Avatar f tn Ok I can help u with this as I worked with divorces and paternity for 12 years prior to my career now. But I'm from Texas so laws change from state to state but usually minor details. But by TX law it would complicate things. Legally the legal father is your husband. Now naming your bf as the father on the birth certificate doesn't establish paternity between the baby and ur bf. It actually doesn't do anything. U can name anyone on the birth certificate.
Avatar f tn I was hoping my divorce would be over soon so i could just wait but i also heard that a divorce cant be finalized untill the baby is born
Avatar f tn Every state has different laws and you can check out your state's laws. But, laws are laws whether no matter who brings it to the authorities attention. Social services could take a look at a young minor with someone older and pursue charges along with the hospital. I think it is hard because a 3 year age difference is not huge . . . but seems that way in the teen years. in reality, there isn't that huge a difference between a 15 year old and an 18 year old in my opinion.
Avatar f tn long story short I have decided to go through with a LONG needed divorce n need to know how to completely keep him away n get a divorce because he is crzy n said he will tk my bby n I will NEVER see it again. How do I have my bby without having to give it his families name or have him on the birth certificate. It sounds harsh but if u knew his bkground u would understand.
Avatar f tn m still legally married to someone else and he refusing to file for divorce. I served him paper two years ago but signed them to late. SHOULD I tell him about the baby in hopes that he will then file for divorce. Or just let him discover my growing baby.
10707428 tn?1415569790 My husband kicked me out yesterday. He said he wants a divorce because he doesnt love me anymore. This is all so sudden, and a shock to me, because i thought we had a great marriage. My question is, i want to move outside the country, im 7 months. My question is can i fly on plane across the ocean when im 7 months? Can he sue me for kidnapping his child even though he's not born yet?
Avatar f tn I am pretty sure that it can be used against you in a divorce, but I can't say 100%. In Texas, if a spouse cheats, the other is entitled to 90% of assets in a divorce. Granted you started seeing someone after you split up, but you are still legally married. You may want to talk to your attorney, or call another one to ask just in case.
148588 tn?1465778809 The citation was given because Cheever brought the hot food from her own car and not a mobile food truck—and while there are good reasons for having food permit laws for mobile vehicles (sanitary considerations and public health), those laws are usually reserved for people trying to sell food. Not provide alms to the poor.......
Avatar n tn In the divorce paperwork they will set visitation. Idk what the laws are where you are but here in KY you can not file for divorce until the child is born. You can file for legal separation but that is it. I would go ahead and call a lawyers and see what the rules are in your area. You may be able to file but not go to court until after baby is here. In divorce papers they will set up child support, visitation, medical support for baby etc.
Avatar f tn Sorry I feel like I've posted a million questions. Bit I'm on the fence about what baby's last name will be. My boyfriend and I aren't married and in fact he's still legally married to his other two kids mom. She still legally has to use his last name. Also I'm the only grandchild on my dad's side so the name stops with me.
1530342 tn?1405016490 she cannot stop talking (except to take questions) or sit. A Harvard Law School graduate whom Democrats in Texas and abroad had dearly hoped would challenge Rick Perry for governor in 2014 (she said today she isn’t running), Davis is well-known to Texans as one of their most powerful and outspoken lawmakers. Below are a few of her career highlights. An unlikely biography Davis is an accomplished lawyer today, but at the outset of her adult life, she had no intention of even going to college.
148588 tn?1465778809 the case asserts that Texas laws granting eminent domain to public utilities violate the clause in the 14th amendment to the U.S. constitution prohibiting government from making or enforcing law that deprives Americans of property without due process. Texas state law grants eminent domain power to companies seeking to condemn land for public utility projects.
11595727 tn?1428875837 How can a absentee father legally sign over his rights? I am in Texas and its for the best interest that he does it as he will and is not help supportive or even see or spend time with child.
Avatar f tn m unsure of the laws where you are but in the UK they usually send you for counselling to make sure that your 100% about your decision and they don't like to perform them under the age of 30 (same goes for a man), but may be completely different where you are.
Avatar f tn That is such a hard thing to deal with and especially when you have a child that will ask questions. Is he willing to talk or work on things at all?
Avatar f tn It depends on the state laws. You'll have to ask your hospital about it. They'll be able to tell you.
Avatar n tn Dear kelleymonica, In case of a qualifying event such as death or divorce, Federal COBRA can be extended from the original 18 months to as long as 36 months (18 + 18 = 36 months); however it doesn't seem like you have had a qualifying event (as described by COBRA law). The good news is that after exhausting your COBRA you are HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act) eligible, which means you will qualify for some type of coverage depending on your State of resident.
Avatar f tn I'm going on 34 weeks this Thursday, but from reading a lot of these questions, a lot of you got a Pap smear done your first checkup. I didn't find out I was pregnant till I was 19w 4d, but I also didn't get a checkup till I was 21w. Not once have I received a Pap smear or anything in that region. Will I get that at all? Or any kind of checkup down there? Even later on (around 37 weeks) to see if I dilated or anything? My next check up is next Tuesday, my first biweekly appointment.
Avatar f tn No.. don't even think about it. Nothing is worse than living with in-laws especially with baby. If you really want to save money and pay off debt you can find a couple of nice cardboard boxes and make a nice house, anything is better than in-laws. Good luck.
1301089 tn?1290666571 59 AM CDT on Sunday, August 8, 2010 By SHERRY JACOBSON / The Dallas Morning News ***@**** As Republican members of Congress press for changes to the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, preventing automatic citizenship for babies born to illegal immigrants, opponents insist the debate is not really about babies. Instead, they say it is about politics and votes – not fixing the immigration system. Still, the debate could resonate in Texas, where not only 1.
Avatar f tn Ignorance I know first hand cause my n laws really wreck my nerves. Most days I'm stuck hollering at kids and I don't understand I will shut my door and lock it some me time. Everyone beats down my door if I'm sleep and don't answer they will call my phone 1000 times annoying as hell. This is my first child but they expect for me to get up every morning get my nephew ready for school and take him but I quit after him missing a few days they got the picture.
Avatar f tn I'm newly pregnant about 4 wks here's issue, I have been legally married for 17 years but for the last 7 years not with "ex"husband at all. We live together in separate rooms because I want to raise my 4 older children and can't afford a divorce since all our assets are tied together. I've been with another man for the last 4 years privately and in love .. Next year I was planning to take action and make things happen as in divorce papers ..
Avatar f tn The finances can be complex related to divorce and each situation is different. Each state has different laws too. Do you know the laws of your state? Is the house in both your names? I understand the fear you have of losing money on the house and having to find another home for yourself. It stinks. Getting a spouse out is a bit hard. Divorce should do it but you need someone to advise you. Document everything related to his drug use. Take pictures. Record things.
