cold

1302779 tn?1287405029 I doubt very much those two meds would cause your hands to be cold. Sometimes as we get older, our circulation isn't what it was and that can result in cold hands and feet. If you feel this has only presented itself since you bagan the meds though, I would definitely discuss it with your doctor to rule out an organic problem. I'm sure you're fine. Keep us posted! Peace Greenlydia........older than you wearing two pair of socks and mittens!
Avatar f tn I've been cold the whole time. I thought I was werid.

Avatar n tn Around the lines of my palms will get a little puffy and white espesially when in water even for a short time. if I scratch it the skin is tender and will come off. But when this happens and I squeeze my hand in a fist it feels bloated or swollen. I would realy appreciate anyones help on why this happens and such. Thank you so much!
709686 tn?1277432159 I think 20mg is the standard dose, to be taken between 1/2 hour and one hour of your major meal of the day. Because of an extreme problem with acid reflux I took as much as 80mg daily for a short amount of time before surgery, but I took 20mg daily for perhaps twenty years with no known side affects. I think if I were you, I'd check with your doctor about the symtom of cold hands after eating sugar, and do so at once, it sounds like a diabetic issue.
Avatar n tn Here is what you typically see 1) Fingers get cold, the arteries constrict (vasospasm) and this significantly cuts of flow the digits. The digits (fingers/toes) will turn pale or white. 2) Because of the diminished blood flow the fingers do not get enough oxygen and you develop a state called cyanosis, which will be a blue or purplish color.
Avatar f tn My feet and hands are always freezing cold and my feet although they are cold, they sweat . I'm always under blankets about three and I have socks on. Do any other pregnant mom's feel like this?
20906441 tn?1614530774 I am not sure what my AIC level is at the time. I have a terrible time with my fingers getting cold but when the temperature is above 65 degrees the problem goes away. My doctor doesn't really give me a concrete answer, could it be due to experience before I got sugar and my hands got almost frost bitten in my younger years. I am 67 now and thinking about moving to a year round warmer climate.
Avatar f tn My hands are almost always very cold and sometimes after that they start to sweat, and sometimes it's the other way around. They start to sweat then get very cold. What could be the reason for that?
Avatar n tn Cold urticaria is a disorder characterized by the rapid onset of itchiness, redness and swelling of the skin within minutes after exposure to a cold stimulus. Diagnosis can be made by an ice-cube test. Place an ice cube on your forearm for 4 minutes and observe the area for 10 minutes afterwards. If you have cold urticaria, the area will become itchy and then swell approximately 2 minutes after removing the ice cube.
Avatar f tn Hello, Without examination, confirming a diagnosis is tough but it can be due to cold allergy or due to electrolyte imbalance in the body. Cold urticaria is a disorder characterized by the rapid onset of itchiness, redness and swelling of the skin within minutes after exposure to a cold stimulus. Patients typically experience symptoms while outside on cold, windy or rainy days.
Avatar n tn It could be a circulatory problem or something different like Raynauds. I have Raynauds and my feet and hands turn a nasty gray/blue when they're cold or if I sit or stand too long (my feet then). Do your feet improve when you elevate your legs? I do hope you'll be asking your doctor about this since it's not a normal reaction. If your doctor thinks it's Raynauds, be sure to see a neurologist too to check for secondary things like lupus or RA.
Avatar n tn Hello, It can be due to cold urticaria. Cold urticaria is diagnosed by holding an ice cube against the skin of the forearm for 1 to 5 minutes. A distinct hive should develop if a patient has cold urticaria. Patients with cold urticaria should learn to protect themselves from a rapid drop in body temperature.Antihistaminics like Claritin and zyrtec can also be taken. The antihistamine cyproheptadine (Periactin) has been found to be a useful treatment also.
Avatar f tn There are many other circulation disorders that can cause the kind of cold feeling you have and I hope the doctors will work with you and help find a answer. Please come back and let us know what you find out.
Avatar m tn ok, it sounds like your hands get chaped from the cold weather. put some warm cloves on or buy some of those packs of hand warmers. then your hands will stay warm and wont turn red. the heat is from your blood circulation warming your hands back up from the cold weather.
Avatar f tn Hi Welcome to the MedHelp forum! Your daughter could be having a vascular problem which may be due to peripheral vascular disease or low blood pressure. This could be getting aggravated when she is cold. Other causes of cold extremities with bluish discoloration are hypothyroidism, anorexia, Addison’s disease, adrenal causes like pheochromocytoma, anemia, Buerger’s disease, chronic fatigue syndrome and Raynaud’s disease.
Avatar m tn In my experience as a skier, I see most people need to bundle up considerably when it gets very cold. I and a number of others do well with moderate amounts of clothing. Personally, I rarely have a problem with getting cold. This includes my face, hands, and feet. Many people have an inherent inability to keep warm when it is cold. Are you active? Do you need to wear a ton of clothes when out taking a walk?
Avatar m tn Hi there, i have been having a problem the last couple of months with my hands, everytime im out working, or just out with mates and its cold or chilly my hands tingle and white bumps appear all over my hands. Avatar f tn my mother in law has had a ill for a few months trying to get her levels right, she has been feeling realy unwell but she has been complaining of realy cold hands and feet, she spends most of the day with her feet on a hot water bottle but they are still cold to touch, she has tried lots of home remidies but nothing seems to work. She also says they feel numb is this typical of thyroid disorders? Any ideas ?
Avatar f tn t actually feel very cold to the touch, just slightly cool. This is very painful. I have always gotten cold hands and feet when exposed to cold (never been tested for Raynaud's, but I assume I have it), but never like this. It happens in both my feet, however is worse in my left foot. My hands also get cold for no good reason (right now they are cold and I am just sitting in my house), but not as severe or as often as my feet.
Avatar f tn Due to my swelling i am not able to sleep in the night. My hands feel very warm all the time. the rest of the body feels so cold. My doc has prescribed mobic for pain and tylenol pm for sleeping apart from plaquenil daily. i will research on Mixed connective tissue disease. thanks .

709686 tn?1277432159 Have your thyroid and hormones checked.
Avatar f tn Is there such a thing as edema of the hands? My hands swell, tingle, have shooting, prickly pain and then start getting numb. My mother died of Congestive Heart Failure but I could tell most of the time when she was going into heart failure because her feet and ankles would swell and I would push the tissue on the foot and ankle and it would go in and not pop up it would remain indented where I pushed.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have an explanation the symptom tremors of the hands? Pt has acute leukemia, AML. Symptoms are worse with exertion so I am thinking it is due to low oxygen levels. Has anyone else experienced this?
620048 tn?1358018235 I was thinking parasthesia too, though i think with Raynauds you also experience parasthesia sx when the blood is flowing again. For years i was getting ice cold, cramps, and pins and needles in my hands and feet and i was told it was poor circulation, its taken years for the colour changes to start to happen. Around 3 years for my feet to turn purple and now they get to a bue-black colour and its only been in the last year that my hands go purple.
Avatar f tn As a rule my feet are not icy. I find that when they do get cold it takes forever for them to warm back up. Socks, blankets etc don;t do anything to expedite the process. The same is true for my hands. I've been back inside for 30 minutes this morning and my fingers are still cold.
