Previous doctor was obsessed that my wife had iron deficiency so she had to get 6-7 iron infusion though hemogluban was not low at all. When once she told that fetus had reduced movement and she needs blood, we left her because it was just 4th month of pregnancy. But the new doctor put my wife on AMINOVEL drips,saying that water in which fetus is growing is insufficient. She has been getting aminovel infusions for last 2-3 months with varying intervals.
Just to be on the safe side. You never know... Thalidomide was once considered safe too, but the result was catastrophic!

It's an approximate computation based on the half life of ribavirin which is quite long. My guess it's probably a bit on the conservative side but why take a risk when potential birth defects are involved.

I knew someone in a similar situation and she tried to harm her fetus while pregnant and later her daughter attempted suicide (due to the environment the mother raised her in).

I have been treated with several meds, including, but not limited to Iodine drops, Thalidomide, Prednisone, and topical steroids. I am now on 10 mg of Prednisone. I have been on that dosage for 6 years now, and the medication is not treating my body very nicely with weakened joints that ache, bad bruising on my arms and legs, weight gain, and a host of other problems that go with the steroid use. One of the best things for the E/N is the application of a topical steroid, Lydex cream.
