medication. Has anyone else ever taken Adipex before? Thanks for you help!

I did ask the doctor to clarify the prescription and he said it is used to relieve abdominal pain in some patients. If he is prescribing effexor for anxiety symptoms, I would think he would say so or direct me to a Psychiatrist.
