Avatar n tn I have been treated with several meds, including, but not limited to Iodine drops, Thalidomide, Prednisone, and topical steroids. I am now on 10 mg of Prednisone. I have been on that dosage for 6 years now, and the medication is not treating my body very nicely with weakened joints that ache, bad bruising on my arms and legs, weight gain, and a host of other problems that go with the steroid use. One of the best things for the E/N is the application of a topical steroid, Lydex cream.

Avatar f tn Hello, It can be due to prurigo nodularis which is characterised by pruritic (itchy) nodules which usually appear on the arms or legs. It is very difficult to treat, but current therapies include steroids, vitamins, cryosurgery, thalidomide and UVB light. If staphylococcus or other infection is present, then antibiotics may be needed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Avatar f tn No there aren't many incidents that I've heard of. If these things for pregnancies or babies are sooooo bad for us, I'm sure we'd hear more about it other then there all of a sudden on recall..... Doesn't make sense and its illegal for things to be in stores if there on recall. Every store I've been to have all these medications or anything recalled.

431950 tn?1262819314 I was on Doxil for 6 treatments, your CA125 will increase after the 1st dose ( this is expected ), unfortunately, mine kept increasing so I was just recently put on a Topotecan/Thalidomide Combo. However, while I was on Doxil, my symtoms were negligible....I stayed away from the hot showers, hot water for handwashing and dishes, spicey foods and repetitive motions like chopping carrots and typing. I did lose my taste, which wasn't listed as a side effect. I lost about 10 lbs.

Avatar f tn Hi, Prurigo nodularis is very hard to treat, but current therapies include steroids, vitamins, cryosurgery, thalidomide and UVB light. In the event that staphylococcus or other infection is present, antibiotics have proven effective. A physician may administer a strong dose of prednisone, which will almost immediately stop the itch/scratch cycle. However, cessation of steroids allows relapse to occur, usually within a few weeks.

Avatar f tn I'm a 20 year old female, who has recently been put on cipralex for panic attacks and anxiety. About a week ago I came out in a strange red rash on my chest. I have also been experiencing blurring vision and lightheadedness several times a day. Usually when I wake up in the morning I have had quite bad headaches which usually pass within an hour of being awake. I'm worrying whether this could be the medication or something else. Should I go to a doctor or is it anxiety related?
