453025 tn?1205777979 I have been seeing a man for quite some time now, I have learned that he uses testosterone injections as well as HCG injections. I know that he as been taking testosterone injections longer than HCG. I believe taking the testosterone injections are to make his body bigger as he is a bodybuilder and the HCG I believe are to enlarge his testicles.

Avatar f tn I found out in 2019 I had low testosterone (0.6) and high SHBG (134), still same numbers as of June this year. Back in 2019, A doctor prescribed me AndrolGel. After a week or two into the treatment I had insane heart palpitations, high BP’s, dizzyness, sweating, headaches, the works pretty much. After a month or two of ER visits and doctors telling me it’s not the AndrolGel, I stopped it. Told me everyone has testosterone in their body speech. My dosage was 1 sachet of 2.5gm 1% twice a week.
Avatar f tn Did they give you the reference ranges for your FT3, TT4 and TPOab? Ranges vary lab to lab, so they have to come from your own lab report. Do you know the name of the pill they gave you? Was this prescribed by a doctor?
Avatar m tn The thing with hormones that docs seem to fail to remember from their training - is that they work in feedback loops. So if testosterone is low, other things are working overtime high to make up for it or not functioning at all - so the loop is broken. And since the androgen can come form the pit or the adrenals, they need to test you well. If you are low, and just replacing to the point of feeling better, your side effects should be reduced - talk to your doc or pharmacist about your risks.
Avatar m tn He said it was an infected cyst of some sort and prescribed me some antibiotics, one in pill form and another in a cream. I've finished with the pill antibiotics but it's still there although much better than it was before. If you dont mind me asking, with continued use of the cream, will it disappear completely over time? or will there always be a bump there from now on?

Avatar n tn The primary treatment for low testosterone is testosterone supplement. Testosterone replacement therapy may be in the form of skin gel, injections, long acting pellets, patches or oral inserts. Clomid is not the primary treatment mode for testosterone deficiency. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar f tn It has a progesterone in it and so will protect the uterus from cancer. At the same time, since the birth control pill works by shutting off the signal to your ovaries from your brain, the ovaries will stop making testosterone and your acne and rate of hair growth will hopefully improve. This is a common problem, for which I would recommend seeing your ObGyn or a Reproductive Endocrinologist to help decide which approach is best for you.
Avatar m tn ve been taking birth control pills (as a form of contraception in my long-term relationship and as a treatment in itself). Because I am very afraid of getting pregnant and really do not want kids, I take my pill religiously. I've been considering getting an IUD because I feel there are less things that could happen to mess with my contraception if I had one. The problem is: my PCOs was not controlled by life style choices.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if a comparable dosage in gel or injection form would be cheaper than the pills... Any help would be appreciated!
Avatar n tn Estrogen and testosterone are very related (you know how when a baby is formed, the same parts go to form the ovaries and testes, so it just a matter of how much of each hormone which gives us characteristics). There are also different testosterone tests to run, not just plain testosterone (my docs like bioavailable best) to really show what is up. You need DHEA sulfate tested as well as sex binding hormones to show the whole gamut. What is your LH and FSH?
Avatar m tn Can I carry on my perscription pill form & labled in my name (controlled substances) in my purse or carry on bag?
Avatar m tn Be aware, the standard lab ranges they use for testosterone are _not_ age adjusted. And most doctors dismiss low testosterone out of hand, Come back and post your testosterone levels with ranges when you get them.
Avatar m tn Hello, Chap. I think your birth year coincides with mine. On to your question... Before I get there, know that I am NOT a medical doctor. However, I do participate on testosterone forums (in fact, I belong to an excellent forum on yahoo which consists of men recovering from low testosterone. A few of the members there are medical doctors, as well.) Libido is complicated, influenced by more than simply testosterone. That said, we should consider the actual results from your bloodwork.
353148 tn?1293061164 That Geritol sounds really good. I just spent a while looking it up. I would deifinatly try it. I read one post where someone took it till a BFP and then swiched right to prenatal vitamins. It's worth a shot! I wonder if you can just get it in a pill form!
765439 tn?1292960414 Ok--where do I start. My husband had tests done back in 05 or 06 that showed he had slightly elevated prolactin level ( I believe it was in the 20's) and very low testosterone level. He had an MRI that showed nothing conclusive ( if there was a tumor--was too small to see). Saw endocrinologist -- prescribed testosterone which made him very mean (almost like a different person).
8319766 tn?1417382036 So I want to the doc today to get my results, everything was good, I have high testosterone levels and my doc said the only way they can get it regulated is for me to go on the pill.she gave it to me for 3 Mons and for me to join a gym to lose some weight and then after that she is going to test again and see if my levels want back to normal, she said because of that that is why I haven't had my period, so now there is def no baby for me and hubs.
706214 tn?1244523049 Your testosterone levels are probably causing the extra hair growth, related to your PCOS, which metformin can help regulate the hormones which in turn will help your testosterone levels go normal, which in turn will releave your issues. Good luck!
